Sorry, no, it is still 'famous'. A famous something else.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

No, we kept it purely between us as I recall.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

I like the word 'broad' in the antiquated, American dive bar context. In my student days a few of us made an attempt to re-popularise it.

Work has begun on Hugh's new case. It won't be '...Famous Bastard' this time; it will be something else starting with a 'b'. I welcome your guesses.

Just a few hours, now, until the truth emerges (things you can post if you've been producing a long-running murder mystery and also if you're a psycho about to embark upon some sort of terrible crime).

Everyone's talking about it! Episode 23, Dead Of Night, will get us most of the way there. Out late tonight (Patreon); early tomorrow morning (the masses).

We'll have a proper old Q and A about it.

I've kept them in the dark as much as possible. The culprit was really pleased to find out they were the culprit.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

Well, I've briefed the, shall we say, three or four people involved in recording the final episode, and the last recording session is set.

The 22nd of our 24 episodes, 'The Things You Can't Buy', is now out. Hurry! It will be taken down again at midday (this isn't true).

3370

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

Episode 22 is in the works, the antepenultimate chapter in our story. After its release, I'm going to use Bluesky's new group chat feature and have a post-match discussion with fifty of you. No, joking.

3320

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

Episode 21 is out, of course. 'Sleeping Arrangements' it's called. We're pretty close to the dénouement, now. I suppose we don't need the accent; the word has been borrowed wholesale from French. Anyway, there it is.

Episode 20, Leave No Trace, is up and waiting for your little ears. No, I didn't mean they're *particularly* little. You've got nice ears. Nice, normal ears. YOUR EARS ARE FINE OK

The story continues on Sunday with episode 19, Mad People With Money. Jot and I recorded at 11pm this week to finish it off. That's how much we love you. Get ready.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 17/05/2026

I imagine we might come up with another way to have fun.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 17/05/2026

The podcast returns next Sunday, for the final run of six episodes, 19-24... with the finale, the 25th, to follow THAT. Not completely sure about the timing of that. Tantalising, isn't it?

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 03/05/2026

This episode is there for your immediate enjoyment.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 01/05/2026

Episode 18, 'The Edge', on its way. It is not about the gentleman from U2 but it is about all sorts of other stuff. Once more, some answers, some questions. I think it's a good one. After this, there will be the traditional two-week break to let you really stew before the final run of chapters.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

Episode 17 is out now on Patreon and will reach the rest of the world at 6am UK time. This is quite a good one.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

Episode 17, Nature's Bounty, will be with you this weekend. There's an awful lot of information this one. Some of it even true.

People have had, and continue to have, all sorts of responses to him.

It's been years actually since I did it, but it's worth a go!

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 12/04/2026

Hello, sorry, in case you hadn't already worked it out: there is no new episode this week. It's just been impossible with my whole going to Australia thing. The story hots up again next week.

3401

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 04/04/2026

We are nearly there with Episode 15, Only You And The Water. Slightly shorter than usual; most of it just Hugh banging on. But some fairly important stuff, and one of Calum's most smouldering moments, for those who like that sort of thing. The Patreon people will get it early this evening.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

Episode 14, 'Main Character', emerged from the ether late last night and is now sitting there waiting to entertain you. Features a wonderful turn from @misterabk.bsky.social among the usual perplexing goings-on.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 24/03/2026

There's a silly little 'outtakes' video up on the Patreon now. Meanwhile today we recorded with a guest star I'm very very pleased about.

Thank you! And yes don't worry, it's in hand.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 22/03/2026

Amazing download numbers today, thank you all. Especially given the Patreon 'pre-release'. Now, anyone got a good idea for episode 14?

This is another amazing piece of work!

OK, I think the new episode is out on Patreon. I think. Normal service at 6am (our time) regardless, of course.

Nobody's stopping you from enjoying two negative types of self-image at the same time. That's never been what this community was about.

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 21/03/2026

'Listen up, fuck-brains. My Patreon is so overloaded with bonuses that the price you pay, even for the higher-tier memberships, is frankly insulting to both of us. The longer you sit there without signing up, the more you're embarrassing yourself and your whole way of life.' Any good?

I know! Absolutely enormous location budget these days.

Haha I think we're safe with that, actually.

020

Murder Of A Famous... @murderbastard.bsky.social · 20/03/2026

Anyway, look, we're almost back. Episode 13. We'll find out who is dead; we'll go to a members' club and a shoe shop; we'll hear a bit of Hugh's past and learn of a strange event taking place in his immediate future - on his birthday, in fact. Patreon subscribers get it ad-free late on Sat night.

I THINK you can now 'tip' the podcast at this Ko-fi page. Several people made me do this. It feels a bit much with the Patreon already in place, but not everyone *can* commit to a Patreon. Anyway, anything it gets will go to cast and other currently unpaid labourers. ko-fi.com/moafb
