Interesting that this policy of DR is not a problem en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominic....
Migration has been taking place since the 1920s, when Haitian laborers were actively encouraged to come work in the thriving Dominican sugar industry. With modernization from the 1960s on, fewer workers were required, and other Dominican industries and services started employing more Haitian workers, often an inexpensive, less regulated labor source with fewer legal protections. Many Haitian women find work in Dominican households, and Haitian men at Dominican construction sites, often leading to the move of an entire family.[64]

A large number of migrated Haitian workers have continued to live in the Dominican Republic over several generations. The two governments have been unable to agree upon a legal framework to address the nationality of these descendants, leaving around one million people of Haitian ancestry in the Dominican Republic effectively stateless, restricting their access to health care, education and employment opportunities.[64]

That's right. Beginning in 1933, Jews were gradually removed from public life in Nazi Germany. From Jewish doctors not being reimbursed by public insurance, to prohibition to join libraries, to teach, to walk in certain parts of town, to own pets, to have radios or soap, to "the final solution."

A quick take: that shot of Schumer is antisemitic. Here are two parallel examples from Nazi Germany and the Arab world. "Space lasers" from a devilish creature could be chalked up as antisemitic as well.

Wait. Is that the same Sohran Ahmari who was born in Tehran and moved here at the age of 13? 😡
Ahmari was born in Tehran, Iran. In his 2012 book, Arab Spring Dreams, he writes that he was interrogated by security officials about his parents and faced disciplinary action as a child for accidentally bringing a videocassette of Star Wars into school at a time when Western films were officially banned in the country.[4] In 1998, at the age of 13, Ahmari moved with his family to the United States.[5][6]

Ahmari earned a J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston.[7] Between college and law school, Ahmari completed a two-year commitment to Teach for America in the Rio Grande Valley region of South Texas.[8]

While in law school, inspired in part by the protests following the disputed June 2009 Iranian presidential election, he began working as a freelance journalist, contributing pieces to publications such as The Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal, The New Republic, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Commentary among others.[9][10][11]

More #AIBS After Gemini suggested a source, I looked for it on Google. Google then offered a summary. But the article does not exist. Here are the screenshots of Google summary, & those of the actual issues of the academic journal. Janice Hutchinson, a scholar of Jewish history, does not exist.
This is a screenshot of Google summary of an article that does not exist by a scholar who does not exist:
Based on the bibliographic information provided, this is a scholarly article published in a prominent academic journal. Below is a summary of the context, focus, and typical themes found in Janice Hutchinson's "The Social and Cultural History of Jews in Atlantic City."Citation DetailsAuthor: Janice HutchinsonTitle: The Social and Cultural History of Jews in Atlantic CityJournal: Ethnic and Racial StudiesVolume/Issue/Year: Volume 17, Issue 2 (1994)Pages: 23–45Key Themes and Content FocusThis article explores the development of the Jewish community in Atlantic City, New Jersey, focusing on how this specific group integrated into, and shaped, the city's unique social and economic landscape, particularly as a resort town.Development of the Community: The article details the growth of the Jewish population from early settlement to its peak as a thriving community.Economic Impact: It analyzes the involvement of Jewish individuals in the boardwalk economy, including the hotel industry, retail, and entertainment.Social and Cultural Integration: Hutchinson explores how Jewish cultural institutions (synagogues, community centers) existed alongside the broader, often segregated, resort culture of Atlantic City.Resort Town Dynamics: The study highlights the tension between the transient nature of the city's visitors and the need for a stable, permanent Jewish community.Ethnic and Racial Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal, meaning this article offers a detailed, researched analysis of Atlantic City's social history.

Google claimed that the article by Janice Hutchinson, "The Social and Cultural History of Jews in Atlantic City" was published in Ethnic and Racial Studies Volume 17, Issue 2 (1994)Pages: 23–45.

Trouble is that the journal has consecutive pagination for the whole year. Vol. 2 does not have pp. 23-45. So I checked volume 1. The article does not exist:
vol. 1, pages including the purported article, have an article "Canada's pluralism in comparative perspective" by Leslie S. Laczko
Pages: 20-41

vol. 2: Original Articles

Article
Rethinking ethnicity: Identity, categorization and power
Richard Jenkins
Pages: 197-223

Abstract for Rethinking ethnicity: Identity, categorization and power

Pages: 224-237

So, a student was writing a paper on Jews in Atlantic City. I wanted to check what Gemini would suggest for a bibliography. It created a list including "Core historical texts and visual histories" and "Academic Journals." The trouble is that 2/4 books do not exist & none of the articles exist. #AIBS
This is a screenshot of bibliographic information generated by AI. These works do not exist.
2. Academic & Journal Articles

These sources provide a more analytical look at the social dynamics, discrimination, and economic shifts of the Jewish community.

Greene, Victor. "Jewish Recreational Culture in the United States, 1845–1945." Journal of American Ethnic History 21, no. 1 (2002): 15–38.

Contextualizes Atlantic City within the broader trend of Jewish resort life and the response to anti-Semitic "Gentile Only" policies.

Hutchinson, Janice. "The Social and Cultural History of Jews in Atlantic City." Ethnic and Racial Studies 17, no. 2 (1994): 23–45.

A sociological look at how the community maintained its identity while transitioning from a seasonal tourist economy to a permanent urban population.

Shlifer, Ira. "The Jewish Community of Atlantic City." Jewish Social Studies 32, no. 3 (1970).

