A twilight sky with a deep blue hue, featuring a heart-shaped cloud illuminated by a bright streetlight on the left. Silhouettes of trees and distant mountains are visible along the horizon, creating a serene and dreamy atmosphere.

Absolutely! One thing that helps me remember to do alt text is turning on the forced alt text setting. Go to settings Go to accessibility Turn on the "require alt text to post" toggle And now you can't post images without alt text.

With the huge influx of new people around here, I'm gonna repost some stuff I wrote a bit ago about alt text. Some find it useful; some think it's fuckin' idiotic. I embrace both viewpoints wholeheartedly. eustace.link/hi-bluesky-i... eustace.link/hi-bluesky-l... eustace.link/hi-bluesky-y...

That's pretty awesome that there's a thing like that Like, that's so cool But yeah, then I'm with you, if you know the custom and actively choose to ignore it even after being told repeatedly 🤷‍♂️ gets stuffed buckaroo

every change that causes a new Twitter exodus seems to have one thing in common: making it more toxic Bluesky isn’t perfect, but it really is a nicer place to be, and the best thing we can do for all of us is keep it that way there aren’t any specific rules here - but, if you can, be kind

To me Feels like It's just a matter of giving them The benefit of the doubt and assume that they don't know they're supposed to tag/alt text images and pics, as Experienced users. It is partly your responsibility to help better New users, so the site can maintain it's quality Be kind to newbies 🙏

Just kindly inform them of their mistake, and advice them to be aware that they should use alt next moving forward That's the best you as a community can do 😌

100

Make sure you inform people of this social rule as many coming from Xitter won't know about it, it's important that people are given the benefit of the Doubt, and kindly educate on the new culture of this site Thank you for the information I'll. Be sure to use alt text appropriately now
