Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I don't know man, maybe don't name your defense department the "war department" and maybe don't bomb other countries, schools, or fishing boats indiscriminately. That might just help you a fraction. 000
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 10/10/2026You really want a spook factor you need to be like "in this hospital, no one has ever died" because that's more unusual and would lead to more unanswerable questions, like what sorcery is going on there that no one is dying? 000
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 10/10/2026In the spirit of the Halloween season, and something I have noticed: I have seen a lot of people while talking about old hospitals refer to them as "hospitals of death" for a spook factor and I am just like yeah, they're hospitals, inevitably people are going to die in them 100
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 08/10/2026As someone who is tired of hearing people try and push the myth of the clean Wehrmacht, this is an informative and thorough thread dispelling such myth. 021

Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I have had conversations with coworkers about this, my response has generally been they may have not been members on paper but they definitely fought and bled for the cause. If you have a table with 10 people and 8 of them are nazis then you have a table of 10 Nazis 040
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 06/10/2026For example: I don't like the movie series "Sing!" But if I had to I could "hate watch" it. When it comes to the latter you're just giving money to the (in this case awful) people. Who really wins there? 020
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Agreed. This might be me but I feel like "hate watching would only count in the case of the product (show/movie). And wouldn't be effective when it comes to the people/creators behind the products 120
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I guess I am going to go ahead and put some money down on a battle breaking out on Senlac Hill around 1066 010
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Also a bit funny, I was scrolling though a comment section of a thread post talking about his talk and there was a bunch people (white men) arguing he was being metaphorical and was talking about gambling "life choices"and not about you know actual gambling 010
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I feel like anger is the right impulse though. Really great video, glad I was able to watch it before it got taken down 000
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 27/09/2026When the truth of the matter is the exact opposite. History is exciting full of amazing stories and ripe of opportunity for debate and dialogue if we can only shift the focus off teaching it in that direction. 000
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 27/09/2026This is something very similar to what I have been arguing about history "being boring" that seeps even into K-12 education, and it all comes back to how it is getting structured and taught that sweets it up for failure and creates this facade of "boringness" 100

Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 17/09/202620 yr old me, Oaxaca Mexico ultimately would have also been relieved. But honestly just about any younger me would, as long as we are talking about the same younger me that was making every effort to skip our house in a neighboring farm to avoid Mutual (youth group) 010
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 17/09/2026I feel roughly the same, but yeah, that system is too infested with rot for me too ever want to go back. Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 08/09/2026You know what really gets me about all these people trying to push These "artificial intelligence" softwares? They are all people roughly my age, and they are like "can you imagine living without it or doing your job without it?" (1/2) 100
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I feel like what I struggled with was that my enunciation fluctuates even within a single conversation and so there were so many that I use interchangeably, which is why it probably nailed me down in the great plains which is just a mixing point of at least three dialects 010

Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 13/08/2026I sincerely do not understand people's obsession with trying to get AI to take over everything. The writing, compiling, and even researching of history is by its very essence a human endeavour. 270
Michael Hunter @mtharchived.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Given the insurmountable amount of undigitised collections in archives...I somehow doubt its ability to do that. We as humans on the other would have a much easier time. 260
