A few months ago, I built a plan to restore factual reporting to millions of Americans — using nothing more than purchased airtime and basic civic responsibility. I sent it to Hollywood. What I learned from the responses (and the silence) became this story: Plan It, Hollywood. On Substack.

America Didn’t Give Us Much This Year. But Some Things Still Held. This Thanksgiving, we're not writing about pilgrims, pumpkin pie, or the sanitized myth we were all handed in grade school. I’m writing about what held this year when so much threatened to crack.

62 years ago today, in Dallas, the country changed course in an instant. Every November 22nd, I stop for a moment and sit with that loss. It still makes me emotional — the echo of what might have been never really fades.

EA’s $55 Billion Sale Isn’t Just About Games — It’s About Who Controls the Future of Play
What looks like a $55 billion gaming merger is really a geopolitical land grab — one that puts an authoritarian state at the center of AI, data, and digital play.

The film industry loves to expose cruelty—just never its own. From von Trier to Weinstein, we keep applauding men who turn abuse into art and call it genius. When cruelty hides behind a camera, we call it “vision.” When it hides anywhere else, we call the police.

The time to go on offense was during the budget proceedings. This is a distraction from the abject failure of Dems to fight that passage of that bill. They could have used the tool of quroum denial, but rolled over and played dead. This is performative b.s., and we see through it.

Small rural town North Dakota showed up today. This is a huge turnout for a population so small! #nokings #protests #nodak #northdakota
A group of people, mostly older adults and decorated veterans, march peacefully along a sidewalk in a small rural North Dakota town. Many carry large American flags and handmade protest signs. Some veterans wear decorated jackets or hats identifying their military service. The backdrop includes old brick buildings, grain elevators, and small-town street signs, highlighting the rural setting.A group of people, mostly older adults and decorated veterans, march peacefully along a sidewalk in a small rural North Dakota town. Fact is fact. Truth is truth. Unless we hold ourselves to the same standard which we hold those whom we stand against, we are no better than they are with regards to hypocrisy. Also, there is really no need to exaggerate the lack of humanity, the sociopathy in this regime.

A man with this level of mental decline on top of his glaring personality disorders isn’t capable of the messaging management you’re attributing to him. He’s a malignant narcissist with an infantile need for attention and no impulse control. If a family member acted out like this, you’d seek help.

A man who has spent his entire professional career breaking laws and trying to get one over on law enforcement and regulatory agencies does not “back the blue”. The hypocritical gaslighting of this man has no limit.

Left-leaning friends in those states who are considering running for office: Now is the time. Run on the GOP ticket. Sure, you may have to say some distasteful things while campaigning, but think of how you could do an about-face once you win, and tear the party down from within.

Focusing on Impeachment is truly a waste of finite resources like time, energy, and outrage. We have seen the result of two previous bites of this apple, and both were with far more favorable Congressional situations. Instead, perhaps we could refocus on agenda items that may be far more impactful.

I predicted this months ago. Still think the mid-terms are gonna turn things around, folks? Tough to have elections when opposition is outlawed and opposition leaders are jailed - probably without due process. Why do you think HSI are asking for the use of the National Guard?

Yet another piece of news that could make an actual impact to the non-MAGA, traditional GOP voter - a piece of news that they will never see. We *must* find a way to get good reporting to the entire country, not just those who make the effort to look for it.

A better idea would be laws against media deliberately spreading disinformation, and a Constitutional amendment that removes First Amendment protections from outright lies - whether on the campaign trail or while in office.

I recently posted a similar thought. I was gently reminded that this same type of rule was used to disenfranchise black voters in the South during the Jim Crow era. I don’t know that we want to give Republicans any further ideas on voter suppression.

Rupert Murdoch also has a very special place in hell for this. Without the incessant propaganda created by his media, OAN, Alex Jones, Bannon, etc. would have still been fringe. And the original walk down the escalator would have been met with derision, leading to a mostly ignored campaign.

I despise those virtue-signaling protest voters more than I do MAGA. At least the MAGA side know what they stand for. The protest voters are so far left that they’re right-wing, but also politically illiterate. The false equivalencies between the GOP and the Dems are beyond ill-informed.
