Review #BookReview: The Liar in Room 5 by Kerry Kilpatrick 4 of 5 stars
The Liar in Room 5 by Kerry Kilpatrick My rating: 4 of 5 stars Andrew arrives at Halo House after yet another breakup, realising he’s spent years becoming whatever each boyfriend wanted. Then he meets Henry Mercer — a man who reads people for a living yet can’t make sense of Andrew at all. Henry sees that Andrew doesn’t know who he really is, and as they grow closer, he finds himself drawn only to the real Andrew he hopes will finally emerge…and choose him. This was a strange but compelling story, centred on Andrew finding himself at Halo House and immediately slipping back into his old habit of saying and doing whatever he thinks people want — not what he wants. His life up to this point felt like a bewildering form of high‑class emotional performance, and I was genuinely bemused by how little of himself he seemed to know. What made the story shine was Henry Mercer. He sees straight through Andrew’s practiced charm and gentle lies, pushing him, kindly but firmly, to start thinking for himself for the first time in years. Their connection felt special because Henry wasn’t interested in any version Andrew performed; he wanted the real man underneath. I loved that Andrew eventually found a way forward, discovering who he truly was and stepping into a full, fulfilling life with his beloved Daddy. A thoughtful, emotional read about identity, honesty, and finally choosing yourself. This was an MM story with mature content and a BDSM-like Daddy/boy dynamic. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Quit Playing Games with My Heart by Merry Farmer 3 of 5 stars
Quit Playing Games with My Heart by Merry Farmer My rating: 3 of 5 stars Brian falls hard for Sam — his best friend’s older brother and his boss — just as Common Grounds is struggling to survive construction and lost customers. His idea for a games night might save the café…and gives him a chance to get closer to Sam. Sam has lived by strict rules for years, but Brian’s pitch — and his feelings — make those rules harder to follow. Their attraction grows as they fight to save the café, unsure whether it’s the start of love or the end of Common Grounds. This was a sweet, emotional story set against the backdrop of Common Grounds struggling through the construction next door. I loved how Brian came up with the idea of games nights, and how working with Sam to make them happen finally gave the two of them space to stop pining and start truly seeing each other. But beneath the sweetness, there was tension too — something wasn’t quite right, and Sam needed to prove he trusted Brian, that nothing about Brian’s past or fears would change what was growing between them. That moment of trust added a lovely emotional depth to the story. A gentle, heartfelt read with just enough emotion to leave you warm. This was an MM story. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Dearest Malachi Keogh by N.R. Walker 4 of 5 stars
Dearest Malachi Keogh by N.R. Walker My rating: 4 of 5 stars Julian never believed in love at first sight — until Malachi Keogh. Four years later, Malachi has brought joy back into his life, and Julian is determined to give him an unforgettable Christmas. But with the mail centre at its busiest, he’ll need help from the whole team to make it happen. I loved this short story — it felt like a warm, joyful epilogue to the original book. Malachi Keogh was still his adorable, chaotic self, and Julian Pollard was brighter and more colourful than ever. Revisiting the Dead Letter Office was a delight, and I loved how the whole team came together to help Julian pull off a perfect surprise for Malachi. A sweet, festive story that leaves you smiling. Review #BookReview: Fire and Ice by Andrew Grey 4 of 5 stars
Fire and Ice by Andrew Grey My rating: 4 of 5 stars Carter, a caring police officer with a painful past, responds to a domestic call and finds young Alex in need of help. Child Services sends Donald “Ice” Ickle — the last man Carter wants to see after their brief, icy fling. Ice keeps everyone at arm’s length, but with no foster options available, he reluctantly takes Alex, and Carter steps in to help. Both men carry secrets, yet it’s Alex’s unspoken truths that could either bring them together or tear everything apart. This story was incredibly emotional, especially around Alex and everything he’d endured at such a young age that was the kind of trauma that makes you cry again and again as the truth comes out. His journey was the heart of the book, and it was impossible not to feel deeply for him. Where I struggled was with the relationship between Carter and Donald “Ice” Ickle. Carter’s attitude, particularly the insensitive questions he asked about Donald’s college job, felt jarring and out of character for someone meant to be caring. I also found it difficult to accept Carter’s tolerance of misogyny within his own family, which made their emotional connection harder to fully believe. But the ending was genuinely satisfying because it meant the bad men were jailed, Alex was finally safe with a permanent home secured for him. Despite my reservations about the romance, the emotional payoff for Alex made the story worth reading. This was an MM story with mature content. ** Please note the trigger warnings and be kind to yourself. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: The Royal in Room 3 by Gianni Holmes 3 of 5 stars
The Royal in Room 3 by Gianni Holmes My rating: 3 of 5 stars Jude works at Halo House, offering stability to boys who need it, but everything changes when Soren arrives — soft, sheltered, and secretly a deposed crown prince. Despite being an ex‑convict, Jude forms an intense bond with him, creating a scandal neither could survive. A prince and a felon shouldn’t fit, but Jude can’t walk away once he’s in too deep. I liked this book and the way it introduced the Halo House concept run by Phoenix, with Jude stepping in to help the boys who end up there. Soren felt incredibly naive and clueless about almost everything, which sometimes made me wonder whether what grew between him and Jude was truly love or more a mix of dependence and gratitude. I really felt for Jude — he had no idea who Soren really was and handled Soren’s inexperience with a lot of patience and tolerance. There were emotions and feelings throughout, but I often questioned how genuine or grounded they were, given the imbalance between them. Still, it was an interesting start to the Halo House world, and I’m curious to see how the series develops from here. This was an MM story with mature content with a BDSM-like Daddy/boy dynamic. Review #BookReview: Dearest Milton James by N.R. Walker 5 of 5 stars
