Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 27/07/2025Every market is a gamble with my health and the health of my family. And every event that doesn’t require masks is not truly accessible. Masking is community care. Mask the fuck up. (2/2) 010
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 27/07/2025Covid is surging yet again in LA county and it’s still market season. As the sole person behind my shop I am begging y’all to be serious about masking. Covid is disabling. It also further harms disabled, high risk, and immunocompromised folks. (1/2) 110

Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 19/05/20253) watching folks in the know introduce their friends to haw flakes with joy and nostalgia is joyous 4) Folks stopping by my booth to show me photos of my artwork in their home. 🥹😭 5) folks wearing masks, picking up masks, complimenting me on my mask. 😷 We love a mask at Moonymade. 100
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 19/05/2025Another weekend, another market recap while it’s fresh in my mind: 1) Bringing dog treats to dog friendly events is now a must. What a delight to meet cute pups all day! 2) I need a sign for the free candy at my booth. People kept thinking that I’m selling haw flakes. 😂 110
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 05/05/202512) Meeting SO many Chicago transplants and just talking about Chicago, their moves, things we all miss, neighborhoods that still feel like home to us ❤️❤️ 010
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 05/05/202510) Meeting folks who’ve been following me online for a while 11) People getting genuinely excited to sign up for my newsletter. Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 05/05/20257) Getting to connect with rad makers and artists with shared values 8) Folks getting excited about the little solidarity station at my booth and calling their friends over to snag free masks and stickers. 9) Dancing to amazing AANHPI music all weekend long while at my booth 100
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 05/05/20254) Connecting with anti-imperial, anti-colonial AANHPI folks ❤️🔥 That part NEVER gets old. Never. 5) Folks wanting to pay the full amount for mutual aid fundraiser stickers. 6) Folks asking for transparency about mutual aid distributions! I’m also happy to answer—grifting is disgusting. 110
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 05/05/20253) Kids really love the “book bans are dog shit” sticker with an illustration of my dog pooping. Must make a word-free version for the kiddos because everyone deserves to laugh at my clown of a dog. 4) Folks of all ages getting excited about my bookmarks because they love reading (especially kids) 100
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 05/05/2025Recapping this weekend’s market while it’s fresh in my mind. Some highlights in no particular order: 1) Masks offered and highly encouraged. 2) Had some cute dogs visit my booth. Should remember to bring dog treats to any dog friendly event. 120
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 12/03/2025Not all artists and small businesses are invested in collective liberation. So when shopping small and local, make sure you’re doing it with folks and businesses who *are* invested in building a better future for all of us and are trying to move differently. 010
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 12/03/2025If you want to support artists who are committed to collective liberation & community, join their email lists, follow them outside of meta/Twitter, share their work on-/offline. These things make a huge difference as principled artists navigate censorship and events with lack of covid precautions. 010
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 12/03/2025There’s so much I love about in person markets, but this disregard for health and safety taxing. Please, I beg, wear a mask. It’s literally the least we can all do. 010
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 12/03/2025And to be clear, this is a risk many non-disabled makers take. Not having any Covid precautions or masks required makes market inaccessible for disabled makers and customers and nyone who is a caretaker or sharing space with high risk people. 010
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 12/03/2025If these markets are going to use the word “community” in every other sentence, then they should take precautions to protect their communities. Otherwise stop abusing that word. 000
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 12/03/2025If an artist or maker gets long covid, which isn’t like, out of the realm of possibility, they’re fucked. It’s usually just a one person show. Every market is a gamble with their health—on top of the measles resurgence and avian flu. 010
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 12/03/2025It’s market season for small biz/artists. Almost every market I look at does not have masks required or any covid precautions in place. I’m always masked and I bring free n95 masks for customers. I am always masked. I’m doing what I can. But god, I wish organizers were doing something…anything. 630

Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 11/02/2025Some ways I deal with overwhelm (as empire crumbles): garden, play with my dog, shake my body…and most recently, play a mobile game where the whole point is just to sort objects together lol. That little hit of dopamine I get when everything is sorted is *chef’s kiss*. How’s everyone else dealing? 🥲 020
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 10/02/2025Overhearing that comment made me want to throw my dog’s full poop bag at the person who said it (I didn’t). But my god, when will it be enough? 010
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 10/02/2025It’s *always* the most resourced who live in constant fear of scarcity; they never have enough for themselves. Definitely don’t have enough to share with others. Whereas it’s always the least resourced and multiply marginalized people who participate in mutual aid. 100
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 10/02/2025Overheard while walking my dog in an upper middle class neighborhood (where I only go to take poop bags lol): “I went to the grocery store to buy eggs. I bought 4 dozen. I don’t really need them, but it feels like we have to stock up like we did with toilet paper.” 🧵 100
Moonymade @moonymade.bsky.social · 05/02/2025(3/3) - people telling me they don’t need a bag because they want to wear their bandanas immediately - people passing on discounts and paying cash because they want to support 😭 Markets drain my social and physical batteries, but these moments of connection are EVERYTHING to me.
