It runs natively on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with an Apple Watch app for marking episodes from your wrist. Everything syncs through your own iCloud, so your library follows you and belongs to you.

Upcoming tells you what is airing next and how many days are left. Widgets put your Spaces or your Backlog on the Home and Lock Screen. Siri and Shortcuts cover every action in the app, so you can automate it however you like.

Statistics turn your history into something worth looking at. Watch time for movies and shows, episodes per day, movies per month, your most watched actors and genres, and a calendar of everything you saw on any given day.

Spaces are lists you build by hand. Smart Lists build themselves. You set the rules once, and anything in your library that matches shows up automatically. Unwatched sci-fi from the last five years. Everything you rated 9 or above. Shows you are halfway through.

Every title has full details, cast, seasons and episodes. Mark episodes watched, rate anything from a movie to a single episode on a ten point scale, and add private notes. Where to watch is built in, so you see which services stream, rent or sell it.

Your library is built around three ideas. The Backlog is where you dump anything a friend recommends, in two taps. Spaces are custom lists for how you actually watch: shows with your partner, movies for a night with friends, a saga you are working through.

@movietracker.bsky.social takes the opposite approach. It is privacy first. Your data belongs to you, stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud. No central server collecting your habits, and you are never locked in. Your library is yours to keep and export whenever you want.

A wave of apps now calls itself the replacement. One bragged that its users have tracked over 10 million episodes. Ask yourself how they can know that. Every episode you mark is sent to their server and counted. The failed model is being rebuilt, and you are the product again.

TV Time shuts down July 15 and everyone is scrambling for a replacement. Before you move your shows, understand why it is closing. A free service still costs real money to run, and that never lasts. Free is not free. You either pay with your data or when the app shuts down.

I often receive App Store reviews complaining that my apps are paid while there are “many free alternatives”. It is fair feedback, and it always makes me stop and think. Is my message not clear enough, or do people simply not care.

Every year there is at least one movie or series that stays with us. A story that defined a moment of our year. What was your most memorable watch of this year? I would love to know what stayed with you and why.

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 18/11/2025

The more apps try to keep you scrolling, the less time you spend watching. Movie Tracker was built differently. No feeds, no followers, no distractions: just your movies and series, beautifully organized. Because tracking what you watch should take seconds, not hours.

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 17/11/2025

Algorithms tell us what to watch next. But what if you only followed your own taste? Movie Tracker is made for people who want to choose their movies and series freely, without feeds or ratings from others. Your taste. Your watchlist. Your time.

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

Some movies and shows never leave you. You rewatch them not to see what happens, but to feel what they made you feel the first time. Movie Tracker helps you keep track of what you rewatch and when, so those memories never fade. Because good stories deserve more than one watch.

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 13/11/2025

Every icon, color, and animation in Movie Tracker is something I designed myself. No team, no company behind it, just me at my desk writing code and testing features. I want the app to feel effortless, quiet, and built with care. Indie development means creating something by hand for real people.

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 12/11/2025

Movies are more than entertainment, they’re memories. A night at the cinema, a film that changed your mood, a story that stayed with you for years. Movie Tracker helps you keep track of what you’ve watched but also when and how it made you feel. Because movies aren’t just titles, they’re moments.

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 11/11/2025

It’s small touches like this that make tracking feel effortless. If you could build one Smart List for your movie life, what would it be?

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 11/11/2025

One of my favorite features in Movie Tracker is Smart Lists. You choose the filters and the app builds the list automatically. Want a “Favorites of 2025” list? Done. “Unwatched Critics’ Picks”? Easy. They update on their own, so you can focus on watching, not sorting.

100

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 10/11/2025

Each update came from feedback: not analytics, not algorithms. That’s what makes indie development unique: real conversations shape the product. If you love cinema, Movie Tracker is made for you. What’s the feature you’d love most in a movie-tracking app?

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 10/11/2025

When I built the first version of Movie Tracker, it only did one thing: store movie recommendations from my friends. Then users asked for watch history, ratings, Smart Lists, and iCloud sync.

100

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 08/11/2025

You don’t scroll feeds. You scroll your watch history. Movie Tracker is for people who want to remember movies, not rank them.

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 08/11/2025

Differences in a nutshell: 🔒 100% private: no accounts, no tracking 🎬 Watch history by date ⭐️ Ratings and personal notes ⚡️ Smart Lists that update automatically 💾 iCloud sync and backup support

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 08/11/2025

Letterboxd is perfect for sharing opinions, reading reviews and being part of a community. But what if you just want to organize your movies privately, without social feeds or comments? That’s where Movie Tracker comes in. It’s designed for people who love cinema but prefer simplicity.

Movie Tracker helps you rediscover what you’ve already watched and remember what’s next.

000

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 07/11/2025

Once a movie is in your library, you can: - Mark it as watched - Rate it and add notes - See your watch history organized by date - Create Smart Lists that update automatically Everything syncs privately with iCloud, so your collection is always safe: no accounts, no ads.

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 07/11/2025

I built Movie Tracker to make it easy to keep track of everything you watch and everything you still want to see. You can add movies or TV shows in seconds. Each title shows cast, directors, release year, genres, and rating info.

Now I can easily check what I’ve seen, when I watched it, and what I still want to watch, all without losing track again. Movie Tracker is designed for movie lovers who want a private, simple, and beautiful way to manage their watchlists across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

100

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 06/11/2025

That’s how Movie Tracker started. At first, it was just a simple list of titles. Then came the features: • Mark as watched • Ratings and watch history • Smart Lists that update automatically

100

Movie Tracker @movietracker.bsky.social · 06/11/2025

Every time a friend recommended a movie or a TV show, I thought, “I’ll save it somewhere”. But then I’d forget the title. Notes, screenshots, text messages, nothing worked. I wanted one place to keep all those suggestions organized, along with the movies I’d already watched.