Dearest Milton James by N.R. Walker My rating: 5 of 5 stars Malachi gets shoved into Sydney’s Dead Letter Office, expecting boredom, but instead finds a team of lovable misfits — including his calm, beige‑wearing boss Julian Pollard. Malachi’s chaotic energy clashes with Julian’s order, yet the chemistry between them sparks fast. To keep his job (and his father off his back), Malachi must unravel the mystery of the old letters in Julian’s office — and figure out the man himself. It’s an opposites‑attract tale about finding where you’re meant to be… or being returned to sender. I loved this story which was a charming opposites‑attract romance where Malachi’s colourful chaos fits surprisingly well with Julian Pollard and the wonderfully mismatched crew of the Dead Letter Office. The team of misfits was delightful, and Malachi slotted into their odd little world perfectly. The humour was a highlight, with plenty of moments that made me laugh out loud. I especially enjoyed the mystery of the old “Dear Milton James” letters that was a touching puzzle that brought the whole team together as they pieced together a forbidden romance from decades past. It added depth, emotion, and a lovely thread of nostalgia to the story. Overall, it was warm, funny, and full of feelings that was a joy to read from start to finish. Review #BookReview: Craving Sin by Riley Hart 4 of 5 stars
Craving Sin by Riley Hart My rating: 4 of 5 stars Rian, ruthless head of the O’Shea family, becomes dangerously obsessed with Doctor Preston Abbott and kidnaps him after an attempt on his life. Hidden away in a remote cabin, Preston treats his injuries even while knowing he may not survive. As days pass, Preston’s care and vulnerability spark a craving in Rian he never expected, blurring the line between captive and desired. In Rian’s violent world, Preston is his — to want, to touch… and possibly to kill. This was a dramatic, emotionally charged story, following Rian through both his physical recovery and a powerful bi‑awakening that shakes the foundations of his violent, controlled world. The tension never lets up — Rian insists from the start that he’ll kill Abbott once he’s healed, and Abbott accepts that fate with heartbreaking calm, adding a constant thread of jeopardy to every moment between them. Their connection is intense, messy, and full of feeling, making the darker elements of the story hit even harder. The ending delivers a dramatic punch, and with the way things close, there’s clearly more to uncover as the series continues. This was an MM story with mature content. ** Please note the trigger warnings and be kind to yourself. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Fire and Water by Andrew Grey 3 of 5 stars
Fire and Water by Andrew Grey My rating: 3 of 5 stars Officer Red Markham, scarred and grieving, works Carlisle’s streets as drug overdoses rise. Lifeguard Terry Baumgartner saves a drowning child, and a misunderstanding pushes him to rethink his kindness. Delivering meals brings him to Margie — Red’s outspoken aunt — linking their lives. As Red investigates the town’s drug problem and shields Terry from a dangerous ex, the two men begin to see past appearances and find the possibility of something real. This was a nice story, but I struggled with a few things — especially Terry’s shallowness early on and why Red was still so deeply grieving when his injuries weren’t fresh anymore. Their sudden leap into love also felt rushed, making it hard to fully believe in their connection. That said, I did enjoy the mystery thread: the new, deadly version of the drug hitting Carlisle and the strange delivery method behind it. The “who” was fairly obvious, but the real tension came from proving it, which kept the plot moving. Overall, a mixed but still enjoyable read, even if the romance didn’t quite convince me. Review #BookReview: Love at First Fright by T.J. Rose 4 of 5 stars
Love at First Fright by T.J. Rose My rating: 4 of 5 stars Charlie joins ExorSquad thinking it’s a scam, but Grimthorne Manor quickly proves otherwise — strange music at 3am, drifting dust motes, terrified locals, and a basement everyone avoids. His partner Brad is awful to work with, and Charlie’s certainty that ghosts aren’t real starts to crumble. Meanwhile Bat, one of the manor’s many ghosts, has spent years scaring people away. But Charlie’s gentle presence and unexpected musical talent make Bat want to protect him instead — especially from whatever lurks in the basement. And Brad? He might be looking a little too possessable. This was a crazy, fun ride through a wonderfully chaotic old English manor and the ghosts who call it home. Some spirits were genuinely dangerous, but most were quirky, friendly, and full of personality, which made the haunting feel more playful than frightening. I loved the relationship between Bat and Charlie — sweet, strange, and unexpectedly tender. Bat’s choices about who to possess were often hilarious, though occasionally questionable, adding to the wild charm of the story. The ending was enjoyable, even if a bit too convenient, wrapping things up neatly after all the chaos. Overall, a fun, ghost‑filled adventure with plenty of charm and mischief. This was an MM story. Review #BookReview: Nicks and Cuts by T.J. Nichols 3 of 5 stars
Nicks and Cuts by T.J. Nichols My rating: 3 of 5 stars Dante, a guarded knife maker back in Foggy Basin after a career‑ending injury, keeps everyone at arm’s length. Shannon arrives in town needing a fresh start, and Dante becomes a temptation he can’t resist. Their first hookup shouldn’t have happened, but the second comes easily as Shannon pushes forward and Dante hesitates, afraid of being hurt again. This was a nice story, but it definitely felt like something was missing, and the ending came with a sudden, almost jarring 180‑degree shift that didn’t quite land for me. I did enjoy the quieter moments — the cooking for each other, and Shannon’s habit of eating leftovers for lunch — those small domestic touches added warmth. The epilogue, though, didn’t feel far enough into the future to really count as one, which added to the sense of an abrupt finish. Overall, this was a disappointing addition to the Foggy Basin series, even if a few character interactions still brought some charm. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Love Comes to Light by Andrew Grey 4 of 5 stars
