mg @morng.bsky.social · 04/10/2026LLM generated Javascript vs LLM generated Elixir in the same file from the same prompt and model. One looks fine, one looks like the slopiest slop south of Sloptown. #ElixirLang 050
mg @morng.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Newest version of 18XXc as a new feature. It is now possible to directly input the route value instead of composing it from the stops and bonuses. It takes advantage of the fact that route totals are always a multiple of 10, so it automatically multiplies the input by 10. #18xx 100

mg @morng.bsky.social · 05/01/2026Claude Code is an excellent teacher. I thought I had a problem with my Ash validations (argument not allowed to be null, but the resource was created when missing) but turned out to be a known and defined behaviour with Ash.Geneartors The more you know, and the sooner you know it. #ElixirLang 100
mg @morng.bsky.social · 04/01/2026Claude Code generates #ElixirLang and Ash code like a champ, and it uses Tidewave MCP search the docs and to test all validations and changes and whatever else I ask it to build. I feel Ash/Elixir are designed to encourage building bottom up, piece by piece, and Claude is very efficient for that. 1142
mg @morng.bsky.social · 25/12/2025TreeSitter and LSP functionality is not very good with Phoenix CoLocated hooks. Is there some way to use src to refer to a js or ts file that is colocated with the LiveView heex file? #ElixirLang 070
mg @morng.bsky.social · 15/12/202518XXc v3.18 is out. Adds support for 18Korea, and fixes some issues with result sharing. #18xx 010
mg @morng.bsky.social · 10/12/2025Played a game of 18SJ. The incremental phase slows the game down IMO but we could probably push the trains faster. 3 companies got nationalized, 1 by design and 2 by accident. The yellow is helpful but maybe it guides the map to a similar shape every game? #18xx 000
mg @morng.bsky.social · 20/08/2025Played 18Texas. A bad 18xx is still way better than most other board games; and it was a pleasant experience enough. But this is one toothless game. A friend called it a baby game. Apt. No opportunities for attacks anytime during. Very soft, very safe. #18xx 051

mg @morng.bsky.social · 20/07/2025This is such a f*** you behaviour from YouTube. How about "getting" that what I want is to never see shorts instead of this passive aggressive "we dont care what you want we will still show them to you". mg @morng.bsky.social · 19/07/2025Now that 18XXc is back on both platforms, I am getting BankBuilder back into shape. Its been 18 months since last build; but since it was already built with null safety; the #flutter part was quick: Update packages and replace one, done. iOS worked but Android has predictable gradle problems. 120
mg @morng.bsky.social · 09/07/202518MEX is always good. A simple 1830-lite with moderate chrome. My game consisted of starting the CHI, dumping it early to bankroll the MEX, and then start the PAC late just to fund a D into the MEX. #18xx 010
mg @morng.bsky.social · 28/06/2025Refamiliarizing myself with the 18XXc codebase. Of the three calculators, the Result calculator is the most complex. But the Custom Game Editor is even bigger. And I am not sure anyone has ever used that thing. #18xx #flutter 110
mg @morng.bsky.social · 27/06/2025A few years ago Google made null safety a requirement for Flutter/Dart apps. mg @morng.bsky.social · 14/06/2025There was great drama when I was left at the end of SR5 with 3 companies: all of witch had stockholders over 10%; and the priority deal. Subsequently 2 of those companies got robbed, dumped, and then burned when the 6s and Ds where rushed out. Good fun #18xx 110
mg @morng.bsky.social · 03/04/2025Played 2nd game of 1822 MRS. Not liking the pressure that comes from minors rusting the Ls and 2s. So much rushing in a RunGoodCompany game. mg @morng.bsky.social · 22/03/2025Building this to have a clearer idea on how errors and success signals propagate across processes; e.g. when :exit becomes :EXIT becomes :DOWN, etc. Not sure I have the complete picture, there is a lot of nuance to how this works. #ElixirLang 130
mg @morng.bsky.social · 20/03/2025Played 1822 (MRS) for the first time. Got bitten hard by the loan mechanic early in the game and never recovered. But the game was a hit with the group; people found the 22 system very interesting and all are eager to explore it further. #18xx 230
mg @morng.bsky.social · 12/03/2025Played a game of 18Cheasepeake - Off the Rails tonight. All in all good fun. #18xx 020
mg @morng.bsky.social · 09/03/2025OTP has plenty powerful tools to build complex things, but complex things remain still incredibly COMPLEX things, even with great tools.
