NYT crossword today was INTENSE!

Meant to take the holiday decorations down but instead I finished my puzzle (the first part) and then made gyros and blueberry chocolate with the kids.

Hello new followers! I’m guessing I got on a Starter Pack, but please reply and let me know how you got here.

I was literally just trying to figure this out for myself. Always forget about starter packs.

Paying awesome folks to be creative is one of my favorite things. So glad to have had you on the project! 🦖

Wife and kids are out of town for a couple weeks doing family stuff, which means I am once again considering streaming video games. If you would like to see me play Overwatch Stadium with a bunch of arguably unnecessary commentary, let me know!

That adhd moment where you brain simultaneously says go to the bathroom, switch the laundry, find your daughter’s Halloween costume, and tell your wife about the video game you started playing while she was out of town all at once and very loudly.

Recently watched all the John Wick and Equalizer films, great stuff! I didn't realize there was that much Jack Ryan.

I do like Thrillers, tension, vibes, some spookiness. Vast of Night is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 16/10/2025

Speaking of Horror, I do like SOME, but not the Horror you're thinking of. :P My horror is Signs, Nope, VVitch, not a gore or body horror fan. Honestly, probably safe to not do horror, but if you want to take the challenge, go for it!

Found Footage. I LOVE found footage, but unfortunately most of it is jump scare horror. I'm a big fan of Chronicle, Troll Hunter, and Project Almanac

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 16/10/2025

Action Thriller. I'm thinking Reacher, Bourne movies, Mission Impossible, stuff like that. I also liked Shooter and Hitman recently.

I'm desperate for movie recommendations. This will be a thread of posts describing some movies/genres I'm into and if you have a good suggestion for one, please let me know!

Thank you for sharing! I don't actively work on my games anymore, but if you have an idea for a low-effort way to translate Mall Kids, I'd be happy to make the translated version available.

My game client crashes and I get a temp suspension from queueing, meanwhile I haven't had a game in a week where someone didn't leave in a huff, but sure, I'm the problem.

Apparently everyone is taking a quick break from work to play Overwatch.

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

I’m glad you tried it! Honestly I can’t imagine playing regular OW anymore. This is the game I want!

010

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 17/09/2025

Are you playing Stadium? It seems like the mini bolas build is pretty standard, but you can also just build for general take aim boosts. Either way, you simply need to master the dash/take aim mechanics to make anything work.

100

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 17/09/2025

This is where you'd put me if you ever want to torture me for information.

040

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 17/09/2025

Yeah, it's a huge damage output boost and a movement utility buff as well. If you're not utilizing the take aim refresh, you are literally not playing Freja. :P

110

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 17/09/2025

Plus, added bonus, doing a mid-air dash resetting take aim means you can do the scope slow fall thing up to 3 (sometimes 4 if you time them right) pauses in midair, which makes her much more mobile and maintains her height advantage. Still need decent aim, but this is what I was struggling with.

110

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 17/09/2025

The interaction was that her dash resets take aim, which I wasn't utilizing, so i was using take aim 66% less than I could have, and that's her big damage dealer (plus what a lot of her stadium powers are for). So I was getting no elims because I'd do one take aim burst and then HOPE to land shots.

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 16/09/2025

That original video came across my feed a week or so back and within seconds I knew what it was going to be and what it was going to cause. How do creators get so far in the process without having ANY awareness? Wild!

000

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 16/09/2025

OK, Freja is not happening. Playing some alternative builds of Soldier. AP Rockets is fun, very bursty, not sure it's better than the mini visor build.

010

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 16/09/2025

11 of the last 15 games have been 3-0 wins or loses. 3 games were 3-1 wins/loses, and only 1 games was a 3-2 win. This matchmaking fucking blows chunks...

100

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 16/09/2025

OK. OK! Now we're doing something!

000

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 15/09/2025

It makes sense if you're familiar with website layout and mobile displays, but to the average user, I bet 99% of them assume their banner looks the same everywhere. But also, how important is this for most folks just popping a pic up? Not much.

020

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 15/09/2025

Showing up differently on mobile and desktop feels really wild. Is this how a lot of platforms work?

110

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 15/09/2025

This post was about Freja, which will probably still be true, BUT I did just find out about an interaction between two of her abilities that might change things a bit. More play is required.

200

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 15/09/2025

Yeah, it’s not quite a one-to-one but it’s in the same vein. It feels like one mode of play is binary (you are good or you are not) and one is much more subjective and in a spectrum.

020

Matthew Gravelyn @mrmatthew.bsky.social · 15/09/2025

Enjoyment in the latter bucket may or may not be linked to doing well; I think even if I did well I wouldn't find a lot of fun or depth or replayability in those games. I wish there was a ttrpg correlation here for the followers, but this might just be a video game thing.