Love Comes to Light by Andrew Grey My rating: 4 of 5 stars Arik, struggling after a severe hand injury, goes to Pleasanton to work with Ken Brighton and meets Reg Thompson — a huge biker with a gentle heart. Arik slowly looks past Reg’s intimidating exterior, but when he discovers some of Reg’s club members are involved in drugs, the same world that caused his injury, he pulls away. Reg only understands why once the truth comes out, and both men must face the dangerous direction the club is heading. This was a story full of emotion and vulnerability, especially as Arik struggled with his hand injury, the impact on his painting career, and his growing feelings for Reg Thompson. Reg was an absolute teddy bear — steady, emotionally aware, and wonderfully gentle in every interaction. As the story went on, I found myself increasingly frustrated with Arik. He hadn’t truly tried to heal or adapt after his injury, and instead seemed to give up entirely. His massive chip on his shoulder and his complete shutdown after discovering the drug connection felt immature and made him harder to sympathize with. Still, there were moments I really enjoyed, especially the interactions within the wider circle of characters. Patrick was a standout — his observations and advice added warmth, clarity, and a much‑needed grounding presence. A story with strong emotional threads, even if much of it leaned toward a more clinical tone. This was an MM story with mature content. I rounded my review value as it was the 4 side of 3. Review #BookReview: Hollywood by D.J. Jamison 4 of 5 stars
Hollywood by D.J. Jamison My rating: 4 of 5 stars Hollywood becomes an unexpected single dad when his ex is injured, finally getting the chance to bond with his daughter, Ruby. His former best friend — and almost‑love — Tex steps in to help, quickly becoming essential to both of them. As Tex settles into their lives, old feelings resurface, but Hollywood fears Tex might run again. Now Hollywood must figure out whether Tex is truly ready to stay and love them both. This was such a sweet, heart‑warming story, centred on a bright little girl and two best friends learning how to reconnect and redefine what they mean to each other. I loved watching them figure out new ways to get along as their relationships shifted and deepened. The men on Redemption Road were wonderfully supportive, creating a warm, steady backdrop that made the themes of trust and honesty shine even more. So many feelings run through this book, all clearly expressed and easy to connect with, making the emotional journey feel genuine and satisfying. This was an MM story with mature content. Review #BookReview: The Devils in the Details by Aja Foxx 4 of 5 stars
The Devils in the Details by Aja Foxx My rating: 4 of 5 stars Ari fights to rebuild his family’s power after Geno’s downfall, cutting out the old guard and proving he can lead. His connection with Zephyr grows fast and dangerously, even as Ari worries about the target it puts on Zephyr. When his uncle Alexios and cousin Theo challenge him, and Theo’s obsession with Zephyr turns threatening, Ari shows just how ruthless he can be to protect what’s his. This was a dramatic, fast‑moving story as Ari took control of the Romano family while Zephyr helped him — and several powerful families — trace and sometimes retrieve suspicious financial transactions. I loved their dynamic: Ari thinking best with his lighter in hand, and Zephyr fuelled almost entirely by caramel sweets. The danger and tension throughout were easy to feel and understand, giving the whole book a sharp, high‑stakes atmosphere. It did feel like the author wrote this one a little differently than usual as it was more clinical, more strategic and less emotional but I still enjoyed the ride. Ari not marrying Zephyr near the end surprised me, though their connection remained strong. There were emotions and feelings woven through the story, even if much of it leaned toward cool precision rather than warmth. A dramatic, intriguing read with a compelling central pair. Review #BookReview: The Dragon's Accidental Manny by Colbie Dunbar 3 of 5 stars
The Dragon's Accidental Manny by Colbie Dunbar My rating: 3 of 5 stars Can accidentally lands a live‑in job and a home when Price's young son Jack opens the  door. He quickly falls for Price’s three warm‑to‑the‑touch kids (Jack, Isla, Bea) and for the man himself, not realizing they’re all dragon shifters hiding their secret behind leather bracelets and careful stories. As feelings grow, Can discovers he’s exactly where he’s meant to be — in a house full of love, fire, and fated mates. This was such a sweet, warm story, especially because Cam fell for the children long before he fell for Price. Their chaotic charm and affection made every scene with them shine, and I loved all the close shaves Cam had with discovering the truth — and the dramatic moments when everything finally came out. The way they slowly became a family was lovely to watch, even if I did feel the romance between Cam and Price needed a bit more affection to feel fully believable. Still, the heart of the story (the kids, the growing trust, the gentle emotions) worked beautifully. A tender, fire‑kissed tale full of feelings, family, and the kind of love that sneaks up on you. This was an MM story with mature content and MPREG. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Love Comes Unheard by Andrew Grey 4 of 5 stars
Love Comes Unheard by Andrew Grey My rating: 4 of 5 stars Garrett finally finds belonging with a family who signs, and quickly forms a deep bond with Wilson, the guarded Brit whose heart he unexpectedly reaches. Wilson is moved by Garrett’s gentle support of Janey, Connor and Dan’s deaf daughter, but trouble arrives when Wilson’s brother Reggie shows up with dangerous men demanding money. As threats escalate, Garrett and Wilson must rely on their growing love and the strength of the family around them to survive. This story was full of emotion from beginning to end, all clearly written and easy to feel right alongside the characters. I loved the relationships within this big, blended family — every bond, every moment of found‑family warmth, every protective instinct. Garrett and Wilson shared such meaningful similarities in how their own families had failed them, and watching them slowly trust each other was one of the highlights of the book. I especially appreciated how Dan did everything he could to shield them all from the trouble Reggie dragged in, standing firm for the people he loves. The feelings between Garrett and Wilson were strong and beautifully handled, and Garrett’s doubts were completely understandable and added depth to their journey. A lovely, heartfelt ending — absolutely perfect for them both. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Beast by Denver Shaw 4 of 5 stars
