Laravel devs, have you ever added something like this? Optional Sanctum auth where the bearer token is used when present, but guests are still allowed through. Curious how you handle this in your projects.

- Profanity: scan your codebase for swear words - PHPStan: static analysis - Rector: automate Pest refactors and migrations - Plugins: extend Pest with more tooling And that's still not the full list.

- Tia: only run the tests affected by your changes - Agent: let AI agents verify changes using your actual test suite - Evals: test AI-generated outputs - Test dependencies: let tests depend on other tests - Higher Order Testing: write tests with less boilerplate

- Browser testing: test your app in a real browser - Architecture testing: enforce how your codebase should be structured - Stress testing: see how your app handles load - Mutation testing: check whether your tests actually catch bugs - Type coverage: see how much of your code is properly typed

Laravel AI SDK v1 added `decide()` to Stringable. You can ask a string a yes/no question, define your criteria, and even set a confidence threshold. Very Laravel. 👀

Exactly 💯 We should know what we what and what's the direction AI don't know everything and it assumes a lot!

AI can build more software than ever. But I’m starting to think the harder part is knowing what’s actually worth building. Does AI make that easier too?

Found a Laravel package that asks a slightly scary question: “What changed on my production server?” Laravel Scalpel can scan for rogue PHP files, obfuscated code, modified server rules and unexpected filesystem changes. 🔪

Laravel Boost This one is for coding agents. It gives agents access to useful information about your Laravel project, along with Laravel docs, guidelines, tools and skills. Basically, it helps an agent work with a Laravel codebase without you having to explain everything yourself.

Laravel Moat This one isn't an AI package, but it's worth knowing about. It checks your GitHub setup for things like 2FA, branch protection, secret scanning, workflow permissions and other security settings. Especially useful when more automation is touching your repositories.

Laravel Vet This is probably my favorite one. When Composer updates a package, Vet can show you what changed before you trust the new code. You can review it yourself or send the changes to Claude, Codex or Gemini for review. Then you decide. github.com/laravel/vet

Laravel PAO This one is easy to miss. It makes output from things like Pest, PHPUnit, PHPStan and Artisan easier for coding agents to work with. You still get the normal output when you're using the tools yourself. laravel.com/blog/introdu...

Laravel MCP This goes in the other direction. Instead of helping an AI work on your codebase, you can expose parts of your Laravel application to AI clients. Tools, resources and prompts can become available to the client. laravel.com/docs/mcp

PHP 8.6 lets you partially apply functions with `?`. No need to write the closure yourself. This is a surprisingly nice little addition.

AI coding agents don't need prettier terminal output. They need less noise. Laravel PAO gives agents compact, structured output from tools like Pest, PHPStan and Artisan while keeping the normal developer output unchanged. 🤖

AI coding agents are often better at extending a codebase than inventing how it should work. Before asking it to build something, I like asking: > Find the existing code that's most similar to this. The codebase usually has better instructions than we do.
