Sadly not doing the merry-go-round, but the eclipse watching is still on. This will be the second eclipse for my daughters (last was Germany 1999), and the first for my granddaughter. Mooch is prepared.

Mooch is prepared for the 2026 solar eclipse in two days. Please watch safe everyone and wear protection glasses. Mooch's humans all got to see the August 1999 total solar eclipse. We had a good clear view in Germany, when a slot opened in the clouds just at the right time. #eclipse

It was nice and sunny the past few days, but it's going to be colder this weekend. During Easter Monday there were quite a few tourists in Brighton, on the South Coast of England. But in high summer it will be really full, especially during Fatboy Slim's On The Beach music festival.

Police are investigating the murder of a Christmas tree in the High Street.

Which movie did you love as a kid and still love now? The Day The Earth Caught Fire (1961) I remember Fleet Street in the '60s and the news papers.

Ellie has done her charity abseil and raised 360% of her target. A big gust of wind blew her sideways just as she'd got going and later a lump of chalk from the cliff fell on her helmet, but she completed the abseil!

Another Post Box Topper in Beckenham. This is a nativity scene for Christmas in December 2024. The creator put a notice on it to ask people to stop sheep rustling - it was missing many sheep when I took the photo!

The end of my road does not look as nice as some pictures from @lomelindi12.bsky.social where the road ends in the sea. But the fenced wood, with no access, is a tiny wild remnant of the Great North Wood that used to cover a large area from Croydon to Southwark.

whenever they ask for my name to write it on the cup in Starbucks I say "number 6" and I still have one of the cups. I was once served by a teenage nerd who was a Prisoner fan and we had a good laugh!

On midsummer (22 June), when I visited a small pub, I found out what Father Christmas (Santa Claus) does on that day. He delivers beer kegs down the pub chimney!

After a walk on a cold misty day I like to call into a local coffee shop to warm up, read a chapter from a book, listen to music, eat an almond croissant, drink a cappucino and find out from the TFL app when the bus home will be!
