MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Currently existing in a bowl of sunshine and delight encircled by cloud. Birds are delighted with the weather. 120
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Every morning is a mixture of loveliness and climate concern. Needing rain as we do. Listening to magpies, jacks, crows and Robins as I walk. 000
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Beautiful. We had a sunset like this visiting Norfolk at new year. Gasp worthy. Completely wrapped around us. 110

MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Decided another day trip was in order. Drive to Poole. Lytchett Reserve (marsh Harrier) last minute ticket on @harbourbirds.bsky.social autumn safari this afternoon. Up on Ham Common for sunset. Tidy. 4 eagles, 2 osprey including Mighty Titch with a fish, lots of other lovelies. #ukbirder 0141
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 14/09/2026Very nice day put at Dungeness Very long bird list with lots of goodies. Met some great birding folk and got good guidance on idents. Consequently some of the standouts were Arctic Skuas, velvet scoters and red throated divers. So wonderful to see the swallows off. #UKbirding #Kentbirding 110
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Critical reflection alone is like painting only in red — and then judging people by how well they paint in red. When we add compassionate, appreciative and creative reflection - we get the whole palette. More ways of seeing, understanding and imagining what could be different. 031
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Final paddle & snooze at Uisken. Filled with folks enjoying the sun & warm. Walk to the fossil leaves. Dramatic landscape, found the gully, not the leaves. Always good to have something for next time. Now I know the way. Wish farmers would not put rusty barbed wire on gate posts. #Mull #IsleOfMull 021
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 27/08/2026A stunning day best weather ever. A walk along the Pottie path followed by a paddle. Ravens, one who came to tell me to stop singing, standing stone, far distant white tail, lapwing, greylags, and many more. Seal came close responding to my voice by being a little brave. #isleofmull #Mull #UKbirds 030
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Lovely afternoon at Ardalaneish. Golden eagles over the headland when we arrived. The wind dropped and sun came out. Birds a swallows started to come out. Beautiful colours and of course geology. #Mull #IsleofMull 040
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 25/08/2026Great weather again today. Walk to St Colomba's Bay on #Iona , met some fun people, dolphins in the sound with the #Iolaire as we walked back to the car. 010
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Absolutely stunning Knockvoligan day. Just a quick note to those arriving to the beach by boat when there is only 1 group of people there - it's a big beach with spots for your barbecue that are not 20 yards north of the only other people on the beach in a southerly. #Mull #IsleofMull 120
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Lovely trip to Lochbuie. Lunch at the old post office while watching two otters hunt, eat, groom and play. Golden eagles flying over. Walk to Laggan Sands and then the stone circle. #Mull #IsleofMull 021
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Beautiful today. Watched a buzzard try to take on a white tailed eagle this morning very close to us. Spinning through the sky talons out. Very absorbing so no photos. Sunshine at Uisken. People having fun. 110
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Stunning dry day on Knockvoligan with northerly winds a bit too much for paddle boarding. Very beautiful light here. #Mull #IsleofMull 011
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 19/08/2026All the greys at sunset tonight. Greys in the sky and some greylag geese come to spend the night in the bay. 021
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Mostly stayed in today. Did get out for a couple of short walks. Being a softy from the south who hasn't walked in rain for a bit I enjoyed the rain. And the sight of a full reservoir. All the more so as there are a few dry beach days forecast. #IsleOfMull #Mull 021
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Morning paddle. Going to windier the next few days so may be the last for a few days. Gentle easterlies this morning. Not much wildlife bey9nd the usial which is all a resfresh8ng change from daily life down south. Seals, herons, oyster catchers, gulls, wagtail, cormorants. 040
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Metre for metre the walk between Ardalaneish beach car park and the shore must be one of the most bird dense routes I walk in the year. #UKBirds #scotbird 140
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 16/08/2026First paddle. Swallows, curlew, ginormous seal, dolphins (not super close). 130
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Arrived at Kintra. Some swallows, rock pipets and wheatear. Feels fresh and cool. Porpoise sighted on the ferry crossing. 020
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 10/08/2026Small blessing and life goal found on Preston Road in this bizarre summer. #ukbirds 081
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Another successful nightjar walk. Sticking to public paths. Lots of wing claos. Not sure if thats because I wore a fair but of white. #ukbirds 110
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 27/07/2026I was really lucky this morning, on my day off,to play footie in the park with a child on his holidays and enjoy a beautiful new butterfly house. Everyone around the world should get to enjoy a local park on their day off and to help children play. These are necessities and life's simple pleasures. 110
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Not long until the holiday now. Plenty of this kind of thing... 000
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 24/07/2026It is so beautiful. Travelling companions were cynical about it. We drive past every year I said let's give it ago. To their credit they were smitten and apologised for their random cynicism. 000
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Embroidered some blank napkins. Some Sussex birds. #UKBirds seabirds next maybe. 130
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 22/07/2026Absolutely beautiful morning. Calm before a stormy late summer and autumn no doubt. My green cave.... 010
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Went to a fantastic Vrel exhibition at the Maritshaus. 2023. Usuual impeccable curation 120
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Something I love in the summer and could never get too much of....red geraniums. Lap them up from now until the first frosts. 000
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Saw what I think was a hobby family near the Bopeep bostal today. Harvest time means lots of birds around. Invigorating circular walk. I need more of these long warm breezy evenings in my life. 020
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 11/07/2026Its not like nobody told him.. 7 million people told him, worldwide in 2017. 010
MountainBec @mountainbec.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Several hares on my walk tonight about 5 males and 2 females. Nice sunset. It's a fairly secure location but obviously I won't say where. I dont have a fancy camera. 010
