I hate seeing Muslim and Jewish public servants performing demonstrations of ideological purity for WASPs. We all need to be vocal about the wholly insufficient nature of the United States Constitution, not hold it up as a document offering liberation. Did anyone see the latest FD Signifier video?

black sensibilities in America was a simple process. We had allowed Obama to lead us into the American dream with the foolish assumption that one; that dream was ever meant to be ours in the first place and that we would be allowed to possess that in perpetuity without consequences and two; that America's history of imperialism and genocide abroad and domestic is something that we should want to be a part of in the first place.

We were still and are still too caught up in the fact that it was a black man with the levers of power in his hand. And we deluded ourselves into believing that Obama's effective maintenance of American empire was somehow beneficial to black people.

I got feedback from some retired professor friends who thought my use of "global majority" was confusing. I'm sharing my footnote here hoping to spread awareness that we can write and demand an end to the epistemological violence of settler colonial narratives that insist on being cultural defaults.
2 Throughout this paper the term "global majority" is used to refer to all humans who do not identify as white. The term "global minority" is often used to describe humans who identify as white. These terms allow this history to be framed around its Black protagonists rather than being forced to define Silver Spring's Black citizens in relation to whiteness (for example by using the term "minority"), emphasizing instead their common cause with the international struggle against colonization. For more on the term's origin see the essay by Leeds Beckett University's Rosemary Campbell-Stephens MBE titled, "Global Majority; Decolonising the Language and Reframing the Conversation About Race" here: https://www.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/-/media/files/schools/school-of- education/final-leeds-beckett-1102-global-majority.pdf. For a discussion of the reasons for centering solutions to the many forms of violence inflicted upon marginalized global majority populations in academic work and the danger of ignoring the epistemological violence that comes from constructing non-white identities as non-normative, see Geetha Reddy and Amena Amer's "Precarious Engagements and the Politics of Knowledge Production: Listening to
Calls for Reorienting Hegemonic Social Psychology," The British Journal of Social Psychology 62, (2023): 71-94.

The USS Lincoln had this "Score Board" posted onboard the ship that bragged about dropping 1.5 million tons of ordinance on Iranians unprovoked.
Picture of a mural aboard the USS Lincoln titled, "Score Board" that provides data on the combat operations carried out during Operation Epic Fury, the United States and Israel's name for their unprovoked war of aggression against the sovereign nation of Iran that killed thousands of Iranians, including an entire school filled with female students that the Americans targeted in the war's opening salvos, as if making a blood sacrifice of innocents.

I hadn't seen this mural, it lists all the kills of the USS Lincoln. They were certainly out there participating. Same carrier that hosted the "Mission Accomplished" debacle btw.
Screengrab from an Electronic Intifada video showing a mural painted by the crew of the USS Lincoln, the aircraft carrier that recently broke the record for longest deployment.

The mural at the top says, "Operation Epic Fury" and below there are pictures of both the number of enemy weapons they defended against as well as the number of bombs they dropped on the Iranian people unprovoked.

The far left shows the number of cruise missiles intercepted, then the number of ships they sunk, then the number of shahed drones they downed, then the number of autonomous subs they sunk, and finally there's a bomb (same type dropped on Gaza) with the number 1463 on it (that's the number of bombs they dropped).

There are a bunch of sailors posing on the deck, proud of their ability to deal death to the democratic principles that keep peace on the only habitable planet humans have yet discovered.

