Enjoying my coffee while proofreading/copyediting an upcoming sapphic release, with artwork by my kid and bro in the background. Anyone wanna see if they can peep the sapphic (save for one) books on the shelves? 🌈📚

I decided to check out a new local bookstore, The Whispering Page, for their grand opening today. I found my friend @nitasweeney.com’s latest book, Memorial, on the Ohio Authors shelves!

Half a lifetime ago I lived in a fabulous apartment with my then-girlfriend and another couple. He…well, he could be an ass, but she was an artist. I was going through some things and came across this piece of hers. Me, doing what I’ve always done: getting lost, or perhaps found, in a book. 🌈📚

Happy release day to Alexandra Ammon Parthun! It’s always fun to go to an event, support a local author, pick up a new sapphic story, and get a cool cookie to boot. Looking forward to reading this one! 🌈📚

Look familiar? Yup, I have the same versions of When Death Blooms, and the audiobook is out today! I love G.E. Masters, and Ellie Gossage did an even better job narrating this one, if that’s even possible. Check this one out, but it’s not a standalone: you MUST finish When Flowers Wilt first! 🌈📚

When you love a book so much you have it in almost every format, including a special edition and a tiny decorative one. The audiobook of When Flowers Wilt by G.E. Masters released this week, and Ellie Gossage did a fabulous job narrating. The audio for book 2 in the duology releases next week! 🌈📚

This has been a crap week. I’m recovering from gum graft surgery, broke my Kindle streak of 700+ days, and thought the manuscript I was proofreading was autosaving to the cloud, so when my app crashed I lost hours of work. But today I had dinner with my book club friends and saw a rainbow, so…win?

Spent all day at the Columbus Book Festival and the evening with my teenager, now I’m chilling with this guy. He loves to keep me company while I’m proofreading. ❤️🐈‍⬛🌈📚

It’s Columbus Book Festival time! I went through my shelves and I think I’m ready for tomorrow. These are all sapphic books by featured authors (and one moderator), and I’ll be bringing almost all of them with me (two are already signed, so those will be staying home). Who else will be there? 🌈📚

Book mail two days in a row?! Yes please and thank you very much. Today it was the special editions of the Bloom Town duology by Ally North. They’re so pretty! 🌈📚

All the cool mail came today! Apparently I was SO EXCITED to read about sentient moss I accidentally preordered not one but two copies of Rebecca’s new book. Oops! (Giving the dupe to my sib, also a big fan.) I also got some fun stuff from G (with strategically placed sticker—IYKYK), and Wren. 🌈📚

It’s Pride weekend here in Central Ohio! I know a lot of people roll their eyes at Ohio, but listen: Columbus has the second-largest Pride in the Midwest, and it’s a three-day party. To celebrate, here are some LGBTQIA+ books from Ohio authors—and I may have more I’m not aware of. Happy reading!

It’s release day for Run to You by @alysonrootauthor.bsky.social, so I thought I’d see what I have of hers on my shelf. I’m actually a bit shocked that I only own hardcopies of 5. She’s up to 20 books if my count is right, and I think there are only two I haven’t had my hands on in some way! 🌈📚

Forgive me, I’ve know been MIA, but I can’t let the start of pride month go by without a little celebration! I don’t have the bandwidth to share a book a day like I did last June, but I thought it might be fun to share some of the books on my shelves. Here are some new ones I got on Saturday! 🌈📚

I was pretty MIA in February, but I was still here and still reading. Here are some stats, and now I’m going to bed. 🌈📚

Another month, another round up. A damn good start to the year if I do say so myself. 95% of what I read was #sapphfic fiction, and everything was queer despite the bar graph; two were missing the tag but are most definitely in the genre. 🌈📚

Okay look. I’ve never been on a cruise, but I’ve always wanted to go on an Alaskan one. An Olivia Travel Alaskan cruise with sapphic authors? Including VIRGINA BLACK?! Ugh, money…but…I’m seriously considering it. I just need to convince my sister to come along and be my bunkmate. Anyone going?

It’s a snow day here in Ohio so I’m working from home. KitKat is giving me the cold shoulder, wondering why I have this contraption on my lap preventing him from snuggling instead of my Kindle in my hand. Me too, dude. Me too.

