If you can spare anything to help Alex out, please consider doing so. One of the nicest, most generous people you could ever hope to meet.

For a number of years now, I've been listening to audiobooks to lull me to sleep at night. In retrospect, The Exorcist might not have been the best pick. There's nothing quite like being on the verge of nodding off when a voice suddenly roars "LET JESUS FUCK YOU!" in your ear.

The Google search history of a crime fiction author tends to be a dark and disturbing place. It was something of a novelty, therefore, that yesterday evening I found myself researching hand-rearing baby barn owls.

The corporate media is the Union's most powerful weapon against Scottish independence. Read the news you're not getting, and share the poster so others can easily do the same. Download home-printable poster PDF from - indyposterboy.scot/the-real-news/

I'm not going to get into the rights and wrongs of this particular presidential pardon. I just continue to find it wild that, in a modern democracy, the emperor can decide to absolve his subjects of crimes for which they've been convicted. It seems positively feudal.

Joe Biden pardoning his son Hunter is a tremendous gift to the Trump administration
Granting his son an unconditional presidential pardon for the last decade has done incalculable damage to Biden’s legacy, to the office of the presidency – and the country itself, writes Sean O’Grady

Yesterday I got tagged about generating a "I've moved to Bluesky" banner for Twitter. Well I've built it 😂 Just enter your handle, and we'll generate the banner for you: blueskydirectory.com/moved-to-blu... Thanks to @justinjackson.ca for original idea and @chadtimbl.in for the banner I used!

I produced this 2-disc UHD limited edition of Tobe Hooper's balls-out crazy The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, featuring a mixture of new and archival extras. Ilan Sheady did the cover art and the whole package, with some very cool extra goodies, was designed by Dare Creative.

Time to revisit this. I was a little iffy about it when I saw it at the cinema, but at least I enjoyed it more than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (I low bar to clear, I know).

Time for a rewatch of this masterpiece. Call me a philistine, but I've grown to like this more than the original.

Those accusing the ICC of being “political” do not fully understand the law. Post WWII, we in “the West” stipulated a set of shared rules that we believed applied to everyone - enemies, allies and ourselves. If an ally breaches those rules, the rules have not suddenly become “political” overnight.

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

"X rewards assholery, shithousery, amateurish trolling and outrage baiting. That’s what brings in the bucks. X isn’t a shithole just because of who’s on there, or because Elon laid off lots of moderators. It’s full of ragebait because that’s what is rewarded." www.techtris.co.uk/p/musks-sadi...

It's not really about "better moderation", it's not even monetisation – there's a reason X is so different to anything else.

Came for Aubrey Plaza, stayed for Maisy Stella. Thoroughly wholesome coming-of-age tale of an 18 YO who has a shroom-induced encounter with her 39 YO future self. Directed by Megan Park, who previously made the similarly impressive The Fallout, which you should definitely see if you haven't already.