Not being pedantic, I just can't overlook an opportunity to shit on the Americans who funded the Nazis and played an influential role. I wrote a little about this here:
Many separate events contributed to the outbreak of World War II, but at the heart of the conflict were unresolved disagreements among signatories of the Treaty of Versailles. Germany's economy had been crippled by the terms of the treaty, which saw them repaying over $30 billion to France and Great Britain. In addition, the Germans' military capabilities were restricted; the treaty prevented any expansion beyond 100,000 troops (Kordas, 479). To pay what they owed, the German government was forced to adopt unpopular measures leading to an ascendant authoritarian movement leveraging public disapproval to take power. As the fascists began building up their military capacity in violation of the terms of the treaty, Great Britain and France were unwilling to confront the increasing threat Germany posed to Europe's peace. Prominent bankers in the United States were helping refinance Germany's debt, allowing Hitler's economy to grow based on deficit spending (Kordas, 498). Those American backers allowed Hitler to borrow the money he needed to pay France and Britain, who then used that money to pay back their own war debts to America (Kordas, 482). If the Americans hadn't been propping up Hitler's ability to engage in deficit spending, enabling him to simultaneously build his war machine and appease his creditors, one wonders if he would've been allowed to become such a threat to Europe?

Dr. Teitelbaum, himself a Fulbright Scholar, retired anthropologist and community activist well-known to Montgomery County politicians with whom he frequently communicates, told the author he knew Blair Ewing personally and that Ewing worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). While on the school board, Ewing was known as the liberal opposition to Marian Greenblatt. OK I'm sorry but I'm just really feelin' myself right now, I don't think I could've discovered a more perfect title, I'm so psyched! "I Have Had Your History Crammed Down My Throat": The Civil Rights Work of Roscoe R. Nix From 1968-1989
Title of Proposed Presentation: "I Have Had Your History Crammed Down My Throat": The Civil Rights Work of Roscoe R. Nix From 1968-1989

Keywords: integration, desegregation...

Using a cultural history approach and sources previously unexamined, this paper focuses on the career of Montgomery County Maryland Civil Rights leader Roscoe R. Nix. Beginning with Nix's appointment by Maryland's Gov. Agnew to the state's Commission on Human Relations after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1968, continuing through his tenure on the Mongomery County School Board from 1974-1978 and then chronicling his activism throughout the 1980s as President of the Montgomery County NAACP, this paper examines the public service career of a Black community leader during an era in which racial animosity re-emerged as a primary driver of public policy.

As a highly populated county composed of both wealthy, insular incorporated enclaves with their own police force such as Chevy Chase, as well as unincorporated census-designated places where residents share police, school and government services with over a hundred thousand others like Silver Spring, Montgomery County's most prominent historical narratives have favored global minority perspectives at the expense of narratives more representative of its global majority population. By utilizing a Cultural History approach to examine the perspective of Roscoe Nix as he fought for change from both within Maryland government and outside of it, this paper clearly outlines the reasons Mr. Nix fought for racial equity within Montgomery County schools and the resulting racial backlash from that county's wealthiest communities. I present the new historical argument that by successfully confronting widespread racial discrimination through a sustained multi-decade campaign of engagement from both within local government and from outside of it, Roscoe Nix was integral to Silver Spring's transformation into America's fourth most diverse city.

In researching Roscoe R. Nix, I learned he wrote his first letter to the editor in defense of fellow Alpha Phi Alpha member Paul Robeson in '48, presented awards in his name in '78, and was recorded discussing his legacy as late as 2005 at the age of 84. Susan Robeson "The Whole World in his Hands":

ROBESON TELLS TRUMAN: DO SOMETHING ABOUT LYNCHINGS OR NEGROES WILL
Washington -Paul Robeson, Negro baritone, spearhead of the American Crusade to End Lynching, said yesterday after a White House visit that he had told the President that if the Government did not do something to curb lynching, "Negroes would."

To this statement, Robeson said, the President took sharp exception. The President, he said, remarked that it sounded like a threat. Robeson told newspapermen he assured the President it was not a threat but merely a statement of fact about the temper of the Negro people.

Robeson asked the President to make a formal declaration of
disapproval of lynching within the next 100 days. Robeson explained the next 100 days would be an appropriate time for the President to act, because it was on September 22, 1862, that Lincoln issued the proclamation freeing the slaves and it was on January Ist that it became effective,

The President, Robeson said, told the delegation that Government action against lynching was necessarily a political matter, and that timing was important. The President... said that this was not the time for him to act.