Beast by Denver Shaw My rating: 4 of 5 stars Milo escapes to the Wisconsin woods for solitude but instead meets Calder — a massive, wary cryptid who slowly lets him in. Their attraction grows even as something dangerous stalks the forest, and Calder keeps placing himself between Milo and the threat. Milo knows he should leave, but he stays, because they want each other despite every risk. This was a great nature‑rooted story, and I loved how Calder quietly taught Milo more about the forest — its animals, its plants, and the rhythms he’d lived with for so long. Their relationship grew beautifully as trust deepened, each step feeling natural and earned. The chipmunk family was adorable, and Mrs Alvarez added such warmth and grounding to the human side of Milo’s world. I really enjoyed how Milo and Calder found ways to compromise and blend their lives, even when their worlds seemed impossibly different. The emotions and feelings throughout were rich, clear, and easy to connect with. A tender, atmospheric romance full of heart, wilderness, and two men learning how to meet in the middle. Review #BookReview: The Dragon's Reluctant Manny by Colbie Dunbar 3 of 5 stars
The Dragon's Reluctant Manny by Colbie Dunbar My rating: 3 of 5 stars Ledger takes a live‑in manny job to save his funding and quickly realizes the three “spirited” kids run hot, leave scorch marks, and aren’t exactly normal. Their father, Theron, is just as impossible to ignore, blurring lines with every quiet, intimate moment. As Ledger falls for all of them, he starts sensing the truth he’s missed: this family is hiding something fiery — and life‑changing. I enjoyed this story, especially the three children who were absolutely hilarious at times and so affectionate as they quickly grew to love Ledger. Their chaotic sweetness lit up the whole book. I found Theron a little harder to connect with, but the contrast between his guarded nature and Ledger’s warmth made their dynamic interesting. The emotions and feelings throughout were clear, easy to understand, and woven naturally into the family moments, the slow‑burn connection, and the growing sense of belonging. A charming, emotional read with plenty of heart — and plenty of accidental fire. This was an MM story with mature content and MPREG. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Chef Rafe by Sam E. Kraemer 5 of 5 stars
Chef Rafe by Sam E. Kraemer My rating: 5 of 5 stars Rafe, a world‑famous chef and part‑time assassin, reunites by chance with Dallas, the bounty hunter he shared one unforgettable night with a year ago. Their chemistry reignites instantly, but as they try to reconnect, a sudden multi‑front attack on Rafe’s family pulls them into danger. Amid chaos, old enemies, and new threats, they fight to protect Rafe’s world — and see if their long‑delayed connection can survive. This final instalment delivered danger, drama, and high‑stakes tension as threats came from both new enemies and familiar foes (sometimes even working together) making the whole story feel like a pressure cooker ready to blow. Through all of it, the constant was Rafe and Dallas, who fought hard for moments of breathing room so they could work through their relationship and the feelings that had been building between them, even if those moments were snatched in tiny pieces. I loved their connection and the way they anchored the chaos around them. The glimpses of the other couples from earlier in the series were a wonderful touch, reminding me how much heart this world has carried from the beginning. The emotions and feelings throughout were clearly written, easy to understand, and easy to feel right alongside them. A dramatic, emotional finale and I’m genuinely going to miss all of these men. Love Comes Around by Andrew Grey My rating: 5 of 5 stars Dan, a former foster kid who now devotes himself to raising children with disabilities, is in the process of adopting Lila and Jerry when he hires Connor — another man shaped by abandonment — to make his home wheelchair accessible. As they work together, their shared pasts and quiet resilience spark a connection, forcing both to decide whether opening their hearts to love and family is worth the risk of being hurt again. This was such a heartfelt story, centred on two men with big, generous hearts who’ve both known what it feels like to be unwanted — and who now pour that love into children who need it most. It became clear so quickly that Dan and Connor had room for each other too, if they were willing to take that risk. I loved their connection and how much they had in common, especially the tenderness they showed toward Lila and Jerry. The affection they gave so freely made the story shine, and I appreciated how hard they worked to treat the kids as normal children with normal hopes and dreams, not defined by their disabilities. There was plenty of passion, emotion, and feeling throughout — all easy to understand and feel right alongside them. A beautifully emotional read about love, healing, and choosing family. Review #BookReview: Hard Rain by Reese Knightley 4 of 5 stars
Hard Rain by Reese Knightley My rating: 4 of 5 stars Axel and Whiplash are U.S. Marshals who’ve spent a year chasing fugitives as perfect partners and best friends. During one intense week on a new case, unexpected feelings surface, forcing them to face the biggest risk of all — falling for each other amid action, banter, and found family. This was the start of a new series, and the pacing reflected that — a little slower at first than I’d hoped — but once Axel and Whiplash settled into the case, the story really found its stride. I loved their history of knowing each other as kids and how that familiarity evolved into a deep adult bond when they became best friends and partners in the U.S. Marshals Service. Their connection, and especially their quiet possessiveness of each other, was one of my favourite parts. Their shorthand — finishing each other’s sentences or communicating with barely any words — takes a moment to adjust to, but it perfectly shows how tightly linked they are. The case itself was heavy, involving sex‑related crimes and powerful men pulling strings behind the scenes, and while the emotions between Axel and Whip were present, they understandably had to step aside at times so the investigation could take centre stage. There’s danger, drama, found family, and a stubborn partnership that’s clearly becoming something more. A strong emotional start to a series that promises even deeper feelings ahead. Review #BookReview: Love Comes Home by Andrew Grey 4 of 5 stars
