It’s Mountain Monday! There is a bit of a chill in the Chicago air this morning, reminding us of cooler temps and autumn‘s arrival. While not quite mountains, this pic taken several years ago on Lake Superior reminds me of the beauty of fall. Trees changing color, cloudy conditions, and peace❤️.

The Pipiwai Trial at Haleakala National Park on the island of Maui is definitely a contender. Starts by the ocean, follows a stream past a banyan tree and thru a bamboo forest and gets you to this valley with the gorgeous Waimoku Falls in front 😍. Relatively popular for a reason! Enjoy!

This sweetie doesn’t like guests. 3 things really help… 1. Having her meet guests outside then coming inside together. 2. Having guests completely ignore her when they arrive (no hands out, no treats, nothing). It lets her set terms for meeting. 3. Having guests sit down. Seated = less threatening

Went to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin this weekend with my dog for an afternoon away. It was a gorgeous day on the lake and lots of people were out enjoying it too. Should have brought my bathing suit so I could jump into the cool water! And love the seagull laying claim to the dock😂.

It’s Mountain Monday! Today’s view is from the Lake Butte Overlook at Yellowstone National Park. It looks to the southeast over Yellowstone Lake and in the far blue of distance, you can see Grand Teton Mountain (middle left). Nothing beats the blue hues on a clear summer day there!

It’s Mountain Monday! Today we have a beautiful sunset from a rural farm somewhere out west. In moments like these, this city slicker can imagine being a cowboy and riding a horse off into the sunset.

I’ve recently done a lot of driving lately across rural areas of the USA for vacation. I was in a tiny conservative town, and I stopped at the local coffee shop. This was so unexpected I had to take a pic. Consent is indeed hot ❤️🔥… and important! Love to see it!

It’s Mountain Monday! I’m not a golfer, but I had dinner a while ago at a golf course with a buddy of mine I hadn’t seen in years. Good to catch up, and I loved the golden hour views of the course and mountains as storms moved out. Friendship & beautiful mountains = perfection!

It’s Mountain Monday! However, today I have a pic of a bunny nest my dog found on a walk in a park this weekend. No worries, my dog was on a leash and didn’t get close. No bunnies were harmed, and I left them undisturbed. Even in a massive urban center like Chicago, nature’s beauty is present❤️

Downtown Chicago at sunset. While it’s not Mountain Monday, these towering skyscrapers bring me a sense of awe and marvel at what humans can build and achieve. While humans can certainly be destructive, greedy, and harmful, I still appreciate this beauty and this city I call home.

Visited the Dordogne region several years ago. After this post, I’m disappointed I didn’t stop in Bergerac too. However, loved my visit to Sarlat and the Chateau de Beynac along the Dordogne River. One day I hope to return. Kind people, great food, beautiful sights. Thanks for posting!

It’s my own secret spot with a solitary horse barn for those who want to take a horse around the lake. So peaceful and quiet; seemed like nobody around for 50 miles. May you have peace today!

Agree! Carcassonne is worth a day or two. The walls of the old city are especially beautiful lit up at night. it can get crowded with tourists down the old alleys, but is so cool. Visit if you can!

It’s Mountain Monday! Back once again at Joshua Tree National Park. #JoshuaTreeFan ! I was talking with a friend yesterday about how the Park helps me feel alive, present, and in my body. I long for a hot tub, under the stars, soaking the beautiful aches of an earlier long hike away.

It’s Mountain Monday! Today’s view is from historic Cherokee Ranch, located south of Denver, CO. It sits on the top of a mountain and looks across the valley at the towering Rocky Mountains and foothills to the west. Nice views, historic house, good tea to drink. Great place to visit!

It’s Mountain Monday! Feeling inspired by Christoph @beautysurroundsyou.com and his post of Mount Fitz Roy in Argentina this morning. Here’s mine from years ago when I stood on the bank of Lake Viedma and could see it in the distance (center left of photo). Patagonia is magical and a joy to visit!

It’s Mountain Monday! In honor of the Seahawks big win last night, today’s view features the iconic Seattle view from Kerry Park with the Space Needle and Mount Rainier. Was such a gorgeous summer day there when I took this pic. And loved Bad Bunny last night! Congratulations Seattle!

It’s Mountain Monday! Today’s view is taken from a plane leaving Seattle several years ago. Looking off to the south, you can see Mount Rainier most prominently in the center. If you zoom in, Mount St. Helen’s is off to the right horizon and Mount Adams is off to the left. May your skies be clear!
