iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Don’t be like my college best friend who said, “why do you have to do this to me???” when I told her I was bi 🙄 that was… 20+ years ago & I still remember how disappointed I was.

Fucking Bill Gothard, oh my god 😳🤬🫪☠️

Oh my god, chapter 7 is triggering and enraging. THIS is where my mother got the saying “you need to focus on becoming a woman someone would WANT to marry”, absolutely destroying my tween self-esteem. No mention or focus on my OWN inherent value - nope, I need to become appealing to a man and

Continuing on with Live Laugh Love, and I am learning so much about Elisabeth Elliot that was NOT taught in my Southern Baptist upbringing 🫪 I put the ebook on hold at the library because I need to reread this and do some highlighting and research.

Finished Audacity of Hope. I miss President Obama so much 😭 at least he was smart and coherent and could be reasoned with! He definitely did plenty of bad shit during his terms as president, I don’t want to discount that, but lord.

Finished Verity. Absolute trash, 1 star, no more Colleen Hoover for me.

000

Reading Verity, and this line is how I feel about this book: “I’d trolled Verity’s reviews before coming here, and in nine out of ten of them, the reviewer referenced wanting to throw their Kindles or books across the room.”

000

Holy shit yes, why did I not make this connection earlier!!

060

I’m so grateful for my dear A 🥰 he never complains when I crank down the A/C and/or turn up the ceiling fan when I’m having a hot flash! He puts another blanket layer on his side of the bed and carries on. Reading about all the unsupportive & uncaring partners is infuriating.

Nothing is more violent than Christian “love”

👀👀 just learned about Sofia Isella and started listening to her music and … bye bye eardrums

Reading: Verity by Colleen Hoover: this may be the only Colleen Hoover book I ever read. I am STRUGGLING. Audacity of Hope: had to renew the library loan for the millionth time 😭 Live, Laugh, Love: constantly want to reach back through time and bitch-slap some people

Knitting/crochet, reading, and redoing my nails are on the agenda for this weekend, along with checking out a (secular/atheist) ACA meeting, playing with the cat, and sleeeeeeeping.

I made the mistake of taking a break in phone banking and reading these screenshots… at least I’ll have a positive/happy note in my voice for my next few calls?!

burns like fire @mrrb.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Phone banking for @angieforfl.bsky.social and I’m so pleased to hear the number of people who a) answer in the first place b) are excited to vote for her OR c) want info to learn about her! Knock on wood, no jerks (yet) tonight! (I just hang up & mark them “refused”, no time to argue tonight!)

Resharing this! Come join us if you live in Florida & want to learn about Amendment 3.

It’s manicure time! Got my computer time done: using my experience in capitalist accounting hellscape to track financials for my environmental group, to help a friend untangle her confusion over student loans, to sign up for phone banking for Angie, and to do poll watcher training.

Productive morning: 7.79 miles on the under desk elliptical Lifted heavy for arms/chest Cooked tofu for breakfasts Cooked veg & portioned out into freezer containers for lunches Did the dishes Now laying on the couch elevating my feet before I shower & do some computer work for my volunteering

110

Anyone have any suggestions? I’m curious too!

Local Play It Again shops don’t have any in stock; the model I have at home is on sale for $140 at Dick’s Sporting Goods. I’ll just keep using the treadmills in the gym at work.

Feet were too puffy this morning to risk a walk outside, so I’m pedaling away on my little under-desk elliptical. I seriously want to get one of these for work (it’s too unwieldy to schlep it back & forth between work & home)!

Well, fuck. Gonna be sending this to some fellow white women who are all about the nonprofits 🫠👀

I am seriously rotating through about five books right now and I wish I could just inject them straight into my braaaaaaain. Reading with my eyes isn’t enough, I need to listen to a book too! My TBR is up to 824 books. I wish I were independently wealthy so I could knit/crochet and read all day.

Saw this book on r/exvangelical and started a readalong with a friend who is also interested in this topic. I have to take a break at the end of this chapter (2). Lots to think over and unpack. Glad to be knitting while listening - keeping my hands busy & working in 3D while processing this shit 😭

Hey friends - especially if you live in CFL - join us! You don’t have to be a member to join this call. This is important for ALL voters, whether you rent OR own, so come listen in to learn how Amendment 3 is BAD NEWS BEARS.

Perfect timing for fiscal year-end.

brb, growing a mossy coat & moving to the forest

Someone I follow shared this article, and it is relevant for me today. I’m enjoying ambient noise today: birds & cicadas, the A/C cycling on or off, & occasionally a car driving past. It’s so nice to take a break from music, movies, audiobooks, podcasts… (now I just need the loudmouth cat to STFU!)

As I read The Audacity of Hope, published in 2006, I keep having the same two thoughts: • for all his flaws, I really miss Obama as President • so much of this book is prescient - it’s fucking spooky (Currently in Chapter Five: Opportunity)

I’ll say one thing for this Pride game: I got a lot of knitting done on my blanket’s border; managed to turn the corner while I listened to the assistive reading function on my kindle struggle through The Audacity of Hope.

And yet we wonder how the Cornell 57 could happen 🙄

I’m catching up on podcasts and have heard several really good episodes the last couple of days! The Climate Denier’s Playbook is back! It was a good reminder to turn my auto-stop back on. This episode of Why I Knit with Salina Jane is reassuring and encouraging ❤️‍🩹

Yes!!! I feel so fucking seen when I read a Murderbot novella or a Raksura book, or when I read some of my romances where the MCs unpack unhealthy childhoods and evolve into healthy relationships. AI/LLMs can’t fucking do that.

My mornings are so much nicer when a) I don’t wake up sweaty and b) I don’t have to take a shower. Bonus for this Monday morning: outdoor temp is 67°F/19°C, so I didn’t break into a sweat when I opened the front door.