The singer said he also pointed out what he considered misdirections in American foreign policy. He said it was hard to see the distinction between current lynchings and the Nuremburg war crimes trials.
He explained that he meant by this that the United States could not logically take the lead in punishing the Nazis for the oppression of groups in Germany while the Government here permitted Negroes to be lynched and shot. To this, he said, the President objected that loyal Americans should not mix domestic problems like lynching with foreign policy. Robeson said... he did not see how the two could be separated.

Looking for inspiration for the title of a paper I’m finishing about Montgomery County, Maryland Civil Rights giant Roscoe R. Nix in “The Messenger Reader” and came across this gem from the legendary A. Philip Randolph from a longer article titled, “The Negro in Politics” published in July of 1919:
THE RISE OF POLITICAL RADICALISM AMONG NEGROES
The political Radicalism of the Negro has been marked by three definite movements: First, the entrance of the Negro into the Democratic Party; second, the transition to the elective idea of representation; third, and the most fundamental and significant of all is, the change from the old parties to Socialism.

The last of these changes has been the result of the rise of a new type of leaders. The old Negro leaders have had the intent to serve the interests of the Negroes, but they have lacked the knowledge as to how they could best serve them. And it is recognized today that the possession of an intent to do good without the knowledge, is more fatal than the possession of knowledge without the intent. To illustrate: History attests that during the early Christian era, Marcus Aurelius was the most savage persecutor of the Christians, yet he was one of the most upright of men and it is maintained that he persecuted them on the ground that he was saving them from the consequences of their folly. His intent was to do good. Even Protestant historians accord to those Who maintained the Spanish Inquisition, honest intentions, while they murdered, massacred and outraged the heretics of their day. The suppression of free speech, the freedom of the press and the lynching of Negroes and I.W.W. are based upon the intent to subserve the country's interests. The system which produces these conditions, determines the social consequences of the policies, adopted by both good and bad men. Thus, it is apparent that an individual's power to do social and personal mischief is, in proportion to the intensity of his belief in the rightness of his act and the absence of knowledge as to its346 • The Messenger Reader

social consequences. An ignorant man may take Bicloride of mercury for quinine; the result is death, though his intent and desire was to live.

THE FUTURE OF THE NEGRO IN AMERICAN POLITICS

Thus it is obvious that the hope of the Negro lies, first in the development of Negro leaders with the knowledge of the science of government and economics, scientific history and sociology; and second, in the relegation to the political scrap heap, those Negro leaders whose only qualifications are the desire to lead and the intent to do good.

The old Negro leaders have been factors in producing and perpetuating a patent contradiction in American politics: the alliance of a race of poverty, the Negro, with a party of wealth, the Republican Party.

The Republican Party has been the instrumentality in American politics of abolishing agricultural feudalism of the South for the establishment of industrial capitalism of the North. Industrial slavery has been substituted for human slavery.

But how is the Negro to know which party to support? Before answering this question may I observe that a party is a body of individuals who agree upon a political program and who strive to gain control of the government in order to secure its adoption. Its campaigns are made possible by a fund created by those persons who desire the adoption of its program. It is natural and plain, then that those who supply the funds will control and direct the party.

Now, it is a fact of common knowledge that the Republican and Democratic parties receive their campaign funds from Rockefeller, Mor-gan, Schwab, Shonts, Ryan, Armour and other capitalists. It is also a fact of common knowledge, that the chief interests of these capitalists are: to make large profits by employing cheap labor and selling their goods at high prices to the public.

Thus, since the chief interests of the workers are more wages, less work, cheaper food, clothing and shelter, it is apparent that their chief inte…Essays • 347

I maintain that since the Socialist Party is supported financially by working men and working women, and since its platform is a demand for the abolition of this class struggle between the employer and the worker, by taking over and democratically managing the sources and machinery of wealth production and exchange, to be operated for social service and not for private profits; and further, since the Socialist Party has always, both in the United States and Europe, opposed all forms of race prejudice, that the Negro should no longer look upon voting the Republican ticket, as accepting the lesser of two evils, but that it is politically, economically, historically and socially logical and sound for him to reject both evils, the Republican and Democratic parties and select a positive good—Socialism.

