Operators provided shit service in an effort to cut costs to increase profits. Public, rightly, complained. Government did the only thing it really could and started the process of bringing the trains back into public ownership. But wait! The government no longer owns its own trains!

Let's see.... Privatization caused the operators to choose not to purchase their own trains because they could lose their franchises at the next bidding. Much like the government discovered before privatizing, it's nearly impossible to make money operating passenger trains.

We are not entirely without water. We own a little house on the edge of the property that is not fed from the same place. Traditionally, we hook up a hose to that and run it out to a place where all 118 units then come with buckets and pots and pans and aquariums and dog bowls and such.

5:30 am trip to the loo resulted in a 2 hour journey of calling people and waking neighbours as a water main had busted down stream from me. Of course no one here knows where any shut offs might be.....except the one that shuts it off for all 118 units.
