Designed another interactive poster for my classroom. A student already asked how long it took me to make this. (Not very long thanks to copy and paste.) I have another student who can't wait to draw n=4 of the koch curve. Still looking for more ideas!! #iteachmath #mtbos

Looking for ideas to use my classroom decor to invite my students to interact with math. Not something to distract them, but for the in between times. I have plenty of blocks and puzzles - think more like patterns and posters they can see from their desks. #iteachmath #mtbos #mathart #middleschool

Dr. Pam Seda (@pamseda1.bsky.social) aligned science's CER to math and I CANNOT wait to implement this with my students!! So many anchor charts are coming!!!! #MathMomentsSummit #iTeachMath #mtbos #EduSky
A google slide that says "Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) - Clearly define for students what you expect from them when solving problems."

Learning from @pamseda1.bsky.social at the #MathMomentsSummit about how to disrupt the sorting of students that keeps certain kids at the bottom. She's talking about how to teach students so all achieve higher levels (not necessarily the same levels). #iTeachMath #mtbos #EduSky

7s finding the ratio of circumference to diameter. Imagine their surprise when the hula hoop and flower pot both had a value of about 3! It was a cool moment, especially for kids who had heard of π & could sing 100-digits but didn't know why it was special! #HoldingMath #EDUsky #iTeachMath #mtbos

On a mission to make math as hands-on as science. There's no reason students shouldn't be holding math every day! Here are my students discovering cross-sections. Let's share more!! What are your favorite hands-on math moments? Use #HoldingMath or reply here!! #iTeachMath #edusky #mtbos

Want to really engage your math students? Let all 21 stand at your whiteboards at once & solve a problem that looks like a butt. This will only work if you refer to it as a butt several times before setting them loose on it! They did great! #mtbos #iTeachMath #EDUsky #BuildingThinkingClassrooms

Teaching students integers with 2-color counters as an introductory strategy. After, we made number lines. Then, a student pointed out there were patterns with addition and subtraction. Watching them generalize in real time... Got them!! #ITeachMath #mtbos
