Apparently just a little more hope & less doom - probably one question worth - changes the result. The techbro/neoluddite split result would be more surprising if there had been fewer questions about AI. Now I have to go read up on Carney to decide if I’m pleased or insulted by the results.
My results from the woke-chud tech-ludd hope-doom Davros-Dubai political questionnaire:
75% woke, 25% chud
48% techbro, 52% neoluddite
70% hopepilled, 30% doomer
94% Davros, 6% Dubai

According to the quiz, my closest political match is Mark Carney.

It’s possible that I did not know the meaning of “arms akimbo” until I was in my 20s and saw the villain of that name on a cartoon (Freakazoid).
Cartoon still image of Freakzoid villain Arms Akimbo, a man with white skin and a thin black mustache, wearing a brown double-breasted suit and fedora, and standing arms akimbo.

My morning so far:
Tech: So before your MRI, please change into a hospital gown, then put your clothes and belonging into the locker. I’ll come back to get you shortly.

Me: Got it! <Changes into gown, puts stuff in locker, sits down to wait.>

<Stands up.>

<Reads every sign in the 8’ x 8’ waiting area.>

Me: Good, good - the certificate of compliance with the Radiation Protection Act of 1990 is update.

<Paces out rough measurement of waiting area.>

<Opens locker, takes out phone.>

Currently the Chicago River but for my hometown of Brooklyn, while the technically correct answer is the East River, what I think of first is the Gowanus Canal.

The #1 movie when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 is going to go. Apparently there are two ways to count box office gross? So search results gave me two different answers, yielding wildly divergent predictions for the coming year.

More reporting like this please:
Screenshot of an excerpt from the linked Sun-Times article:

“…appreciate what you're doing,' because most of Chicago does want this," said Goone, a suburbanite who works in casino marketing.
"These people just are doing their jobs."
Goone praised the officers for going after "illegals for coming here illegally."
What did Goone think of the protesters?
"This here is organized by George Soros and antifa, and I wouldn't doubt that half are being paid to protest," [underlined by me] Goone speculated without any evidence. [end underlining] "I don't understand what they're doing."
The agents' presence downtown is the latest part of a campaign by Trump's administration against immigration. The administration announced the launch of "Operation Midway Blitz" on Sept. 8, bringing a flood of federal officers to the Chicago area to conduct raids and arrests.
Since then, hundreds of Chicago-area residents have been arrested.

This feels appropriate.
Screenshot of text excerpted from Frederick Douglass's Fourth of July speech in 1852: "Fellow citizens; above your national, tumultuous joy, I hear the mournful wail of millions ... I do not hesitate to declare, with all my soul, that the character and conduct of this nation never looked blacker to me than on this 4th of July. Whether we turn to the declarations of the past, or to the professions of the present, the conduct of the nation seems equally hideous and revolting. - Frederick Douglass, 1852"

I was rereading the SUPERMAN SON OF KAL-EL 2021 Annual and spotted something I missed the first time @gailsimone.bsky.social
In the Fortress of Solitude, an AI projection of Clark Kent asks Jon Kent “What’s been happening?” Jon answers, “I saved a polar bear. I’m going to call her Gail.” “That’s a fine name for a bear,” AI phantom Clark replies.

Chicago Sun-Times headline and subhead: “Hands Off protest in downtown Chicago draws thousands criticizing Trump’s policies - Also held in the suburbs and across the country, the demonstrations are taking aim at the administration’s recent actions, including layoffs of federal workers, cuts in funding for social services and removal of protections for transgender people.”

No disagreement here, but this screenshot shows the position of your post in my feed and it took me a moment to get that it probably wasn’t meant as political commentary about suing the Trump administration.
Link and article preview posted Bluesky: “www.courthousenews.com

Followed by (unrelated) skeet from Ennie: “Sometimes litigation is a means of resolving disputes. Sometimes it's watching someone throw 9-volt battery after 9-volt battery into the garbage disposal in their own kitchen.”

Does anyone understand why NBC appears to have called Missouri for Trump at 8:05pm CST with 6% of the votes counted and Harris ahead 51/48 without any votes from St. Louis City or County? AP hasn't called it yet.

The New York Times
OPINION | THE EDITORIAL BOARD
You already know Donald Trump.
He is unfit to lead. Watch him.
Listen to those who know him best.
He tried to subvert an election and remains a threat to democracy.
He helped overturn Roe, with terrible consequences. Mr. Trump's corruption and lawlessness go beyond elections: It's his whole ethos. He lies without limit. If he's re-elected, the G.O.P. won't restrain him. Mr. Trump will use the government to go after opponents.
He will pursue a cruel policy of mass deportations. He will wreak havoc on the poor, the middle class and employers. Another Trump term will damage the climate, shatter alliances and strengthen autocrats. Americans should demand better. Vote.
The New York Times editorial board is a group of opinion journalists whose views are informed by expertise, research, debate and certain longstanding values. It is separate from the newsroom.

^This^ A guy near us (we’re watching in Indy) just found out the hard way when he looked through his binoculars (on top of his eclipse glasses) at the sun for a couple of seconds and the light melted holes in the film. (He thinks he turned his head before he did any damage to his eyes.)
Importantly, eclipse glasses shouldn’t be used with binoculars, cameras or telescopes, Fienberg says. The optics of those viewing apparatuses can concentrate the light even beyond what the eclipse glasses can block. Special solar filters designed for binoculars, cameras and telescopes exist and should be used by anyone looking at the eclipse with more than just their eyes.
