Echo Shards could be required for the most powerful or currently unrenewable enchantments, like soul speed or mending, to have another good reason to go to the Sift

@jebox.bsky.social Since the Sift is pretty magical and even uses Sift materials in enchanting in Dungeons 2, I think it would be the perfect time to update the magic stuff we have just a bit. Nothing too complicated, just enough to make it feel fresh and more engaging.

I wonder if they're doing the Sift first to properly figure out what they want the End to be. We got some End in dungeons1 but it was only a small piece, if they want to do an entire end rework they'd need to make it something the other dimensions aren't. Like the opposite of the Sift or something

With Vulkan now being the default, I will forever hope that some Dungeons art direction comes to vanilla. Fluid and weightful animations, 3d tools, current flat misc blocks like rails and flowers getting depth, more filler blocks, mob variant textures... It'd just make the game so much more alive

So world gen gets laggier and laggier while the modded biomes get rarer for each mod you add to the list, even if the mod adds only one new biome

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
@jebox.bsky.social Itd be nice if at some point, the world gen data was edited to where biome mods could clip onto the original biomes instead of replacing the entire original data file. Rn if you want multiple biome mods, you need a compatibility mod, and each mod adds a copy of the original biomes

even if it takes entirely new blocks to allow different connection types and a lot of fiddling around with making it easy to read i think it could be worth it so there isn't a mountain of differences between both versions.

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
it would take up an entire update cycle but it might be worth making a drop dedicated to making redstone blocks configurable-ingame and parity that allow bedrock and java style redstone on both platforms. bedrock redstone is more simple but java offers a lot more. having both at once would be good

All rails' crafting recipes change to nuggets to give even more rails. Powered rails could be made with copper instead of gold to be less expensive early game. Super powered rails could be made with gold that makes minecarts nearly as fast as iceboats but gives a chance to derail at sharp turns.

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 31/05/2026
Minecarts: Should be able to be linked together so trains don't bounce into eachother. Furnace minecart could become a steam engine with a fuel Ui as a revamped alternative to powered rails. Crossroads rail that allows intersections on tracks. A new rail that stops and releases a minecart +

Basic foods should give boons to the player to justify eating them, things like lesser potion effects in a way. Saturation becomes visible on the hunger bar. Hunger should be punishing but also an opportunity. Trading: Villagers can be safely changed to biome trades once other issues are sorted +

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 31/05/2026
Combat: More enemy Ai variations, and more enemies that make use of high health and armor; most enemies just walk at you to be hit right now. More weapon types that arent gimmicks that give more playstyles (crowd control, high attack speed, power attacks, ect) Hunger: Advanced foods and even some +

Must. If you collect an item that can be used in brewing, it opens up a new branch on the recipe tree. Potions become tiered to make early and late game brewing a thing so potions can be a staple; drip pot that lets you make lesser potions and brewing stand lets you make a combine high tier pots +

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 31/05/2026
Enchanting: Remove most of the rng. Enchantments become unlockable, and allow you to choose how you enchant an item. Anvil: Repairs should not be capped nor made expensive. This nerfs mending by making it unrequired. Brewing: Potions can be stacked to 16. Potion recipe book/tree is +

These are all the gameplay systems' problems that I could come up with. I like that the current philosophy is to support all playstyles, but I really hope that includes the survival game playstyle, especially since that's how a lot of people fell in love with the game. Some reworks I think of are+

Fast and easier to gain access to. Minecarts also having odd physics with eachother and easy to set off on a power rail on accident all compounds into players leaving them behind.

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 31/05/2026
Everything falls apart really quick, which is why the playerbase reacted so strongly to the villager rebalance. Minecarts are the most obvious transport system yet it seems the least powerful. Rails are such a heavy resource cost and take a long time to set up, meanwhile other transport is super +

A compound of several of the above problems. Most players turn to trading because the alternatives kind of suck, which makes villagers overpowered. They have everything a player would need to get what they want. In a vacuum they could be nerfed, but if that's done without fixing other issues, +

Viable reason to make them outside of the "eat everything" achievement. You make a farm of one food and that's it, there's no pressure about what to bring with you. Saturation also being a hidden mechanic also leaves players questioning why their hunger drains quickly with no answer. Trading is +

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 31/05/2026
Hunger has been kind of out of the way since forever, despite being what should be a big aspect of surviving. Hunger constantly drains, but since food is not hard to acquire it ends up being an annoyance with no benefits to be gained. Most foods are also not worth investing in since there's no +

combat was designed around the sword and bow, making the other weapons feel unreliable. Current enemy design has remained unchanged since the game's inception, which means the solution has stayed the same. Without variations in Ai, mob health, armor, ect surviving monsters has little variation +

Potions themselves being niche due to them not being able to stack. Every potion base other than awkward being useless seems to be a waste of resources without telling the player. Lingering potions are hard to figure out for an average player. There's a handful of weapons in minecraft, but +

This means you're forced to use it. Since enchanting gear sucks so much because of this, many people quit a world if their gear is lost. Brewing being locked to the nether and having no recipe book means many new players are gatekept from learning how to use it and accessing potions. +

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 31/05/2026
Enchanting is based on RNG, which used to be fine as the cost was low and the enchantment pool small, but now there's a heavy resource cost and time sink in order to enchant for a not guaranteed reward. The anvil having a resource cap means unrenewable items are lost forever without mending. +

that was dedicated to providing a survival experience with sandbox gameplay, while now the focus seems to be a sandbox experience with survival on the side. This causes issues with those who still crave that survival aspect since... almost the entire gamemode is run on outdated mechanics lol. +

@jebox.bsky.social After this drop I think the overworld has gotten the attention it needed... Ik the Live said there's a long term focus on adventuring, but I think updating gameplay systems is just as important for longevity. @jebox.bsky.social A surprise minecraft live with the specific wording "big drop" is making people riled up. A lot of speculation this will be the first "big update sized drop" we're going to get. Should the community temper their expectations so they aren't disappointed, or is this hype moments?

@losermakesgames.bsky.social For obituary, or other legacy songs with lyrics, what if you made several different variations for each pose that mouths out a word sound, so the character can be charted to look like they're saying the lyrics without manually animating the entire thing

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
the same pattern but worse since it feels like they're always in a rush and the update quality has suffered for it. instead of quarterly, they probably should have gone for three a year instead

MrYeet123 @mryeet123.bsky.social · 20/05/2026
i think the cracks in the system are starting to show with each new drop. there's so many missed opportunities and the only feedback features that get added are small ones early in development, and even that's rare
