One of the discussions that Bristol should have had years ago, is a discussion around people who live outside the city being in political power over the city. Not saying it should unlawful, but it should be fully disclosed.

One result of the LLM coding boom might make it harder for companies to release "new and improved" models.

I find it easy to believe that a hacker who has a close emotional attachment to a device, would be able to program it better than someone who was hired to do the same, and constrained by the boss to 'manage' the market. Also, one will have access to better hardcore drugs for those coding sessions.

The changes affect 9544 transactions totalling £540.6 million. There's a huge amount of 'noise' in the data, as a lot of companies are referred to by different name. I've made a webpage to try to identify groups of transactions. bristolian.org/weca/groups....

I had to go look up what CDJ is, and tbh I'm still somewhat vague as to their functionality. So, no, not aware of the shenanigans by Alpha Theta. btw, I did not say that the customer experience would necessarily be great. Custom software and hardware is quite 'spiky' to use.

A prediction about the future - the LLM coding boom is going to see a huge increase in the number of custom devices and pieces of software.

Here in Bristol, there has been a massive screw up of a Housing IT project by the Council (local government), due to the Council just not putting anyone to work on it, so it just didn't get done. That's cost tens of millions in extra costs, to avoid paying maybe half million in senior officer pay.

Ah, that explains most of the UK. But I live in Bristol, which has been labelled the 'Crucicble Of Wokeness', which I obviously registered immediately, but those usual explanations do not have a willing audience here. crucibleofwokeness.com

We all are born with a certain package, we are who we are, where we were born, who we were born as how we were raised, we're kind of stuck inside that person and the purpose of civilization and growth is to be able to reach out and empathize a little bit with other people, find out what makes them tick, what they feel about, what they care about and for me the movies are like a machine that generates empathy. If it's a great movie it lets you understand a little bit more about what it's like to be, a different gender, a different race, a different age, a different economic class, a different nationality, different profession, different hopes, aspirations, dreams and fears, it helps us to identify with the people who are sharing this journey with us and that to me is the most noble thing that good movies can do and it's a reason to encourage them and to support them and to go to them.
