the car rental place had someone drive us back to the GO station after we dropped it back off and he was like "you came to HAMILTON for a vacation day? I usually go to Toronto where all the cool stuff is" and we couldn't say "we can see that stuff any day, we live there".

The waterfall we went to see was about a 10 minute walk from the cafe where we had a late lunch, and there was no sidewalk. We walked on a narrow, rocky strip of land alongside a very busy road with roaring traffic at well over 60km/h. Insane. It's right by some houses! No sidewalks!

Huge clouds of dust and smog hung over a series of quarrys and the few walkable streets didn't have any trees, so it was sweltering. No wonder everyone out there drives! They've designed the suburbs to hurt you if you're on foot!!

Arrived in the suburbs, got a rental car for the day, and are fuelling up before we hit our first stop: a recommended apple farm! Supposed to be famous for their apple cider smoothies among other things. Yes I brought a folding wagon with me just in case.

Ads would be way more effective if there were fewer of them but is the only scalable industry left where companies can just keep selling more of them. A lot of digital ad traffic is just bots at this point. The only really effective ones are on mobile where it’s harder to block.
