“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

The whole paradigm of “older generations are more conservative” is falling apart here in Canada. Now, because of tech bro culture, older folks are probably the most equipped to think critically about the present — and are the most anti-Trump. Via: canadianpolling.substack.com/p/canadians-...
A graph titled “Majority of Canadians Feel Angry Towards US President Donald Trump”.

Question is: “"How do you feel about Donald Trump?". Answer options are: Angry, Frustrated, Neutral, Comfortable, Excited (on a Liekert scale).

For all Canadians, Angry is 50%. Frustrated, an additional 17%. Neutral, 11%. Comfortable, 13%; excited: 9%.

By age:
- 65+, Angry is 70%, Frustrated is 12%. (Other values are too insignificant to be numbered on the graph.)
- 50-64, Angry is 51%, Frustrated is 19%, Neutral is 10%, Comfortable is 13%, Excited is 7%.
- 35-49, Angry is 46%, Frustrated is 15%, Neutral is 14%, Comfortable is 14%, Excited is 11%.
- 18-34, Angry is 40%, Frustrated is 20%, Neutral is 12%, Comfortable is 17%, Excited is 11%.

By party:
- Both NPD and LPC voters are Angry at 77%, and Frustrated at 11% and 10% respectively. Other values are too insignificant, but more LPC voters are “comfortable” and “excited” respectively than NDP voters.
- CPC voters are Angry at 28%, Frustrated at 20%, Neutral at 9%, Comfortable at 24%, and Excited at 19%.

MONTRÉAL • INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY PROTEST AGAINST NAZISM AND TRUMPISM 📆 Sat., March 8, 2025 🕐 1 PM (march at 2) 📍 Monument Georges-Étienne-Cartier, Tio’tiá:ke | Montréal Nazism, Trumpism, oligarchy, and patriarchy must be stopped at all costs. Fuck imperialism. Freedom and liberation for all!
A poster graphic, reading:

“International Women’s Day against Nazism & Trumpism - 2025-03-08 - 1pm - Rac/pists not welcome - Monument Sir-Georges-Étienne-Cartier”

In the middle of the graphic is a stylized drawing of a character swinging a bat at a silhouette of Donald Trump. A pink “X” appears where Trump’s eyes would be.

The text “Against Nazism & Trumpism” is in pink; the rest of the text is white on a dark background.

(The background is a black-and-white photo of a Trump figurine/piñata hanging from a window. Low-visibility text says: “We are never going back in the closet” and “We are never going back in the kitchen”).A poster graphic, reading as follows:

The clock is ticking.

The uncontested rise of the far-right
"broligarchy" and terminal-stage capitalism threatens all of our freedoms, from bodily autonomy to labour rights to freedom of expression.

Nazism, Trumpism, oligarchy and patriarchy kills people, and must be stopped at all costs.

Fuck the "51st state". Fuck imperialism. Freedom and liberation for all!

→ meetup @ 1pm
→ march @ 2pm

The protest will continue until 4:30p after which we'll be merging into Women from Diverse Origins' annual International Women's Day protest!
