How much faster would GO trains be if they used electrical multiple unit (EMU) trains? Today, a 33.7km trip from Pickering to Union station makes 6 stops and takes 45 minutes Our proposed local EMU service would make 13 stops, and take only 36 minutes.

Communities across Canada have already demonstrated that affordable youth transit is possible. We’re calling for an affordable youth fare for students aged 13–18, including a discounted monthly or annual pass that makes regular transit use accessible for high school students.

The GO parking lots offer a huge opportunity to turn GO station areas into some of the best parts of our region. The TOC program should take inspiration from other developments in the region which are creating a much more vibrant mixed use and pedestrianized spaces. 6/6
010
More Transit Southern Ontario @moretransitso.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
The development doesn't seem to be planned to have good integration with future phases, which are closer to the station and should be almost entirely car free and feature public plazas and ample retail. Future pedestrian connections should be prioritized. 5/6
120
More Transit Southern Ontario @moretransitso.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
The current proposal is too car oriented, with large amounts of space between buildings being taken up by massive roundabouts for loading access. These spaces should be moved away from the station and a more pedestrianized area should be part of this development. 4/6
110
More Transit Southern Ontario @moretransitso.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
The current proposal does not have enough retail or employment spaces, in addition most of the ground floor of the buildings are set aside for back of house spaces and amenities that could be moved elsewhere. These spaces should prioritize retail and employment. 3/6

This cost of this segment of the Ontario Line is so bad it makes the downtown Ontario Line segment look like good value. The downtown segment contract is valued at $6 billion for 6km of tunnel and 7, more complex stations, through the densest part of Canada.