I met up with a couple of friends at Prologue Bookshop last night. I had my hands on at least half a dozen books at various points, but walked out with poetry from @emilyraustin.bsky.social (whom I can never get enough of), and #sapphfic GN Motherlover, which I read when it was serialized online. 🌈📚

Day 31: favorite #sapphfic starting over. Ranita, paroled after 4 years for possession, leaves a lover behind, but her kids are waiting; she's determined to stay sober and get them back. Pomegranate by Helen Elaine Lee is a fierce, complex story of addiction, marginalization and incarceration. 🌈📚

It's almost the new year, and that means it's almost time for new reading challenges! @iheartsapphfic.bsky.social announced their 2026 challenge today, and they're changing it up. This year, instead of focusing on tropes, it's all about showing that we sapphics are everywhere. 🌈📚

Day 30: favorite #sapphfic ARC. I went back and forth on this. I had a lot of ARCs this year, and there were quite a few I loved. Some were out because they (or the author) won another category, but it was stiff competition. Ultimately I settled on The Lone Wolf Cafe by Sydney Wilder as my fave. 🌈📚

Day 29: favorite genre-defying #sapphfic novel. I’ve seen Metal from Heaven by August Clarke described many different ways. Eco-fantasy, political fantasy, speculative, feral industrial punk rock. It's all of those, and yet none. The closest thing to how it made me feel is Chain-Gang All-Stars. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 29/12/2025
Day 28: favorite #sapphfic fantasy. The Timeless Legion, book 2 in the Everlands Cycle by @jcrycroft.bsky.social, has dragons, intrigue, betrayal and spice (yes there's a variety of spice; the MC is bi, that doesn't mean it's not sapphic). Go check it out while I not-so-patiently wait for book 3. 🌈📚

Day 27: favorite #sapphfic friends to lovers. Might as Well Be an Ocean by Kellan McKnight is a messy single-POV story exploring childhood trauma, neurodivergence, the struggle with self worth and the importance of found family. It is quite spicy, but delivers on emotional intimacy as well. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 27/12/2025
Day 26: favorite #sapphfic gothic fiction. Natasha Siegel delivers a powerfully dark and toxic Faustian bargain between demon and witch in As Many Souls as Stars. It's infused with obsessive love and longing, and oh, the loneliness and hunger that drove both was exquisitely and beautifully raw. 🌈📚

Day 25: favorite #sapphfic holiday romance. Real-life spouses @margueritegrimaud.bsky.social and @judeinthestars.bsky.social wrote a beautiful love story in The Milkyway Hotel. It's dual-POV, with each author writing one, then Jude translated both into the other. Be warned: you might get hungry. 🌈📚

Day 24: favorite #sapphfic audiobook. There were some tough competitors here, but in the end @natalienaudus.bsky.social and her narration of The Keeper of Magical Things by @julieleong.bsky.social won out. I loved the story and the characters, and the narration brought it to life. 🌈📚

Day 23: favorite #sapphfic vampires. Spanning three very different time periods and following three very different women, Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab is visceral and compelling, full of hunger and rage, and it's absolutely gorgeous. The audiobook is equally delicious. 🌈📚

Day 22: favorite #sapphfic ice queen. I love @leewinteroz.bsky.social and her ice queens, so it's no surprise that Hotel Queens was this year's favorite overall. I loved both Amelia (Lia for short) and her fiery counterpart Kai, but Kai's assistant Milly might have been my favorite character. 🌈📚

Day 21: favorite #sapphfic literary fiction. The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden intertwines mystery, intrigue, desire, obsession, and psychological suspense in a sensual, captivating story. It explores some of the darker sides of humanity and our legacies, and I couldn't look away. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 21/12/2025
Day 20: favorite #sapphfic age gap. Full disclosure, I worked on this one for @alysonrootauthor.bsky.social so I may be a bit biased (although age gap is NOT my fave), but I loved Welcome to Ero-TEA-Ca. It's fun (and funny), sexy, and I adore Harriet and Cass. And the found family? Beautiful. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 20/12/2025
Day 19: favorite #sapphfic single parent romance. @rubylanders.bsky.social had one of my top books last year (Ribbonwood), and she's back with Falls From Grace. I loved Savannah's bond with her son, it was so heartwarming and tender. And the pining? Oof. Oh, also? Quinn Riley narrates the audio. 🌈📚

Day 18: favorite #sapphfic novella. I'm a big fan of @amalelmohtar.com, and I had the opportunity to listen to her speak about The River Has Roots back in July, which only made me love it even more. It's a gorgeous, lyrical, magic-filled fairytale with sisterhood at its heart. 🌈📚

