We killed the battery. Can't get it into neutral to push it back. Youngest son to the rescue with his portable car charger. Don't leave home without it.

My job is to "try it again" on command while Grampy tinkers. So far, no luck. Now we need to push it further back in the driveway. (Remember Grampy's accident? Still waiting for shoulder surgery.) No worries. He has a farm jack. A tow without a tow truck. Hooking it up now.

Back from a road trip. We had a bit of a waterfall theme, stopping at 4 different falls along the way. These are from Montmorency just outside Quebec City.

Heads up HaliSky Water is off in most of Eastern Passage due to a water main break. No estimate for when it will be back on. Maybe plan to go out to supper instead of cooking.

UPDATE - Halifax Water is asking residents to reduce water consumption as crews prepare to repair a water main. Conserving water will help maintain system pressure and support repair efforts while the work is underway. Please minimize use of running water, flushing toilets, or doing laundry during this time.

Halifax Water crews are on-site undertaking an emergency water main repair near 1377 Main Road, Eastern Passage. As a result, water service will be temporarily shut down in the area. This will impact a large portion of the Eastern Passage community. No estimate of service restoration time.

There will be stop-and-go traffic in the work zone. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.

Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this repair. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. To learn more about discoloured water and to report it, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.

My head just about exploded when I read this crack reporting from the Herald. "whether they want to or not" Why would anyone want to live independently with necessary supports when they could be kept in an institution for the rest of their life?

Members of the province’s disabled community have a wide spectrum of needs and all can’t be expected to follow Bennett’s example. But they will all soon be living independently, whether they want to or not, with a variety of supports tailored to their individual needs.

Shubie grabbed an entire egg puff off my plate and swallowed it. Egg puff is full of onion and onion is toxic for dogs. Shubie is now at the emergency vet getting checked out.

This sofa and love seat are looking for a new home. The cat (not included) has used both on occasion as scratching posts. Both pieces prefer an informal environment, possibly a rec room or cottage, but wouldn't refuse other offers. Free to a good home (or any home, we don't judge). DM if interested

This maple tree in my backyard has filled out over the last 2 weeks. It doesn't feel like it today, but spring is here.

I just did that at work. Took out the closet rod, put in adjustable shelves, and bought a bunch of bins. Put labels on all the bins, and presto, everything stays neat. The labels are the key. Easy to put things in their place and easy to find it when you need it. Here's the closet before the bins.

In today's episode of Things Could be Worse, here is a FB memory from 11 years ago (2015 for the people who struggle with math). This is the only time I remember loaders and dump trucks hauling snow away from my street because there was absolutely no place to put it, and it was the end of March.

I bought this to store some of grandbaby #1's toys that wouldn't be safe for her baby sister. I was making labels to keep things organized. Labels mean nothing to a 3 year old. As I was labeling, she just started putting things away in what is clearly the logical way to do it. No labels required.

HaliSky I have two sets of winter tires on rims to give away. They each probably only have a winter left in them, but what do you want for free, and then you have rims. One set was on a 2012 Mazda 3 the other on a 2013 Mazda 3. Sizes are in the photos. Second set in first comment.
