He can't be that skint if he's got £190m for his 43% of Palace. And Marinakis is by many accounts an awful human being and someone I am very uncomfortable being the owner of my football club, for what it's worth.

Mike @mspendl828.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

This whole thing was clearly a conspiracy organised by Textor and Marinakis back in 2021 when Textor bought his 40% of Palace. It's so obvious now

Mike @mspendl828.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

Yeah, I think clubs should follow the rules that the competitions they play in have in place. I didn't realise that was such a radical viewpoint.

000

Mike @mspendl828.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

Sorry, I'm a hypocrite because I think it was right that Forest were deducted points for breaking PSR and I think it's right that UEFA have demoted Palace over multi club ownership?

100

Mike @mspendl828.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

No, it was 'rules are rules' when we were deducted four points two seasons ago because we waited too long to sell Johnson to Spurs. Now, do I think PSR rules are ridiculous? Yes, I do. But thinking a rule is wrong doesn't give you carte blanche to break them with immunity.

100

Mike @mspendl828.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

What exactly did Forest do, other than ask UEFA to confirm what competition they'd be playing in? It's not as if no one knew about the Palace ownership until Forest suddenly and dramatically revealed this secret owner of 40% of the club no one knew about 🤷

110

Mike @mspendl828.bsky.social · 12/08/2025

They had a deadline to sort their ownership out and they didn't. I don't understand why this isn't considered incredibly cut and dry. In the same way Forest had a deadline to avoid PSR breaches and they missed it so got a points deduction. Fixing a problem after a deadline isn't good enough.

@mattdaviesff.bsky.social Matt, can you please tell all your contributors that it's Jesus with a J and hot Jesus with a H. They speak Portuguese in Brazil and it's infuriating me every day listening to otherwise intelligent people not knowing this!

3-1. Really nice finish by Elliot Osborne for Altrincham, curling the ball in the bottom corner just before halftime #NFFC

Mike @mspendl828.bsky.social · 02/08/2025

3-0! Altrincham can't clear a Forest B corner and after an attempt on goal is well saved Justin Hanks scores at the far post #NFFC

Cast iron penalty. Alty again caught out trying to pass out from the back, Berry winning the ball and playing in the No. 9 who was taken out from behind. Berry finds the bottom corner. 2-0 to Forest B #NFFC

1-0! Adam Berry steals the ball away from a Alty defender and beats the keep the with a very smart finish #nffc

It's only a friendly, and it doesn't matter, and I'm a fool for watching it, etc etc But I do love watching Sangaré. Just absolute class. If he can be fit for a whole season he's going to be so important. #NFFC

I do occasionally think about how different it might have been if he'd connected properly and scored against West Ham instead of it bouncing off his ankle and setting up T! Charitably, I'm not sure he was ever really fully fit during that season youtu.be/U7NkwoYTi_Q?...

I'm too old to get angry about football, but what on earth has happened to our defence to turn it from one of the best in the league to what we've had over the last month or so? Just bizarre #NFFC

Eight assists for Elanga. The only players with more are Salah, Saka and Antonee Robinson. But the idiots will keep calling him wasteful because we don't score every time he has the ball. #NFFC

Mike @mspendl828.bsky.social · 01/02/2025

That's now seven assists for the "wasteful" Anthony Elanga this season. More than Cole Palmer, Son Hueng-Min, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimarães, Jarrod Bowen, etc etc etc... #NFFC

Finally, for now, I have to mention it's also the 56th anniversary of the Rutles' rooftop performance at the conclusion of the Let It Rot sessions. I couldn't track down any contemporary news coverage of the event, but we do have footage www.youtube.com/watch?v=amiB...

Neil's hang ups on digital sound meant he kept claiming certain records of his didn't sound good enough on CD for him to be happy to release. On the Beach was eventually released on a HDCD in 2003 because a mere CD didn't do the record justice, to Neil's ears anyway 🤷
