Dang yall, thanks so much for the support 😭 Usually I ignore the random AI accusations but I wanted to take the chance to talk about how important it is to do your research in times like these. Didn't expect to get soooo many kind comments though! We gotta stick together, my beloved art community ♥️

A Trail Unending / Paved in Solitude #FFXIV #FFXIVART

Two panels depicting Sphene and Queen Sphene parting ways. They are on a busy street in Solution Nine, and countless residents move past them, their regulators turning into streaks of light.

Kala Paint is out! I'm @olawson.bsky.social , professional artist for 15 years, then game dev, now wrote the painting software I wish I'd been using all this time. GPU-run creamy brushes, no subscription, no gen AI crap, hand-coded with ideas from artists in our Discord, and more added weekly!

Thank you to everyone who liked and reposted my Sphene magazine brainworm, I really appreciate it! 💎 Sadly, no more Sphene planned for the near future. However, here's a quick Cornservant as a thank you!

Rough color of Sphene Alexandros in a bunny suit offering some Cornservant, also a Yan Yanning.

Sphene Alexandros XIV for the magazine ENDLESS. The final cover as 2026 summer is coming to an end. Cover 7 of 7 #FFXIV #ART #FFXIVART

Glamour shot of Sphene Alexandros XIV from final fantasy XIV for the magazine Endless. The one drawing that started this brainworm of making various covers, I really hope Sphene its part of the crew from now on, fingers crossed for any reveal in 7.55 or the full Evercold trailer. If it doesn't happen, it is what it is, life keeps moving forward.
** Anyway, please rotate the holographic colors in your head for full effect. **

Sphene for the Magazine LIVING MEMORY, to celebrate Moonfire Faire 2026 Cover 6 of 7 #FFXIV #ART #FFXIVART

Sphene Alexandros from Final Fantasy XIV posing for the summer issue of Living Memory. I almost, almost, trashed this one because I couldn't get a clear picture in my head, once pink got involved things kinda just worked out, cant wait to see more of her in Evercold tho.

Sphene for the Magazine ECHOES, to celebrate Moonfire Faire 2026 Cover 5 of 7 #FFXIV #ART #FFXIVART

Sphene Alexandros XIV from Final Fantasy XIV wearing a gold bikini for the august cover of Echoes. This is my personal favorite, because I had to redo it 2 times since I did not enjoyed the previous sketches, and this final version was done so quickly I'm just shocked it looked good. Anyway, It's gonna be so hype when Sphene shows up in the full Evercold trailer, the world will heal a bit when it happens.

Sphene (ponytail!) for the fictional Magazine MOSAIC, for Moonfire Faire 2026 Cover 4 of 7 #FFXIV #ART #FFXIVART

Sphene from FFXIV posing next to the gay pool in Living Memory for a fictional magazine. She's also in her ponytail form which I fear its way too powerful, which means we are getting this alternate look in 9.0 after she helps us during Evercold.

Sphene posing for the fictional Magazine VANGUARD during Moonfire Faire 2026! cover 3 of 7 #FFXIV #ART #FFXIVART

Sphene Alexandros from FFXIV posing along the pier with a bikini to celebrate the fact that... gonna be real, this is my least favorite for very specific reasons, but I already redre 3 of them and I'm not changing any more. But it's ok, since she's becoming a permanent member of our crew, the ritual its going to pay off.

She was Hayao Miyazaki's "right-hand" collaborator from the '70s onward. Her name was Michiyo Yasuda -- the best color designer in animation. Yasuda's eye for color gave Ghibli's work a totally different look. We explore her methods: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/the-artist...

I’ve know Edwin for actual decades now. We went to college together. We dont talk often & while I know he doesnt use AI at all, I do know hes one of many who’s had his work scraped given his prominence w/ Udon & Capcom Stuff like this illustrates how AI hurts us & our reps in ways beyond just theft.