The Negro, like any other class, should support that party which represents his chief interests. Who could imagine a brewer or saloonkeeper supporting the Prohibition party?

It is like an undertaker seeking the adoption of a law, if possible, to abolish death.

Such is not less ludicrous, however, than that of a Negro, living in virtual poverty, children without education, wife driven to the kitchen or wash-tub: continually dispossessed on account of high rents, eating poor food on account of high cost of food, working 10, 12 and 14 hours a day, and sometimes compelled to become sycophant and clownish for a favor, a "tip," supporting the party of Rockefeller, the party of his em-ployer, whose chief interests are to overwork and underpay him. Let us abolish these contradictions and support our logical party—the Socialist Party.

Most sources covering this topic refuse to admit whites were racist: "In the 70s, there were parents, residents, and community leaders who felt the County's emphasis on meeting the educational needs of minority students was diminishing the quality of the education received by non-minority students."
Public School Leadership
A Contentious Board of Education

In the 70s, there were parents, residents, and community leaders who felt the County's emphasis on meeting the educational needs of minority students was diminishing the quality of the education received by non-minority students. Their views were reflected in the 1976 Board of Education election. The Conservative candidates campaigned for seats with promises to "get back to the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic" and to stop "forced busing" and "social engineering". Their message resonated with voters and enough conservative candidates were elected in 1976 to achieve a conservative majority on the Board.

The new Board acted quickly. It fired progressive School Superintendent Charles Bernardo, eliminated "The Black Experience in Culture" course that was mandatory for teachers and staff, disbanded the Board of Education's minority relations committee, stopped uses of busing to achieve racial balance in high minority schools, and ended some special education programs in high minority schools.

Mrs. Marian L. Greenblatt emerged as the leader of the conservative majority Board and led the Board to expand assigned homework, emphasize improving English and math test scores, and reduce the number of unexcused absences allowed before a student was suspended. She also engaged the Board in reconsidering existing school integration strategies. One outcome was the School Board's decision to approve a school reorganization plan that would close Rosemary Hills Elementary School and several other high minority, down-county schools; end elementary school pairings; and redraw school attendance boundaries.

I haven't read the latest Nikole Hannah-Jones essay yet, but I've seen the usual suspects jumping to criticize her. Haven't had a chance to peep it yet because I've been working on my own project about Maryland Civil Rights pioneer Roscoe R. Nix. This architect of school integration had his doubts:
predominantly black schools were learning up to expectancy, their schools should be left alone. He strongly advocated quality education. Nix commented on the advantages and disadvantages of segregation and integration. Bernstein recorded his remarks at length:

He noted that most of the black leaders in the United States have been educated in black institutions. He spoke of growing up in rural Alabama, attending segregated schools, and suggested that his background had given him a strong sense of his own blackness. His children, though, had gone to predominantly white schools in Montgomery County, and the stresses of that experience had caused his daughter to choose a black college. She was in search of her own identity, and a less complicated social life. She needed time, Roscoe said, to feel safe and nurtured in a black environment.

"Yet with all the penalties that integration has levied on black children in the last twenty years," he continued, I still believe in desegregation, although I fear it too." As he spoke, there were painfully long pauses between sentences and beads of perspiration popped out on his upper lip. He conceded that there were two sides to the issue, and paid tribute to the agonies of blacks in a white society, but he concluded, nevertheless, that the agony should not be avoided.

