I think a deepeye really could suit her. It's small and they start weak, but if they're formed around an eye with great magical potential, they can get quite powerful! Plus they're small just like a lalafell. Teleporting in puffs of feathers and inflicting ailments with the big glowy eye is fun

The second section is as follows:

Deepeye Enshroud

Design: Her face morphs into a massive glowing eye. Her ears and twintails become two big tufts of feathers, and all her clothing becomes a dark feather gown. Her feet become little bird talon feet.
Fighting Style: Slow and powerful using magic and heavy scythe strikes. Her magical eye can be used for both attacks and to cause paralysis or petrification. When her opponent is held still, she'll line up strong, decisive strikes. When hurt, she'll teleport in tufts of feathers.
Dunesfolk Eye: I still think a dunesfolk eye could still work for this enshroud but in this level of detail, it doesn't read as much like an eye.

A doodle is to the left of the above text depicting the changes described in the above design section. To the right, a deepeye is shown: A small bird-like creature with a single massive red eye in the center of its head and no other features. It has two tiny little bird legs and an otherwise big feathery and fluffy body.

Mimic Enshroud! Tagged graphic for body horror elements; this lalafell has too many mouths! If you don't mind that, I think it's really stylish and thematically cohesive! A lot more feral and frantic combat-wise. I really like the tongue "tie" and its tongue-ring "clasp" and all the gold "treasure"

The third section is as follows:

Mimic Enshroud

Design: Her hair and eyes turn red while her teeth sharpen. Her twintails become mawhile-style mouths capable of attacking at most angles around her. Her clothing becomes a living maw, complete with teeth and tongues. One such tongue forms her "tie" and is wrapped around her neck and "clasped" to itself with a golden tongue ring. Her hands split open and grow fangs, one up splitting up her palm and arm, the other with a hole in the palm like a leecch. She gains a lot of gold jewelry and one lens of her glasses becomes opaque gold to represent the coins/wealth a mimic tempts with.

Fighting Style: bites you bites you bites you bites you bites you
Fast, feral, and a direct hit from her is pretty hard hitting. Glancing blows are weak, only causing shallow lacerations or light bludgeoning. Getting grabbed by a maw means you're about to get hit with a tankbuster chomp. Low defense, but her bites have lifesteal.

Two Enshroud design wips from stream for an Ahriman and a Page 64, respectively! The Ahriman one is coming along pretty well, I think! Some kind of harrier imp. The Page one has some promise but I think still needs some more refinement. Maybe forgoes the scythe and uses paper familiars?

Adelaide is essentially an independent gleaner (no relation to Sharlayan, but similar idea). She does ruin delves in search of history or seeks out rare texts/creatures/spells for clients. Her earnings fund own research/book collection and she'll take payment in rare books if she can afford to.

I've wanted to make some different potential Enshroud forms for my #lalafell Adelaide when she's on Reaper! But to do that, I had to start with when she's not Enshrouded. (reposting these as separate posts in a thread so that only the body horror one needs an extra click)

Enshroud Design Concepts for Adelaide Adelier
My lalafell goes through her edgelord/chuuni arc in her mid/late 20s, Stars in StB, gets full force in ShB and EW, then she chills the heck out again in DT.

All of her knowledge from being a nerd/mage in ARR/HW combines with being a WoL to make her smug, confident, cocky, and rude. Unfortunately for those around her, she's often the only/best person to handle threats and she knows it too.

Still heroic, but in a "I'm doing it because no one else can" sort of way.

Base outfit inspired by: Classical War Scythe, Mythril Spectacles, High Allagan Earrings of Fending, Pantheon Corselet of Maiming, Southern Seas Skirt, Ravel Keeper's Sandals of Aiming, and Optional bunny ears for when she's being extra smarmy or to add some whimsy.

I'm actively in the middle of doing it this ffxivwrite! Up through StB, I originally pictured Adelaide as "a WoL" (and a weaker one at that) not "The WoL", but in later expacs I felt that had to shift due to MSQ. So, I'm rewriting her ARR self to start in the same place, but become more heroic!
