The other funniest one so far was listening to a background noise electronica playlist to help me focus and suddenly having my brain tune back in to I CAN SEE A NEW HORIZON UNDERNEATH THE BLAZING SKY

I've discovered which song this replaced in the old playlist and lolololololforever

Your Russia by Wovenhand, which was replaced by terrible Russian techno

The rest of the album is more dancey. That wasn't the most dance party representative song on the album

Idk man. I had a bangin plant care dance party this morning youtu.be/AsX7fOuNjjE

Idk if the new Fat Dog album is good exactly, but it is fun

Russians are so good at the worst techno you've ever heard in your life

A lot of weird stuff happens when you import your playlists to Tidal. This replaced something in my Denver sound playlist and I will never stop giggling about it youtu.be/vUZouX0L6Rk

Finally listening to Joshua Burnside's most recent album, It's Not Going to be Okay, and holy shit yeah. This is every bit as devastating as I assumed it would be

Anyway, I'm listening to Mephiskapheles' live album from a few years ago, and they do still got it. Whatever "it" happens to be. I'm not sure. A thing that is purely their own thing

Old ska bands have a truly comical number of past members

New Tove Lo is fun! Big fan of the middle, from about DNH to are we on a break. I do feel like I have to stop complaining about the length of pop songs, tho, because that's just the state of things. However.

SO gay! I was immediately like oooooo did Anne Hathaway make another lesbian movie and then boom Colleen Hoover?????

Took a break on Lux when I fell into the screaming hole and yeah. It's still great. Possibly even better now because I know the songs but am obsessed with new things about them. It's too soon to tell, but this might be my favorite pop album ever

100

just drugs and punk zines @mummering.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Extremely valid. No one should like the Pats unless they're culturally obligated to do so

DYATLOV PASS But also like. I kind of don't want to know

001

just drugs and punk zines @mummering.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

I think Leonard probably came the closest to marrying it all the way Chandler could. That sort of cagey Hays Code lightness with grim subject matter and deadened characters

000

just drugs and punk zines @mummering.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

And Chandler's writing still has enough of that charm that it isn't full-on gruesome the way Thompson's is. There's some great writing in his books, but there's none of the effervescence you can still find in Chandler's work

100

just drugs and punk zines @mummering.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Nick and Nora are so charming and such a good time in a way that Marlowe and co are very much not, but Chandler was in another class as a writer

100

just drugs and punk zines @mummering.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Rereading my noir faves is really driving home that Hammett is fun but no one in that genre could prose the prose like Chandler could prose

110

just drugs and punk zines @mummering.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

If you get a chance to see Ben Nichols' solo shows, you totally should. He did In the Heart of the Mountain in its entirety, which was great, all of Last Pale Light (except my fave lol), and a handful of Lucero songs. Acoustic Nights Like These!