The Washington Post Sept. 8, 1972 A23 Letter to the Editor by Roscoe Nix that referenced this play in response to a Black police officer killing a 16 year old in DC:
"A Better Way Out"
The killing of 16-year-old Gregory Coleman by a black pollceman and the justifled outrage and protest by the black community reminds me of a scene from Melvin Van Peeples' brilliant Broadway lyrical play, "Ain't Suppose To Die A Natural Death. The scene has a black youth running from the pollce and as they close in on him he continues to cry out in desperation, "Come on feet, do your thing." The police shoot and kill him. The blacks, from their poor ghetto dwellings, come out and mourn him in sorrow and outrage. The black community rises up and shoots at the pollce. The white policeman who, along with the black policeman, has been a constant harasser and oppressor escapes unharmed. The black policeman Is killed.

To the black theater-goer Van Peeple's
message is clear: All blacks are victims of a system that so manipulates them that, regardless of the white man's role in the exploitation, blacks end up destroying one another. I suppose this was on Jullus Hobson's mind as he wept at the memorial service for young Coleman.

Hobson also knows that… Mr. Washington is not accountable to the people of the District, but to the White House. Therefore, the black majority of the District is not his constituency. He will remain in office as long as his performance satisfies 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

It would not surprise me if the black
policeman is indicted as a sacrificial lamb to protect the structure.

Is there no exit for blacks from this predicament? Are we condemned to continue to know that "We Ain't Suppose To Die A Natural Death"? Unless the manipulation of the structure is changed, the words of the old rag lady in the climactic grand finale of Van Peeples play may be prophetic for non-blacks.

She chants:

Put a curse on you
May the block gobble up your futures too…
May the man feast on vour goose too Police chop on your children's head too
and cackle at their moans too

Let us all hope that there is a better way out.
ROSCOE N. NIX, Silver Spring.

Posted a lot of George Jackson during Black August; for Hispanic Heritage Month let’s break out the late Johanna Fernandez’s “The Young Lords,” a radical history of the revolutionary Puerto Rican urban guerrilla force active in late 60s/early 70s New York City:
CHAPTER SEVEN
THE POLITICS AND CULTURE OF THE YOUNG LORDS PARTY
The Young Lords' headline-grabbing campaigns, staged so theatrically at the church, elevated the organization's profile to new heights. Yet along with their newfound star power, the Young Lords were now confronted with the challenge of hundreds of young people descending on their East Harlem office clamoring to join the popular revolutionaries with the purple berets. In the aftermath of the Church Offensive, journalist Jose Yglesias reported that the "rush thereafter by young Puerto Ricans to join the Lords-who will also accept non-Puerto Rican blacks from the Barrio—was so great that the organization has had to close its rolls temporarily."' By May 1970, the group had absorbed approximately 600 new members and thousands of Friends of the Lords and Lords in training.
It was less than a year since the Young Lords had set out to build a vanguard revolutionary party of people of color. Organized in a paramilitary-styled struc-ture, the party's charge was to agitate for reforms in the here and now, raise revolutionary consciousness, and discipline the organization for the advent of larger social struggles. They were guided by older political theories and also by the writings that emerged out of what came to be known as Third World revolutions for independence in Algeria, Vietnam, Cuba, Congo, and beyond.
These movements and others in the former colonial world were influenced in various degrees by Marxist ideas. At the same time, such movements had to define themselves in relation to less radical "bourgeois" nationalist currents. The theme that all addressed was opposition to European imperialism and the racist ideology that justified it.
The Young Lords identified political education as a central task. Beginning in February 1970, the organization's Central Committee implemented a systematic training program for its rank and file on the history of the Puerto Rican independence movement and its lessons as wel

by a mud-slinging opportunist-warlord, demonstrably inferior, scum-swilling pig. Then pass out a pamphlet to explain to the people how the system has failed them, or speak it in Pershing Square-or, years ago, in the Campus Hall. Today it is not a tactic-it's counterrevolution. After forty years it's pretty clear that it will not suffice. Years ago, "working with" and attempting to influence union leadership may have been judicious, but the government has long since infiltrated and bought off this leadership and legislated away the strike. Union-hall speeches and pamphlet passing are playing at revolution.

