Multichannel rendering in Kiln v0.4.1 beta. This is a fruit fly brain. Unlike the ones currently all over your feed, it doesn't play Beat Saber. It just sits there, streamed from OME-Zarr in native WebGPU and rendered at full 16-bit precision across four fluorescence channels. #OME-Zarr #WebGPU

Sneak preview of upcoming multichannel support in Kiln. The initial implementation focuses on basic channel rendering. Per-channel visibility, color, and leveling. More advanced controls will follow. Side note: I have no idea what I'm looking at, but it's fun. #WebGPU #OME-Zarr

New release of #BigVolumeBrowser (0.1.1) adds support for (multiscale) OME-Zarr (thanks to libraries from @bogovicj.bsky.social, Stefan Hahmann, Vladimir Ulman). And midi gizmo navigation (from @herrsaalfeld.bsky.social ), shown below.

Kiln (0.2.1) is part of the ecosystem. The project was accepted to the OME-NGFF tools registry. It's now a recognized viewer for OME-Zarr datasets alongside other established tools from this domain. Thanks @ OME community for the listing. ngff.openmicroscopy.org/resources/to... #webgpu #ome-zarr

Small update from Kilian. Kiln (0.2.1) is now available on npm. I refactored the internals into what I’d now consider a stable and usable API surface and published the initial package. New official address of our friend Kilian: www.npmjs.com/package/kiln... #webgpu #volume-rendering #ome-zarr

Small update from Kilian. Kiln (0.2.0) now supports local filesystem streaming, auto-leveling from dataset metadata, improved OME-Zarr handling (v0.5 uint8/unit16) and a few improvements on the UI. github.com/MPanknin/kil... #webgpu #volume-rendering #ome-zarr

The new release of #BigVolumeBrowser (0.1.0) finally adds animation render functionality to it, plus some other navigation improvements and bug fixes. Here is a movie I've made for the microtubule network (via ExM) in different cell types. Contact me if you want it for educational/research purposes.

Kiln also has experimental OME-Zarr support. This is the Beechnut — a 3 GB micro-CT scan streamed directly from a public OME-Zarr store into the browser. No preprocessing, no conversion. github.com/MPanknin/kil... #WebGPU #OMEZarr #VolumeRendering

Meet Kilian. A 2 GB CT scan of a chameleon — rendering in the browser in a few hundred milliseconds. Built with Kiln: a WebGPU-native out-of-core volume renderer. Bricked volume storage, GPU memory virtualization, LRU streaming, compute shader ray marching. Open source: github.com/MPanknin/kil...
