According to Jonathan R. Eller, Hitchcock asked Bradbury to adapt THE BIRDS, but the writer requested a delay, which Hitch couldn’t accommodate. The results would have been interesting, since Hitch allowed significant changes from screenwriters (like Stefano with PSYCHO) @illinoispress.bsky.social
