Really excited about @mredthompson.bsky.social 's upcoming book The Photographer's Grimoire. His YT videos are no-nonsense, insightful and genuinely useful, and I'm expecting the book will be much the same. You can sign up here to be warned of the book launch! www.kickstarter.com/projects/gad...

So far 149 people have signed up to the Kickstarter pre-launch with no press at all. I had a YouTube video get 12,000 views and that brought in a bunch, but that was free to make and post. www.kickstarter.com/projects/gad...

I'm having trouble getting traction on my coming Photographers Grimoire book with past outlets who've covered my photo books. I guess magic is a step too far for them. Then again they do believe in conceptual photography, don't they? ;) instead I've tried Meta ads as a way of getting direct to folk

No it's how do I put it it's a pre-launch as in it's online. I am promoting it before it launches.... So yes nothing is real, there is nothing in real life. I don't go out anywhere. No one goes out anywhere. Everything's online. At least we can sometimes read books on our own in peace still.

13th October. I've never done a pre-launch before on Kickstarter but it's supposed to be the way to do it. It turns out the way I've done it since 2011 is how losers do it! 🤣 Where you limp over the finish line with minutes to spare! If people see a successful Kickstarter on day one it's the FOMO

I don't do it, as I can't be arsed. But these Photo YouTuber slimeballs will literally pay third parties to harvest outlier videos from small channels. That's me! I get the odd hit as I am creative, I do lots of different stuff. The swine only make videos they know will work by harvesting data! ha

I wonder how long till the 'Photo Youtubers' notice my punctum/synchronicity stuff and start trying to rip me off like they do with my other popular videos? Come on lads, cross the veil, try it, I double dare you. Go on you silhouette shooting street sickos ;) youtu.be/Q4JbZlsQavg

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

In a wage-theft settlement, DoorDash now has to pay its workers around 100 times what it spent trying to beat Zohran Mam

I thought about reaching out to some of the authors I've photographed over the years about The Photographer's Grimoire. Although I'm not sure that the author of Horrid Henry will dig it. Then again maybe she will? What about Anthony Browne? Do you think he's a fan of the Occult?

It just seems such a strange choice for menus. It just takes me back to Michael Douglas ordering a burger in Falling Down. At least back then it was a thoroughly manicured and professionally photographed fake hamburger. Where as now it's a completely divorced from reality AI hamburger.

There's no way I'll use this to promote the book or on IG. Just a musing. You can see why every local pub, nursery, garden centre, prison is full of this stuff. Zero point of entry and you get something passable.... so why does it all look the same and why does it have to be so bad for everything!
