HADES II "Whaaat?" you say. "Hades II isn't a magic school, you silly idiot baby." ACTUALLY, the main character, Melinoe, is in a magic school of ONE. She's taught the ways of magic by her mentor, Hecate. That's just homeschooling! It's still a kind of school!

The masked goddess Hecate extends a clawed hand to cast a spell. She is clothed in black, purple, and a witchy, ethereal green, and wears a wide-brimmed pointed cap with a large moonstone in the centre.

Also, she has a six pack. For magic reasons.

MAGICIAN'S QUEST: MYSTERIOUS TIMES To be honest, I know nothing about this game. I do not own this game. But look at it! It's magical Animal Crossing! You can apparently date people in it! Is it good? I don't know!

SKYRIM Sure, Skyrim is a game about, uh, dragons... and... horses... and being sworn to carry your burdens... but it's also got the College of Winterhold, where all the mages (including you!) learn magey stuff. It's also on a big pillar that's hard to get to, because wizards hate people.

The College of Winterhold is a stout, squat, Norman-castle-like building. Big old stone square, with shoulders like an 80s power suit, and a tower in the middle, full of old books and older men with beards. A thin stone bridge extends across the chasm and into the doorway.

ELDEN RING Yeah! Elden Ring has a magic school! And YOU can be a wizard. Raya Lucaria is not a CUTE magic school -- it's full of monsters and crabs and stuff -- but crabs that want to kill you are still better than transphobia.

The Academy of Raya Lucaria, a British-cathedral-like building with roughly ten billion spires, rises out of the grey-blue fog on a rainy night, silhouetted against a gigantic full moon because From Software doesn't know how to make a game without a gigantic full moon in it. Also, it's cool.