An older but valuable snapshot of the community at a critical turning point—just before the decline of the city and the introduction of casinos. This is a screenshot of purported bibliographic information about Jews in Atlantic City. Two items do not exist. One item (Johnson) refers to Jews in one or two places.
1. Core Historical Texts & Visual Histories
These works provide the most comprehensive overview of the community’s growth from the late 19th century through the casino era.

Felsenstein, Frank. Jewish Life in Atlantic City (Images of America). Charleston, SC: Arcadia Publishing, 2016.

A visual history that tracks the community through hundreds of rare photographs, focusing on the "Golden Age" of the mid-20th century.

Friedman, Murray (Ed.). The Jews of Atlantic City. Philadelphia: Jewish Federation of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, 2003.

Regarded as the definitive written history, commissioned to document the transition of the community from the city to the suburbs.

Levi, Vicki Gold, and Lee Eisenberg. Atlantic City: 125 Years of Ocean Madness. New York: Clarkson N. Potter, 1979.

While a general history, Levi (a prominent Jewish historian of the city) provides deep insight into the Jewish-owned hotels and the social culture of the Boardwalk.

Johnson, Nelson. Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City. Medford, NJ: Plexus Publishing, 2002.

Essential for understanding the political landscape and the role of Jewish figures in the city’s early power structures.

As does this classic one from 1943. FDR was referring to Nazi book burning but we can think today about a new kind of book burnings: AI. People need to read books not rely on AI feeding them information. AI is the new tool of tyranny. #ThePosterHouse www.posterhouse.org/exhibition/r...
S. Broder poster from 1943 "Books are weapons in the war of ideas" quoting FDR "Books cannot be killed by fire. People die but books never die. No man and no force can put thought in a concentration camp forever. No man and no force can take from the world books that embody man's eternal fight against tyranny. In this war, we know books are weapons."

More such voices are needed blogs.timesofisrael.com/a-heartbreak...
They know that if someone calls the police or the army, they won’t come. And if they come, they will arrest the Arabs, not the Jews. And when they come after the fact, they will make noises that they’re investigating, but nothing will really happen. I saw in their eyes what it feels like to know that, in this place, your blood is hefker, worthless, ownerless. There is no one to protect you, and no way to protect yourself. While most Russian Jews went elsewhere, the early waves of the First and Second Aliyah were made up of Jews who took this feeling with them to Israel (then Palestinians), with the dream of building a home where we would not feel this way. Is this part of that dream? Is this what we came here for? To erase our own feelings of helplessness by forcing them onto someone else?

Terrific piece. So many insightful points. Minor copy edits: "histrionic" and "should have accomplished" instead of "should accomplished"
Among Cities Church’s pastors is Joe Rigney, who has recently become a MAGA media darling because he, along with podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey, has been pushing the idea that empathy is a sin. Rigney has partnered with Doug Wilson, a pastor who has praised race relations under slavery and denounced women’s suffrage, to argue that people are “being manipulated by empathy.” Rigney’s misogyny is never far from the surface, including when he denounced empathy as evidence that “feminism is a cancer” because it allows women to move beyond just being “life-givers and nurturers” and into public spaces, where their allegedly toxic compassion is a “curse.”

This includes law enforcement
POLICE MISCONDUCT
* Police officers constantly pull over cars driven by Latinos, for certain traffic violations, but rarely pull over white drivers for the same violations.

* A police officer questioning a man of Vietnamese origin on the street gets angry when the man is unable to answer his questions because he does not speak English. The Officer arrests the man for disorderly conduct.

These examples may be violations of the Equal Protection Clause of the United States Constitution. They may also be violations of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968. That law prohibits discrimination because of national origin, race, color, religion, or sex by a police department that gets federal funds through the U.S. Department of Justice. They may also violate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination by law enforcement agencies that receive any federal financial assistance, including asset forfeiture property.

Complaints of individual discrimination can be filed with the Federal Coordination and Compliance Section at

U.S. Department of Justice
Civil Rights Division
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Coordination and Review Section, 1425
Washington, D.C. 20530

or contact the Coordination and Review Section at 1-888-848-5306.

Complaints of individual discrimination may also be filed with the Office of Justice Programs at Office for Civil Rights, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D.C. 20531, or contact Office of Justice Programs at (202) 307-0690.

Hmm, isn't this against Federal Law? www.justice.gov/crt/federal-...
ssued October 2000 INTRODUCTION
Federal laws prohibit discrimination based on a person's national origin, race, color, religion, disability, sex, and familial status. Laws prohibiting national origin discrimination make it illegal to discriminate because of a person's birthplace, ancestry, culture or language. This means people cannot be denied equal opportunity because they or their family are from another country, because they have a name or accent associated with a national origin group, because they participate in certain customs associated with a national origin group, or because they are married to or associate with people of a certain national origin.

The Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division is concerned that national origin discrimination may go unreported in the United States because victims of discrimination do not know their legal rights, or may be afraid to complain to the government. To address this problem, the Civil Rights Division has established a National Origin Working Group to help citizens and immigrants better understand and exercise their legal rights. If you think you, or someone you know, has been discriminated against because of national origin and want to learn more about exercising your legal rights, you should read this brochure.

This brochure explains the laws prohibiting national origin discrimination and provides some examples. You may find additional information about the Civil Rights Division and its Sections on the internet at http://www.usdoj.gov/crt. You may contact the Division to report complaints of discrimination as explained below.

The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice enforces federal laws that prohibit discrimination in:

Employment
Housing
Lending
Public Accommodations
