This is the leadership California needs

appreciate your filling me in/nudging me to actually look it up for myself)! assuming you're referring to David Costello(?), he seems solid enough- hope he starts making more noise/getting better coverage

has defended a thesis and presented at conferences and written an op-ed for the student paper and added a few other new lines to my CV this year, but (with all respect to my esteemed colleagues on these publications), this is definitely my most important authorship credit of 2025

So incredibly proud of the work @raymopt.bsky.social, @obrienemj.bsky.social, @faithstoneking.bsky.social, and the rest of LSU's Consortium for the Advancement of Suicide Prevention have done on campus and in our community for National Suicide Prevention Week/World Suicide Prevention Day.

Tips for Supporting Friends Who Are Thinking about Suicide

About 12% of young adults (almost 4,000 LSU students) have serious thoughts of suicide each year

What Can I Do?
- Break the silence. Start the conversation.
- If you're worried about your friend, you can ask if they are thinking about suicide
- Talk openly and directly about suicide
- Be warm, encouraging, supportive, and offer a listening ear
- Ask how you can support them; say, "I am here for you, how can I best support you?"

Who Can I Ask for Help?
- Did you know, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 (24/7) to talk to a counselor about suicide, and figure out how to help your friend?
- In an emergency, call 911

don't worry, friend- even if you never end up becoming PM, Canada will still break the curse before the Sharks win a cup

Never going to forgive my freshman year roommate from Boston for teaching me to love this stupid, wonderful sport #GoKingsGo

Say what you want to about Louisiana politics, but the "I Voted" sticker is simply top-notch
