From what I see in my neighborhood, the complaints are not really about “e-bikes” but “electric motorcycles” that go like 40mph, and 13 year olds are riding them on major state roads. In our local law, e-bikes are in a category where they’re only powered while pedaling. It’s assistive.

I don’t think that’s really that weird. Ella Langley has slightly less monthly Spotify listeners as Nirvana. She has 1/3 the monthly listeners as Bad Bunny, who many Americans proudly claimed to have never heard of when he was the Super Bowl Halftime show.