Love Comes Home by Andrew Grey My rating: 4 of 5 stars Greg learns his son Davey is rapidly losing his sight, and a date with Tom is cut short when Davey suddenly goes completely blind. Tom doesn’t walk away—instead, he helps create a beep baseball team so Davey can keep playing. When Greg’s ex returns with a doctor offering a risky procedure that might restore Davey’s vision, Greg must decide how far he’ll go to help his son. I loved this story, especially the way it explored both Davey’s struggle with sudden sight loss and Greg’s determination to support him while also dealing with his ex‑wife’s meddling and the offer of a radical treatment that could help—or make everything worse. The focus on Davey’s frustrations felt honest and heartfelt, and while Greg’s emotions were there, I did feel they could have gone a little deeper. The introduction of beep baseball was wonderful, and I loved how quickly their friends rallied around to make it happen. It added hope and joy at a time when everything felt overwhelming. This was an emotional story that swept me into their lives, though I did struggle with whether the feelings between Greg and Tom were explored deeply enough to feel fully real—and whether Greg and Davey were more of a project for Tom than a true relationship foundation. A touching, heartfelt read with plenty of emotion and a meaningful look at resilience, family, and finding support in unexpected places. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Painted in Wildflowers by Emmy Sanders 4 of 5 stars
Painted in Wildflowers by Emmy Sanders My rating: 4 of 5 stars Remi’s longtime crush on Benson becomes something real when Benson returns to Darling, searching for himself and slowly letting Remi see his gentle, honest nature. As they grow close through quiet days, wildlife rehab, and Benson’s struggles with family and identity, love begins to bloom — and Remi realizes he’s not ready to lose the man he’s finally come to truly know. I loved this story as Remi slowly, patiently built a friendship with Benson — the man he’d quietly adored for years — and helped him find the confidence to communicate openly with his family about his autism. The sensitivity around Benson’s autism was beautifully handled, especially the varied, realistic reactions when he disclosed it. I also loved that Benson had been part of the original ASL learning group for Remi years ago, making it easy for him to pick it back up and deepen their connection as their friendship shifted into something more. Their dynamic was a gentle surprise, full of care and quiet devotion, right down to Remi talking things through with August to make sure he supported Benson in the best way. A tender, emotional story about love growing slowly, honestly, and with real understanding. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Heart Unheard by Andrew Grey 4 of 5 stars
Heart Unheard by Andrew Grey My rating: 4 of 5 stars Brent and Scott have explosive chemistry, but as boss and employee they keep things professional — until Scott is badly injured in an accident that leaves him deaf. Brent realizes he wants more than flirting, while Scott fears a relationship will complicate his already‑upended life. As they grow closer, they uncover darker truths: Scott’s “accident” may not have been accidental at all. This was a deeply emotional story built around the undeniable connection between Brent and Scott — a connection they both tried to resist while working together, but couldn’t ignore once Scott’s accident changed everything. I loved how Brent stayed by Scott’s side throughout his recovery, offering steady support without ever overwhelming him. It was a great touch that Brent turned to Austin and James for guidance for Scott on adapting to a sudden change in one of his senses. James’s blunt honesty, especially, added a grounding realism that made those moments stand out. I also enjoyed how they used the garage network to uncover who hit Scott’s car — a clever, satisfying thread in the mystery. While the story focused mostly on Scott’s life changing overnight, it also wove in meaningful pieces of Brent’s past, giving their relationship more depth. A very emotional read that sweeps you into their lives, their struggles, and their feelings from start to finish. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Avenging Kelly by Sam E. Kraemer 4 of 5 stars
Avenging Kelly by Sam E. Kraemer My rating: 4 of 5 stars Kelly, fresh out of the Disciplinary Barracks, is determined to uncover the truth about his sister’s kidnapping and pregnancy. London is grieving his friend Mathis and hunting the hit‑and‑run driver responsible. When Kelly arrives at the Victorian full of anger and questions, London steps in to help — and neither expects the powerful attraction that grows as they pursue justice together. This was definitely a mystery‑and‑thriller‑driven story, with Kelly and London working together to uncover what really happened to Kelly during his time in Disciplinary — and who was responsible for the terrible events involving his sister Mia. As they dug deeper, they also explored the undeniable connection growing between them, even while danger and tension surrounded every step of their investigation. I liked the surprise reveal of who killed Mathis; it added another sharp twist to an already layered mystery. It was wonderful to see Kelly finally find some happiness, even though it arrived at a strange, chaotic moment when both men were consumed by their search for answers. The story was full of emotions and feelings that were easy to understand and feel right along with them, and the ending delivered a well‑deserved happily ever after for both men. I did find myself wondering what happened next — especially how the military handled everything once the truth became public. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Love Comes in Darkness by Andrew Grey 4 of 5 stars
