Hey, this is big and really important if you like comics even a little bit. Comixology was bought, enshittified, and killed by Amazon. But Sweetshop is open now. It's rad, and they're not assholes.

A #ClipStudio update from the Japanese twitter account. (English translation split into two pics due to alt text character limit)

CLIP STUDIO ASSETS

Currently, some materials on CLIP STUDIO ASSETS are not publicly available. As we review materials in accordance with our operational guidelines, the number of materials being made private is increasing, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We also apologize for any concern or anxiety caused by our insufficient explanation. We are truly sorry.

Even if the content is deleted or changed to a private state by the administrator, there will be no rights issues unless it is removed as infringing material. You can continue to use the materials you have already downloaded.

- We will be reviewing the materials that were made private, starting with those that had errors in their judgment and those that have been corrected to a problem-free state, and plan to make them public again. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to the material creators and users of the materials.

- For those who have already acquired materials through purchase or other means, we will be making improvements so that even materials that have been made private can be re-downloaded from My Downloads in CLIP STUDIO ASSETS. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience.

CLIP STUDIO ASSETS is currently used by people in many countries and regions. Some expressions can be perceived very differently depending on the age, culture, and region of the user. Therefore, when it comes to sensitive expressions, it is more important than ever to consider not only whether they can be published or not, but also who they are for and how they should be displayed.

This decision to keep the work private does not negate the work or the artist's expression itself. Nor is it intended to label the work as containing "inappropriate expression." It is simply a decision based on how it can be published within the current public service of CLIP STUDIO ASSETS.

We understand that some users have expressed concerns about the publication process, such as "which expressions are subject to restrictions" and "how to modify content to make it publicly available." Our publication decision is not based solely on specific parts or expressions; rather, we review the entire content, presentation, and publication information of the material. Furthermore, the points we consider and the necessary actions in our publication decisions are constantly evolving. In the future, we will enhance our explanations of publication rules and provide more representative examples to make it easier for users to make informed decisions before submitting.

Ideally, we would like to be able to zone more precisely using age restrictions, region-specific display controls, and content filters. In the future, we plan to strengthen the display system based on age, region, and user settings.
Rather than offering a binary choice between "display to all users" or "not making it public at all," we aim to allow users to publish their work in a way that suits the content of their expression. We will continue to improve the ASSETS system and operation to support a wide range of creative expressions, aiming for both a safe and reliable user experience and the ability to handle diverse forms of expression.

The Emma Frost x Miss Piggy comic has hit the internet and it's so, so, so much more magnificent than I ever could have hoped for

Emma Frost: "Emma Frost, darling. I'm a telepath. May I read your mind to ascertain if you're telling the truth?"

Miss Piggy: "But of course, darling I am an open book, a tell-all memoir."

Emma Frost telepathically witnessing the entirety of Miss Piggy's life.

Wolverine: "Frost? She legit?"
Emma Frost: "She's..She's... She's everything. And I would die for her."

I said this before and I'll say it again but if my father who was born in 1947 in a rural village deep in the goddamn mountains in Japan could become fluent in English, no one needs to use genAI to learn a new language. :| In fact, I'd argue it would be detrimental to properly learn a new language.

Hey! Today, September 21st, is the 18th anniversary of the premiere of Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return! The OVA Tarble debuted in! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEST BOY!!!

A simple doodle of Tarble from Dragon Ball Z. He is dressed in formal armor with the royal family symbol over his heart and wearing a blue cape. Despite the formal outfit, his expression is very innocent and cute.

I'm sure it's not the intent, but the phrasing of this is so funny "Together for the first time in forever". Like "hm? What sequel? There's no sequel." (And they'd be right since Takahashi has no involvement save for some character designs)