It isn't revolutionary or materialist to disconnect things. To disconnect revolutionary consciousness from revolutionizing activity, to build consciousness with political agitation and educational issue-making alone is idealistic rather than materialist. The effect has been reformism rather than revolution. When any election is held it will fortify rather than destroy the credibility of the power brokers. When we participate in this election to win, instead of disrupt, we're lending to its credibility, and destroying our own. With all the factors of control over the electoral process in the hands of the minority ruling class, the people's party can always be made to seem isolated, unimportant, even extraneous. If these tactics still give the appearance of revolution to some after decades of miscarriage, we are justified in replacing them as vanguard.

When people begin to express their disgust at the demagogic and reformist maneuvers of the vanguard parties, they

Montgomery School Board, Blacks in Bitter Dispute
By Neil Henry
Washington Post Staff Writer
The time was the early 1970s... At Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville during the spring of 1971, police were called in two or three times a month to quell racial violence after school's the election of first black the homecoming queen...
Spurred by a desire to understand... the county school board formed a committee to study race relations... this group's principal objective — creation of a mandatory black study course for 12,000 school system employes — became reality.
But... a new school board has shown every intention of making the course optional... such an action amounts to the betrayal of a commitment with "blood, sweat and tears,"... there is considerable question whether a hearing will help bridge the growing distance between the board and irate black county leaders.
"This course represents only the tip of an iceberg...," said George Sealey, head of the county chapter of the NAACP... "We deeply resent the fact that... (the board's new four-member conservative majority), are planning to totally reverse the modest gains we've made without... listening to us."
Where five years ago there was dialogue and conciliation..., today there is bitterness and confrontation. The NAACP and other black organizations are hurling charges of racism and bigotry against the board,... protesting that it is deaf to black concerns.
Board President Marian Greenblatt... said she is "shocked" by the controversy but steadfast in her determination to make the course voluntary.
"We aren't insensitive to the problems of blacks or any other minority.
We just feel that the problems can be attacked in better ways ... We are

not in the business of solving society's ills."
...county blacks fear that the move to make the course optional is the first of many setbacks they may expect... there is growing fear that the board also will set out to cut the number of black administrators in the system, which increased by 21 percent... under Superintendent Charles M. Bernardo.
...Greenblatt said some overall budget cuts may be necessary to increase the amount of classroom materials and to hire additional reading teachers. But she insists the areas the black parents are concerned about won't be singled out. "We're only trying to focus attention on the classroom, where it belongs."
...But it has come up against a surprisingly strong philosophical tide with its roots a decade earlier that demands that attention be paid to the "special needs" of black children... the county's population is now nearly 10 percent black, more than double what it was in 1970
Groups such as the NAACP... say black students can be better taught, counseled and disciplined if teachers and staff understand more about black culture and heritage.
Several isolated examples of the current friction between blacks the board best show depth of feelings involved in the controversy.

...during one recent board meeting... NAACP member Hanley J. Norment stood up and demanded public disclosure from the board on how much it was spending on legal fees to argue the contract renewal of Bernardo, whom the new board members are trying to remove, but whom many blacks support.
"We will not be silenced." Norment said. "You may think of us as niggers, Mrs. Greenblatt, but I want you to know that we are new niggers, niggers with spirit and determination."

In her board office Greenblatt said she is "terribly hurt" by the charges of racism and bigotry. "What can I do, though? Say I'm not? I think the black community is terribly mistaken," she said...