Love Comes in Darkness by Andrew Grey My rating: 4 of 5 stars Howard has fought his whole life to keep his independence as a blind man, but an argument with his boyfriend leaves him stranded on the roadside — until Gordy, a kind, quietly helpful stranger, steps in. Their connection grows just as Howard receives devastating news: his sister has died, leaving her young daughter in his care. Now facing his biggest challenge yet, Howard must learn when accepting help is strength, not weakness — and decide whether Gordy is the one man who can support him without ever limiting his freedom. I loved this emotional story about independent Howard, whose world is shaken first by being left alone on the freeway, then by his sister’s death, and finally by taking on the care of his niece Sophia. With the steady help of Gordy and his friends, Howard navigates every challenge including the prejudices he faces as a blind man without losing the fierce independence he’s fought so hard for. One of my favourite parts was seeing Howard return to his own home and regain almost all of that independence, choosing the help he needed on his terms. I also appreciated that the story didn’t pretend his relationship with Gordy was perfect; the stress they were under led to some sharp moments, and that honesty made their bond feel more real. A heartfelt, emotional read with plenty of feelings throughout — and yes, you’ll cry a little. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: My Demon Hacker by Stella Rainbow 4 of 5 stars
My Demon Hacker by Stella Rainbow My rating: 4 of 5 stars Gabriel has one goal: get revenge, steal the money, and keep his life complication‑free. But hiring Xin — a demon hacker who’s brilliant, sweet, and far too good at getting under his skin — throws his careful plans off balance. As their connection grows, Gabriel struggles to stay focused, knowing he can’t afford distractions when he’s this close to achieving what he’s spent years planning. Love, however, might be the one rule he can’t keep himself from breaking. A sweet, emotional story where Xin recognises Gabriel as his fated mate but is patient enough to give him the time and space he needs to fall in love at his own pace. Their choice to date made the relationship feel tender and thoughtful, and the writing kept me engaged throughout. I did feel Gabriel’s acceptance of Xin’s demon nature came a little too easily, but overall the story was warm, well written, and full of clear, heartfelt emotions. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Glow by Morgan Brice 3 of 5 stars
Glow by Morgan Brice My rating: 3 of 5 stars Dan, the Dover Demon, flees bounty hunters and intrusive podcasters to seek refuge in Fox Hollow while struggling with the spirit he inherited too soon. Park ranger Quinn steps in to protect him, and a quiet romance begins to grow. But danger follows them — from hunters, from podcasters threatening shifter secrecy, and from a newly emerged monster. Together, Dan, Wally, and Quinn must survive all of it while figuring out their fragile new connection. I enjoyed this story about Dan, his daemon side Wally, and Quinn, the protective park ranger who steps in when Dan needs help most. Fox Hollow was the perfect setting — a welcoming town for supernatural beings that made their growing connection feel warm and believable. The dangers they faced were fun and engaging, from bounty hunters to podcasters to the larger threat lurking in the forest. I liked the adventure woven through the romance. That said, there were a few too many coincidences and complications, which made parts of the plot feel a bit manufactured, and Dan sometimes came across as a little whiny. Still, the story had plenty of emotion, charm, and heart, with moments that were easy to feel and understand. A supernatural romance with danger, warmth, and a unique bond at its centre. Heart Unseen by Andrew Grey My rating: 4 of 5 stars Trevor is used to charm, attention, and casual flings, but meeting James — a blind teacher who knows exactly what he wants — forces him to slow down and connect for real. Their friendship grows into something deeper as James steps outside his comfort zone and Trevor confronts the pain in his past. Together, they begin building a relationship rooted in trust, vulnerability, and genuine love. This was a very enjoyable love story between two men with one of them blind and I loved how capable and independent James was throughout. His confidence and self‑reliance meant Trevor never pitied him or tried to control him, which made their relationship feel wonderfully balanced and respectful. It was also great that James could support Trevor with his own struggles, giving real help and grounding their connection in mutual care. That dynamic made their romance feel like a true partnership rather than one‑sided caretaking. There were many emotions and feelings woven through the story, all easy to understand and feel right along with them. This book will make you smile, and it will make you sad too — all in a way that feels heartfelt and beautifully written. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Noble Bruno by Sam E. Kraemer 5 of 5 stars
Noble Bruno by Sam E. Kraemer My rating: 5 of 5 stars Bruno and Dominic never meant to be married — their fake New Year’s Eve wedding becomes real when the license is unexpectedly filed and Bruno disappears on an undercover mission. While Dom struggles with the shock of their legal marriage, Bruno uncovers a traitor tied to Dom’s world and faces a painful choice: reveal the truth and hurt the man he loves, or keep the secret and risk everything to hold onto their future. This was by far the most emotional story in the series, with Bruno at the centre of every moment as he tried to win Dominic’s heart while also investigating the dangerous leak inside the organisation. His determination to protect Dominic — and the wider Torrente family — gave the whole book a powerful mix of love, loyalty, and tension. I loved seeing the other men settled and happy in their relationships, which made the unfolding danger around Gabby and Dexter’s children even more dramatic. The reveal of who was responsible added real suspense, keeping the mystery sharp and engaging. An emotional, dramatic, and deeply felt