Day 17: favorite #sapphfic dual-timeline novel. Palm Meridian by Grace Flahive is bold, vibrant, unabashedly queer, filled with found family, and deeply moving. I was bawling at the end, but damn it was worth it. May I be as full of love and life when I'm in my 70s as the people of Palm Meridian. 🌈📚

Day 16: favorite #sapphfic debut. Bloom Town: Genesis by Ally North is a wild ride. Spanning the 1850s US, it's an epic masterpiece—and this is just part 1. Fab characters, knock-your-socks-off spice, an engaging story, plus Quinn Riley narrates the audiobook, which makes any book a must listen. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 16/12/2025
Day 15: favorite #sapphfic in space. Tethered by T. J. Williams is an interplanetary adventure with a slice-of-life feel, following a single mom who would do anything for her son and a lesbian starship captain with walls as high as Everest. And the side characters that feel like family? Swoon. 🌈📚
061
Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 15/12/2025
Day 14: favorite #sapphfic series. The Girl Games trilogy by @rubyroeauthor.bsky.social was my favorite series this year—although to be honest I love the whole universe, including Kingdom of Immortal Lovers. I think Romance and Ruin might be my individual fave, but Hearts and Heists is close. 🌈📚
052
Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 14/12/2025
Day 13: favorite #sapphfic speculative fiction. Some might not consider The Measure by Nikki Erlick sapphic, but with a lesbian couple central to the story it is to me. This is not a romance; it’s a complex look at fate, choice, and societal pressure that’s moving and thought provoking. 🌈📚
031
Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 13/12/2025
Day 12: favorite #sapphfic small-town romance. Third in a series about sisters and set in Peach Blossom, The Secret Crush Book Club by @authorkarmenlee.bsky.social was the one I was looking forward to the most. Single mom meets sexy librarian and they hit if off? Yes please and thank you, Ma'am. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 12/12/2025
Day 11: favorite #sapphfic opposites attract romance. There are so many great things about The View from the Top by @rachelslacey.bsky.social: found family, mental health rep, a wide variety of LGBTQ+ rep, and sexy as hell. I mean, how can you go wrong? Okay, someone could, but Rachel nails it. 🌈📚

Day 10 (FR this time): favorite #sapphfic romance with older MCs. Discovering Nicola is third in a series by @clareashton.bsky.social, and I loved how it pulled it all together. Yes I'm closer in age to them than their daughters, whose romances are the first two books, but this one got me. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 10/12/2025
Day 10: favorite #sapphfic dark romance. Let the Mask Fall by @gemasterswrites.bsky.social has all the things I want in a dark romance, but with a weirdly sweet side. Two fabulously unhinged characters with chemistry to die for, a twisty murder mystery, and veeeery spicy with a side of k1nk. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 09/12/2025
Day 8: favorite #sapphfic witchy novel. The Once and Future Witches by @alixeharrow.bsky.social is a suffragette tale revolving around three estranged sisters who lean into each other to take back their power. The writing is gorgeous, the characters were wonderful. Highly recommend. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 08/12/2025
Day 7: favorite book from my most-read #sapphfic author. At 14, @jaeauthor.bsky.social eked out a one-book win as the author whose work I read the most in 2025. I narrowed those down to three, then debated with myself about which one to pick, and ultimately settled on Conflict of Interest. 🌈 📚

Day 6: favorite #sapphfic cozy romantasy. I love the whole Tomes & Tea series, and @rebeccathorne.bsky.social brought it to a fabulous conclusion with Alchemy and a Cup of Tea. It’s witty and punny and full of love. I’m just as enamored with Jessica Threet and her narration of the audiobooks. 🌈📚

Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 06/12/2025
Day 5: favorite #sapphfic historical fiction. Sometimes a book comes out and you’re not sure how you’re going to feel about it, and Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid was one of those books for me. I’m glad I went for it, because it lives up to the hype (even if I did cry through the last 10%). 🌈📚
362
Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 05/12/2025
Day 4: favorite #sapphfic YA. Fable for the End of the World by Ava Reid is YA, but don’t let that fool you. It’s heavy dystopian, and you won’t get an HEA. What you will find is a weighty story that won’t let you look away, and the possibility that maybe, just maybe, there’s a glimmer of hope. 🌈📚
131
Morgan @morganbee.bsky.social · 04/12/2025
Day 3: favorite #sapphfic murder mystery. The Last Soul Among Wolves is second in what I hope will be longer series from @melissacaruso.bsky.social. It’s interesting, fast-paced, and I love the worldbuilding and characters. And the audiobook? Fab. I mean it’s Moira Quirk, how could it not be? 🌈📚