This is brilliant thanks. It reminded of what George Jackson wrote in “Blood In My Eye” about Allende: “Until the Chilean ruling capitalist class is suppressed, the Chilean revolution is as meaningless as the Swedish experiment.“
Picture of page 78 of George Jackson’s “Blood In My Eye”:

GEORGE JACKSON

historical experience with that of a tiny colonial country like Chile: Allende is not seizing property; his government is
"buying property." Until the Chilean ruling capitalist class is suppressed, the Chilean revolution is as meaningless as the Swedish experiment. Socialist governments which attempt to coexist with capitalist economics completely forget the economic motive of human social history. Revisionism has given birth to countless "socialistic" hermaphrodites, always to the detriment of people's power. Strained, tortured definitions of social existence and organization have trapped the people in so many contradictions that most have given up all hope of harnessing the modern industrial state or even understanding it. England before the Tories or between the Tories is
"liberal socialist." Military dictatorships, clearly total-itarian, are ruled by cliques traveling under the designation
"revolutionary council," etc.
I
No argument has any substance if it conflicts with the objective conditions, the clear, incontrovertible facts. In our case, these facts can be read from the nation's dailies-in the obituary section. Blacks who seriously advocate revolution are killed. Blacks who attack property relations are slated for the graveyard or the prison camp. It's a national cultural tradition. Since these are the facts, it follows that
An oppressed class which does not strive to learn to use arms, to acquire arms, only deserves to be treated like slaves. We cannot forget, unless we become bourgeois pacifists or opportunists, that we are living in a class society, that there is no way out of this society, and there

(U) Captioned Confidential Human Source (CHS) was asked by the handling agent about information he/she may be aware of related to improper domestic or foreign influence over the electoral process in the U.S. CHS already provided some of this information documented in previous reports, but he/she expanded on several matters, as described below:
(U) REDACTED Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz (Dershowitz). CHS learned that Dershowitz influenced many students from wealthy families. For example, Josh Kushner (Josh) and Jared Kushner (Jared) were both his students. Dershowitz told CHS that if he were young again, he would be holding a stun gun as an Israeli Intelligence (Mossad) agent. CHS believed Dershowitz was co-opted by Mossad and subscribed to their mission. CHS still continues to communicate occasionally for Dershowitz [See previous reporting].

(U)Jeffrey Epstein (Epstein) was represented by Dershowitz. CHS remembered Dershowitz tell Alex Ocasta (U.S. Attorney of Southern District of Florida at the time) that Epstein belonged to both U.S. and allied intelligence services. CHS shared phone calls between Dershowitz and Epstein during which he/she took notes. After these calls, Mossad would then call Dershowitz to debrief. Epstein was close to the former Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Barak (Barak) and trained as a spy under him. Barak believed Netanyahu was a criminal. Saudi Arabia, Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are allied against Qatar, Turkey, Iran and
Syria. One of CHS's REDACTED (who presumably worked REDACTED) asked CHS a lot of questions about Epstein. CHS became convinced that Epstein was a co-opted Mossad Agent (see previous reporting).

Happy Black August! “Prestige bars any serious attack on power. Do people attack a thing they consider with awe, with a sense of its legitimacy?” George Jackson, “Blood In My Eye”
Photograph of George Jackson’s “Blood In My Eye” standing up opened on a table to page 50. You can see trees in the background.

GEORGE JACKSON
The prestige of power as the subjective effect of a past deed or reputation, real or fancied, then has a very definite life process. The prestige of the capitalist class inside the U.S. reached its maturity with the close of the 1860-64 civil war.
Since that time there have been no serious threats to their power; their excesses have taken on a certain legitimacy through long usage.

Prestige bars any serious attack on power. Do people attack a thing they consider with awe, with a sense of its legitimacy?

In the process of things, the prestige of power emerges roughly in that period when power does not have to exercise its underlying basis—violence. Having proved and established itself, it drifts, secure from any serious challenge. Its automatic defense-attack instincts remain alert; small threats are either ignored away, laughed away, or in the cases that may build into something dangerous, slapped away. To the masters of capital, the most dreadful omen of all is revolutionary scientific socialism. The gravedigger evokes fear re-sponse. Prestige wanes if the first attacks on its power base find it wanting. Prestige dies when it cannot prevent further attacks upon itself.

