So this isn't a hypothetical - the Maoist cult near me spun up racial justice and ostensibly pro-palestinian front orgs. Anytime there is what I'll call a "protest vacuum" these orgs main skill is being first to call and promote an event using a front. This is sort of the front of the funnel.

Like I've attended meeting where diaspora and refugee community members specifically highlighted the ways in which a local maoist group was both 1. Making protests unwelcome for them and 2. Centering their own political bullshit over the plight of Palestinians.

No it's both, I've dealt with Maoists irl organizing for Palestinian rights and repeatedly had experiences where their need to perform radicalism does harm to the cause.

It's just so weird because I've been really clear in opposing anti-Semitism but the fact I think over half of participants in protests weren't motivated by hatred for Jews I'm open to all sorts of abuse. I've seen this behavior before and I get it but it isn't healthy or productive.

No the entire post is about a small fringe org who showed up to act like bigoted assholes - I simply suggested that this group doesn't really reflect the majority view - which is again clearly supported by data. Most people who protested would support Mamdani over these types of people.