story, full of danger, devotion, and the fierce love Bruno carried for both Dominic and the family he fought to protect. Love Comes Silently by Andrew Grey My rating: 5 of 5 stars Ken is exhausted from caring for his daughter Hanna during her cancer battle, and the quiet support of his neighboUr Patrick — a former singer grieving the loss of his voice — becomes an unexpected comfort. As anonymous gifts brighten Hanna’s days, Ken and Patrick slowly form a tender bond. When Hanna is sent home with an uncertain future, Ken realizes he wants a life with both her and Patrick, even as Patrick’s silence leaves him unsure of what their future could be. This was a charming, emotional story with Hanna at its heart, as both Ken and Patrick tried to show her that if love alone could cure cancer, she would have been healed instantly. Yes, both men were wealthy enough to step away from work, but that never detracted from the tenderness of their journey. Hanna was an absolute sweetheart, and I loved how naturally she connected with Patrick — long before Ken learned how to communicate with him just as deeply. Their growing bond felt gentle and real, and the story balanced its emotional weight with moments that genuinely make you smile. A beautifully written, heartfelt read that’s easy to feel and understand, with emotions running through every page. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Honeymoon for One by Keira Andrews My rating: 4 of 5 stars Ethan, reeling from betrayal the night before his wedding, takes his honeymoon alone and meets Clay, a newly divorced tour‑bus driver starting over in his forties. Ethan’s loneliness and Clay’s quiet, rugged steadiness spark an unexpected friendship that slowly deepens into something neither man saw coming. As their days together pass, a surprising romance grows — one that neither wants to end when the trip does. This was a great story that began with a painful betrayal and ended with real bravery and acceptance as Ethan and Clay each found the man who was perfect for them. It’s a lovely friends‑to‑lovers journey and a thoughtful bi awakening for Clay, handled with warmth and care. Ethan was a wonderful hard‑of‑hearing character, and the story gave a clear, empathetic look at what it can feel like to lose your hearing in your twenties — the isolation, the adjustments, and the resilience. There were deep emotions and feelings throughout, not just for the main couple but for many of the people around them, which made the whole book feel rich and heartfelt. Fit for a King by Brooke Blaine by Ella Frank My rating: 4 of 5 stars Nicholas, a reluctant new king expected to marry for duty, finds himself drawn to Noah, the warm, loyal footman who truly sees him. Noah knows kings choose princes, not staff, but their connection grows despite expectations. When duty clashes with desire, they must decide if rewriting the fairytale is worth the risk. This was a great forced‑proximity romance, starting with a perfect grumpy and sunshine dynamic that slowly deepened into something truly meaningful. Nicholas and Noah didn’t fall for each other instantly — their connection built gradually, layer by layer, until it felt wonderfully deep and earned. Their hopeless situation around Nicholas’s political marriage added strong drama, and the eventual conclusion was suitably intense and satisfying. Nicholas’s brother played an important role in the unfolding events, adding even more emotional weight to the story. A beautifully emotional read with a slow‑burn bond, royal tension, and a finale that delivers exactly what you hope for. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Duke’s life is shaken by a painful truth, Corbin is rebuilding himself after past mistakes, and Ace is a wanderer who’s never found a place to stay. As they grow closer, they begin to heal and discover the possibility of becoming a family — if they’re willing to fight for it. This was a great story full of drama, danger, and emotional intensity as Duke, Corbin, and Ace tried to figure out what kind of relationship they wanted together. Their journey wasn’t simple — every step forward came with new challenges, old wounds, and the constant pressure of the threats surrounding them. All three men had deep emotions and complicated feelings, and many of the people around them did too, which made the entire story feel layered and heartfelt. Cameron is determined to get the grumpy brewer to relax — and maybe spark something more — but a growing threat in their peaceful town may complicate everything. This was a great story, full of emotional ups and downs as Everett and Cameron navigated the rocky start of their relationship. Everett’s dream of launching his brewery, and the stress of someone tampering with it, made their journey feel like a rollercoaster, flipping from steady to shaky in all the best ways. There were plenty of clear, heartfelt emotions throughout, and the contrast between Everett’s grumpy determination and Cameron’s bright, easy warmth made their dynamic really engaging. Despite the setbacks, misunderstandings, and pressure surrounding Everett’s work, they managed to pull everything together and earn the happy ending they deserved. Each couple arrives with big life plans — babies, new jobs, future homes, even living abroad — while surprise guests add extra chaos. By the end of the weekend, someone is getting married. This was a great holiday story, offering a wonderful update on the lives of all the GEA‑A heroes and their partners. The events at the cabin felt exactly like something this group would get up to — chaotic, warm, funny, and full of their trademark camaraderie. I loved seeing all the relationship updates and the different dynamics between the couples. Discovering friends who share his age regression dynamic is freeing, but he’s determined to forget his disastrous hookup with Brad. Brad came to town for a second chance, focused on his five‑year plan, but their mistaken‑identity hookup forces him to make peace with Luca. Friendship quickly blurs as Brad’s long‑suppressed Daddy instincts resurface, leaving them both wanting more. This was a sweet, emotionally warm story with plenty of clear, easy‑to‑feel emotions throughout. Luca was an adorable little when he let himself relax as he became cute, affectionate, and occasionally a brat which made his dynamic with Brad really charming. Brad came to Surf City determined to rebuild his life after a painful