3rd rebuild and I'm definitely getting the hang of it. Relying less and less on guides! #godot #indiegame

Three pools of dice with reroll and play hand buttons. Basic godot game development.

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

In an attempt to overcome my creative drought, I started learning Godot :P I got a bit into game dev with Unity about a decade ago so I'm not new new, but its still very different.. But hey - look - I made some dice! It's not much but they're mine :) #godot #indiegame

Incredibly basic 2d dice with a reroll button in the godot game engine.

Managed to keep daily practice in for 8 days - not too bad :p

Day 7 - practice practice! If I manage to stick with this (doubtful) my weekday ones will definitely be more rushed, experimenting and practicing with big messy brushes. Weekends are for spending a bit more time and maybe revisiting some of the messy ones and giving them more love :)

There are antique tomes penned by the author Albrech that vary from dense historical studies to strange fairy tales. Possession is taboo and reading is forbidden, though those who enforce these rules want the books for themselves... #ttrpg #dnd

Day 6 - Unfinished Mountains, a bit strapped for time cos I'm about to go see Marty Supreme :D

A quick unfinished paint of some mountains, very rough brush work.

Day #4 Skyline - not super happy with this one but practice! Just trying to get more confident with what I'm doing :) Just spending an hour putting ink to screen!

Day #2 of trying to get back into my art groove. Not proud of these, but just trying to get that digital ink down on the canvas instead of overthinking it :)

Happy new year team! :D My vague new years resolution is to try and get out of my art rut - get back to creating #art for the love of creating! I haven't really touched my graphics tablet in like a year, so lets change that! Don't judge too harshly for my 45 minute random splash of digital ink <3

War of the Worlds was so bad I had to take a 2 month break from social media... jk jk But for real, how's everything been? I've been keeping up with my home game, entering mid-game #dnd power-levels, that's where the sauce is for me! >:)

I just watched War of the Worlds (2025) out of pure curiosity and like.. it started out 'funny bad' but by the end it was just 'bad bad'. Almost a 2/10 but nah... this wasn't it... 1/10! No thanks!

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 25/08/2025

I just saw Rocketman and it was really fun! As a musical it was very enjoyable with some bold performances, but as a screenplay it kinda felt like a first draft... The creative choices didn't feel in service of much, just drifting from song to song. Loved the ending scene though. Overall high 6/10

Finally my Entire Tyranny of Dragons party is finished. Again sorry for the absence I just couldn't make my hands cooperate but I think that result was worth the several failed attempts I knew I could do better and so I deleted my art repeatedly until I did.

#Daggerheart has been a lot of fun so far! My bf is starting up a game of their own on tuesday, can't wait!!! Got me thinking - I might try converting my #5e magic items over to daggerheart... would be a fun exercise! What do you think?

I finally got around to watching Better Man - the robbie williams bipoic and it was so good! Had a really good sense of tone in both the writing and the visuals. The effects were great. The story was like any other music biopic, but it was told in such a creative and engaging way. Loved it! 8/10

I just saw the new superman movie and despite expecting it to be mid - it was fantastic! Good comedy mixed with really strong themes that I connected with - outstanding performances all around but especially Lex Luthor - a lot of style in the action. Everything I could've wanted 9/10

First impressions - man it feels so much cleaner than d&d with so many opportunities to mess with mechanics. Players have a lot of resources, the GM has resources, just stuff to interact with. I like it a lot :)

I rewatched Primer and man I love this film! Between three viewings and one youtube summary I now feel like I've got a pretty good grasp on the story. I love how grounded yet mindblowing it is. Tense, surreal, existential and thought provoking. Truly fantastic. 9/10

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 11/07/2025

I watched Thunderbolts* and it was pretty good! I'm definitely at the point of wanting more from my superhero films and this delivers with its themes. Some great humour too! It was quite passive viewing though, not really any subtlety to it. Definitely my favourite of the suicide squad movies! 7/10

Anyone tried out #daggerheart yet? I mainly run D&D 5e/5.5e with a bit of Cypher experience too. Thinking about giving it a go but not sure how to feel about the fear resource for action economy. Sounds like I'm reliant on a randomly acquired resource to do meaningful actions yknow.. Any thoughts?

I just watched The Phoenician Scheme and it was great! I'm generally a fan of Wes Anderson, I always find myself completely sucked into the experience. This was no different. Very fun, great imagery and presentation, just flew by. It's a very high 7/10 from me! Great watch :D

Got to run my first #dnd game with the new monster manual! Gotta say, loving how readable the new blocks are. It was only a Hill Giant and some Axe Beaks but still.. Such a nice redesign :D

I watched Passengers (2016) and I struggled to like much about it, but what really bothered me was how forced the premise felt - I was never satisfied by answers given to "why can't we try X and Y to fix this". It had some good moments of emotion, but it was in service to a really dumb film 3/10

020

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 03/03/2025

I watched The Greatest Beer Run Ever and I ended up loving this way more than expected! It started out fine, the lead was obnoxious but nuanced, and it got better and better as I watched more. Insanely interesting premise, based on a true story. Really got into it. 7/10

000

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 03/03/2025

I watched The Gorge (2025) and it started out really great! I loved the romance that developed in this strange and mysterious scenario but after the half way point, it just devolved into the most generic sci-fantasy action slop... Would've honestly made a great video game premise tbh - 4/10 movie

030

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

I just watched The Wild Robot and I absolutely loved it! I'm a sucker for animation style but this is really the complete package. Endearing characters, high tension, so much heart and soul into what's on screen. Despite a moment of action that felt out of place, this was a slam dunk 10/10 for me!

010

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 22/02/2025

I just watched The Six Triple Eight and it was a really really interesting story! I don't normally like these war time movies but this didn't focus on the fighting itself very much. Unfortunately, as much as I loved the story, it fell completely flat in its directing. 6/10 overall!

000

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 20/02/2025

I watched A Complete Unknown and despite not really caring much for Bob Dylan or american folk music, I kinda loved it! Timothy Chamelet does a fantastic job embodying this character and the story was presented in a really engaging way! 7/10

I just watched Lucy and what a bonkers film that was! I don't think I have much to say about it, was fun! Pretty goofy, meh special effects, bonkers plot, pretty short which is a plus. Probably a high 5/10 for my list. I had a good time :p

030

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 04/02/2025

I just watched The Only Girl in the Orchestra, and it has a lot in common with The Last Repair Shop from last year. It's short, and if you've got an interest in the orchestra, you'll probably get a lot out of this. For me, I found this to be quite boring. Not bad, just not enjoyable 4/10 #oscar25

000

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 04/02/2025

It's Oscars time! I watched Emilia Pérez and wow was that a mess! I kinda loved some of the presentation; the surreal musical opera style, and Zoe's performance was great. Besides that, the plot was just all over the place with a really unsatisfying resolution and dramatic catharsis.. low 4/10

000

Mowse Brews @mowsebrews.bsky.social · 04/02/2025

I just watched Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and it was wonderful! My boyfriend said it best: "really felt like a classic". W&G is such a core part of my childhood so I am biased. Very funny and charming; love this silly penguin! And the stop motion is top notch as ever! 8/10
