When the Kennedy Dems switched to Reagan Republicans...Tom is right the Democrats started to focus more on cultural issues. But part of the blame goes with the rise of Falwell and " the moral majority". People were sucked into wedge issue politics.

Exactly....Democrats tend to fear things that never come to pass. Even pro Democratic internet groups tend to use fear in attempts to motivate but from past elections it seems to do the opposite and discourages voting. Positivity guides people better.

Posts like this discourage people who think voting is useless. They are part of the reason people just stay home. Journalists aren't supposed to drown hope. All the common person can do is vote, we have no control over how our politicians act or react.Hold the line.