breakup, and although he tried hard to resist his Daddy instincts, Luca’s gentle persistence made it impossible for him to hold back forever. Ruined by Ally Avery My rating: 4 of 5 stars Ollie reunites with Logan years after the man who once cared for him like family suddenly walked out of his life. Logan wants to make up for the time they lost, but Ollie’s feelings have shifted into something far more complicated — and far less appropriate. Despite knowing it’s wrong and fearing he’ll be hurt again, Ollie can’t deny how strongly he’s drawn back to him. This was a forbidden romance filled with plenty of emotions and complicated feelings as Logan struggled with his conscience and both men wrestled with how or whether to tell Ollie’s family. The tension around their past and the weight of what their relationship meant added a strong emotional pull throughout the story. It also touched on several clear tropes, including former stepdad and stepson, age gap (24 years), hurt/comfort, caretaking, and a size difference. These elements shaped the dynamic between them without ever overshadowing the emotional core of the story. There were plenty of feelings throughout, and watching both men navigate guilt, longing, fear, and hope made the story compelling. It’s a messy, emotional journey — but one that keeps you invested in how they’ll handle the fallout of loving someone they’re not supposed to. The Art of Drowning by E.M. Denning My rating: 5 of 5 stars Callum saves Damien from drowning one summer, sparking a bond that Callum’s possessive brother Sam later tears apart. Damien builds a new life far away, but Sam’s death brings the two men back together — along with the dangerous secrets Sam left behind. This was a very emotional story, full of feelings and turmoil, as Callum and Damien tried to navigate the damage Sam caused in both their lives. Sam was absolutely the villain here — bitter, manipulative, and determined to control everyone around him. Even during his health crisis, he used the situation to inflict more hurt, which made his presence loom over the entire book. I appreciated how clearly the Then and Now chapters were marked, making the shifts between past and present easy to follow. Both men had supportive friends who tried their best to help, even when their advice wasn’t always welcome. Through all the danger, grief, and unresolved history, the story carried a strong emotional core that made their journey compelling. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Trent by Dale Mayer My rating: 4 of 5 stars Trent’s team rescues Naomi and six‑year‑old Ricky from a deadly situation at sea, only to uncover a larger web of drug trafficking, secrets, and danger. As the mission expands, Naomi’s fierce devotion to Ricky becomes the heart of the story — a vulnerable boy with no real support except the woman who’s loved him as her own. Their bond is strained by shocking revelations and threats from people who should have protected him. Fast, emotional, and suspenseful, the story blends action with found‑family warmth and a growing romance. A submarine rescue, an unexpected guardian, and a final twist deliver a hard‑earned happily ever after. A gripping mix of interconnected mysteries and long‑buried secrets, this story keeps a little boy and his devoted nanny/teacher at its heart. Ricky and Naomi’s bond is the emotional anchor as each lie and hidden truth is peeled back, slowly revealing the full picture only at the very end. Trent steps in as their protector and advocate, and the rescue carried out by his team sets off a chain of danger, revelations, and tense confrontations. The attraction between Trent and Naomi simmers beneath the surface, never overshadowing the urgent fight to keep Ricky safe but adding a lovely spark to the unfolding drama. It’s easy to be swept up in the suspense, the layered secrets, and the fierce loyalty binding these characters together. A compelling blend of danger, heart, and mystery. Salesman Mateo by Sam E. Kraemer My rating: 4 of 5 stars Mateo comes to America out of fierce Torrente family loyalty, tasked with protecting his cousin’s children and uncovering a traitor. He tries to keep his life free of emotional ties, but meeting Shay Barr — a talented New York barber with a dangerous past — shakes that resolve. Shay is facing the return of the religious zealots he escaped as a teen, while Mateo is surrounded by threats to his own family. Their chemistry is instant, and each man becomes exactly what the other needs as danger closes in from both sides. This story had an undeniable connection between Mateo and Shay, even when the drama surrounding them from family threats to dangerous pasts that made things hard. As the tension ramped up, Mateo found himself intervening again and again, digging into both current and historical events to keep everyone safe. There were plenty of emotions and feelings, good and bad, woven through the story. Shay was a standout for me — someone who often felt like he needed a hug as he tried to cope with everything thrown at him, yet still managed to stay strong and compassionate. A dramatic, emotional read with two men fighting danger, family turmoil, and their own fears to hold onto something real. This was an MM story with mature content. Buy from Amazon

Review #BookReview: Herds and Hooves by B.L. Maxwell 4 of 5 stars
Herds and Hooves by B.L. Maxwell My rating: 4 of 5 stars Keith is a lifelong Foggy Basin local, content with his quiet rural routine, while Bart arrives from suburban Sacramento completely out of his element. Lost during the town’s Pride parade, Bart accepts help from Keith — a small choice that sparks a connection and may push this city boy toward a life he never expected. This was an enjoyable story as Bart arrived in Foggy Basin to help his aging uncle with the family dairy farm and ended up never leaving, while Keith crossed paths with him through work. I especially loved Bart’s uncle as he brought a lot of fun and warmth to the story. Keith was harder for me to connect with, mostly because he stayed so reticent about something in his past, and we never really learned what that was. The baby cow added some humour, though a few moments were confusing, especially the switch between feeding from its mother and being bottle‑fed. Overall, the story had light emotions and feelings throughout, and I enjoyed spending time with these characters and the gentle, small‑town charm of their world.
