I had a job a while that also told me not to clock in, they're trying to steal your wages, at least that's what happened with me. I had to threaten to take them to court for them to acknowledge I was working when they told me not to clock in.

The last darksouls released over a decade ago. And elden ring HAS YELLOW ARROWS THAT POINT TO WHERE YOU NEED TO GO. Darksouls would flop if released today. That is the unfortunate truth.

The scale of modern AAA games means they simply cannot take risks if they want to make a profit, even then there's a pretty high chance they fail. It's why the indie scene is so much healthier than the AAA space. the budgets have become so bloated that nothing but slop can survive. Just play indie.

Yes, it has. Original and intelligent games continue to fall through the cracks while thoughtless slop in the AAA space makes a gazillion dollars. That is unfortunately the industry as it currently exists. It's why I haven't been excited for a AAA game in half a decade.

The number of people bothered by the arrows is vastly outnumber by the people who either don't care or want said arrows to guide them. I get what you mean, I also prefer games that respect your intelligence. But the market has shown that games like that don't perform well.

When your game has a multimillion dollar cost of production you've got to appeal to the lowest common denominator if you want to make your money back. I'm not saying it's a good thing or that it's healthy for the industry as a whole, but that's unfortunately the reality of the AAA gaming space.

The thing is, it's unfortunately needed in these games now a days. The average player has the sense of direction of a rock and will wander aimlessly and get bored if there isn't a big fucking arrow pointing where they need to go. Subtlety and spatial awareness are dead.
