A tidy home studio workspace with a wooden desk, a large monitor, white bookshelf speakers, a small MIDI keyboard, a microphone, and a black desk lamp. A pastel blue townhouse with white-trimmed windows sits behind a painted wooden gate. The gate features a stylized grayscale cityscape mural with scattered red letters spelling out BRISTOL. A leafy tree partially obscures the right side of the building, and a stone wall borders the left. The scene is lit by low, golden-hour sunlight, casting shadows across the facade and quiet street in front.

Continuums are a useful model when making decisions in complex circumstances. Plus you get to make funny hand gestures when you explain things. 🫲 🫱 We’ve written a blog post about it: measured.co/blog/continu...

The identity manuals and style guides of the late 20th century were a big influence on modern design systems. NASA’s 1976 Graphics Standards Manual is a great exmple — covering everything from letterheads to spacecraft insignia. Just for fun, we looked back to see what still holds up today…
Why the NASA Graphics Standards Manual of 1976 is still relevant today.
