i've been working on my game again, right? i think i'm close to finding a pace that feels comfortable for me. game dev feels fun again, though there are still mental blocks in the way. focusing on the most vital parts (programming + writing) first made a big difference

I'm still struggling to adjust to it, especially with the C-PTSD, yeah, but my life right now is in a good place. My job doesn't pay enough so I can live alone, but I'm saving. I have friends who I can talk to, even if my brain forgets that. I'm working on a big personal project, too. It's nice.

On the last stretches of the hiring process. Honestly, the whole process has been super sketchy for how long it's been taking... I'd say... but my employer is the government, so the endless bureaucracy is par for the course. Takeaway here is that I'll be writing programs for money and that's a yay.

Not sure if this is a hot take, but the apparently frequent cheating or borderline cheating with Ai in University seems to me less about Ai and more about how sick the system has gotten. Compare for example to learning from a teacher to graft trees. In that case, cheating would be absurd. Why?

I've yet to find a light mode syntax highlighting theme that I think is "perfect." Atom One Light is the best light theme I know, but no light themes make me go "Wow, this is gorgeous!" Atom One Dark is my favourite dark mode sxhx, though.

I took a break from serious coding, on my DAW and on UI graphics library, to keep my mind fresh before it got overwhelming. In my break I learned more about real time ray tracing. Well, now UI libraries don't scare me any more.
