Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 26/09/2026@greenmanfest.bsky.social Worst year ever for buying tickets, having attended for the last 15 years. I finally got tickets in the basket, then the checkout was so slow I lost my tickets. 010

Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 07/08/202619 years ago we moved to Hereford. As a result, @spillersrecords.bsky.social has become my "local" record shop, and @greenmanfest.bsky.social my local festival. I cannot adequately put into words just how much I love both of these institutions! 140

Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 16/07/2026On Eurostar. The weight of our luggage twice that compared to the outward journey. 130
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 16/07/2026#NowPlaying Not sure why I didn't buy the @hyperionrecords.bsky.social CDs at the time (probably because I have at least three recordings of each quartet) but at €70 from FNAC this week, it might be my best purchase of the year. 142
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 05/07/2026#NowPlaying Ordered from Bandcamp after enjoying his playing so much on the new Tyshawn Sorey album. 010
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 05/07/2026Our thoughts are with everyone who (like us) should have been travelling to Cardiff this afternoon to see #NeilYoung play his first ever gig in Wales. 000
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 02/07/2026On my way to Manchester. Did anyone out there catch John Hiatt in London last night? It's been over 20 years since I last saw him 😲 110
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 11/06/2026#NowPlaying A power pop classic. I know it's not, but I always think of this as his debut album. The first in a run of half a dozen great albums. 010

Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 12/05/2026On the train home from Swansea. Neath. Remembering Peter Hain, who should have been a Labour Prime Minister. 000
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 06/05/2026#WalkHerefordshire On today's walk I have passed a decorator named John Taylor, and Philip Minton, a carpenter! 240
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 22/04/2026#NowPlaying Disc 1, Jacob van Eyck. I have a feeling this set could become a firm favourite. 000
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 22/04/2026The post has arrived. The Garro should nicely complement the latest #Cupertinos release. Delphian are a really interesting label but, at £21 for single CDs, I thought for a long time before ordering this! 220
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 22/04/2026#NowPlaying I have been listening to the My New Band Believe album for a couple of days, and now feel an urge to listen to #VanDykeParks PS: Who remembers Rykodisc? Put out some excellent re-issues in the 90s. 120

Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 19/04/2026@deeplyclassical.bsky.social Virgin Classics really did put out some great Britten recordings in the late 80s/early 90s. 010
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 18/04/2026The (whisper it 🤫) three #NathanSalsburg albums were also collected, but will have to wait! I have wanted these for 18 months or so!! 010

Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 14/04/2026#NowPlaying #MikeWestbrook Sadly, I never got to see this piece live. 000
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 14/04/2026#NowPlaying #MikeWestbrook Arguably still the finest British big band album of all time. 010
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 13/04/2026#MikeWestbrook My first Westbrook album, purchased in an odd little shop in the Tricorn Centre in Portsmouth, when I was living in Chichester, in 1990, I think. I have no idea why I bought it, other than I recall it was a bargain. However, it started a lifelong love. 210
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 13/04/2026#NowPlaying How lucky we are to have this solo recording by Mike, along with Paris, recorded when he was 81 and 80 years of age respectively. 000
Simon Scott @mrmarches.bsky.social · 13/04/2026Ok. Most un-ECM ECM cover. I start the bidding with this one. 000