All intellectual arguments against the necessity of counter-violence, even in the opening stages of a People's War against an industrial establishment such as the one in the U.S.A., are false. We can stop the debate; prestige must be destroyed. People must see the venerated institutions and the "omnipotent administrator" actually under physical at-tack. They must be assured that the heavens will not hurl

financial structure and interests, but of its broader functional relationship to what lay beyond its walls, in the realm of untamed community resistance they call the undercommons. "The Universitas is always a state/State strategy," they insist, a key mechanism of soft power that seeks to infiltrate and tap into the power of that community (Harney & Moten, 2013, p. 32). For Harney and Moten, the university inculcates discipline and individualism through a logic of professionalization that turns even apparently "critical academics" into central nodes for administrative power. The primary mode of the critical academic is to simply ask questions and nothing more-hence the comical sign held by one faculty member outside Columbia that simply read, "defend questioning." Those of us who know this system from the inside know all too well that it is often the "critical" intellectuals who advise us to keep our heads down, to not rock the boat, to be civil and professional. This politics of civility is a trap into which too many faculty have fallen today, and the recuperation of critical academics provides crucial cover that legitimizes the colonial function of the university.

From Maher’s below-linked essay about the true role of the university in upholding hegemony:
even i we view the university as a material terrain to be fought for, we must never forget that there's a far bigger world to be won beyond the ivory tower.

THE MATERIALITY (AND COLONIALITY)
OF THE UNIVERSITY

Knowledge has always been an essential terrain of power. The Italian Marxist philosopher and political activist Antonio Gramsci (1971) is often credited with reintroducing the importance of knowledge and ideas into Marxism through his concept of hegemonic power, however, this was never simply about ideas. For Gramsci as for Marx, ideas become material when people believe and act on them, and hegemony is the material project of building institutions of knowledge production that uphold the status quo. Resistance accordingly emerges on the same terrain, through the building of counter-hegemonic alternative institutions. Later European thinkers from Pierre Bourdieu (1977) to Michel Foucault (1980) can be seen as expanding upon Gramsci's insight by shedding crucial light not only on the importance of knowledge, but on the institutions that serve to generate, popularize, and inculcate those ideas as a prevailing

oh shit lol I didn't realize this was you! fuckin' awesome. I've got the pdf of Ludo Martens "Another View of Stalin" pulled up now!
Our analyses and reflections on this subject are published in this work, Another view of Stalin. The view of Stalin that is imposed on us daily is that of the class that wants to maintain the existing system of exploitation and oppression. Adopting another view of Stalin means looking at the historic Stalin through the eyes of the oppressed class, through the eyes of the exploited and oppressed.

This book is not designed to be a biography of Stalin. It is intended to directly confront the standard attacks made against Stalin: 'Lenin's Will', forced collectivization, overbearing bureaucracy, extermination of the Old Bolshevik guard, the Great Purge, forced industrialization, collusion between Stalin and Hitler, his incompetency during World War II, etc. We have endeavored to deconstruct many 'well-known truths' about Stalin, those that are summarized -- over and over —- in a few lines in newspapers, history books and interviews, and which have more or less become part of our unconscious.

'But how is it possible', asked a friend, 'to defend a man like Stalin?'

There was astonishment and indignation in this question, which reminded me of what an old Communist worker once told me. He spoke to me of the year 1956, when Khrushchev read his famous Secret Report. Powerful debates took place within the Communist Party. During one of these confrontations, an elderly Communist woman, from a Jewish Communist family, who lost two children during the war and whose family in Poland was exterminated, cried out:

Jonathan Jackson was a real one (from George Jackson’s “Blood In My Eye”):
From a letter mailed by Jonathan shortly before his death:

Why do we go for this old shit, most of the fascist functionaries live as unguarded as I do. I could slip a knife between Max Rafferty's ribs. The Agnews and Du Ponts, the Rockefellers and Morgans, all of the Getty, Hunt, and Hughes types who sneak around in armored cars and jets are just as reachable. Anyone who will come out of his bomb shelter can be had. Imagine what Nixon's armored car would look like if I stepped out of the alley and hit it with the anti-tank rocket launcher under my coat—a ball of fire. Hell will be their reward.
