New small relief print from @monicatrinidad.bsky.social ! May our daily choices, actions, and commitments continue to pollinate just futures for all who demand it. 🦋🐝🌸 justseeds.org/product/poll...
Inspired by the historic groundbreaking ceremony of the Chicago Torture Justice Memorial, proceeds from this limited edition print supports future community engagement, programming, and mutual aid projects at the memorial site.

Organizing, largely led by the survivors and their family members, made this happen. This permanent public memorial honoring survivors of police torture is the first of its kind in the U.S. It was also the final, unfulfilled promise of the Reparations Ordinance that Chicago’s City Council passed in 2015—which was also the first time survivors of racially-motivated police torture have been given reparations under international law. This memorial doesn’t undo the harm that was done, but it creates a critical space to collectively remember, heal, and learn. Oppression also thrives on forgetting—so the work doesn’t end once the memorial is constructed.

New postcard from Monica Trinidad! justseeds.org/product/quee...
Emory Douglas often spoke about art’s critical role in creating a visual mythology of power for people who feel powerless. I believe he’s talking about how the stories we tell shape the world we live in, or how we disrupt and capture dominant narratives through cultural change, or even just simply how art can make us feel seen and valued amidst injustice and dehumanization.

But I believe that there is nothing mythical about our world running on queer and trans magic. It’s so deeply factual! Thinking a lot about this lately as a queer woman deeply in love with my trans partner, and my trans friends, and especially on Trans Day of Visibility. To be queer and trans is to emit brilliance and creativity; to summon audacity and authenticity; to conjure spells of safety and community care networks; to invoke protection and new world building.

We will never allow that magic to be silenced or dimmed. In fact, it’s only growing stronger and more potent.

New postcard design from Monica Trinidad with a quote from @mskellymhayes.bsky.social ! Details in alt text, pick one up here: justseeds.org/product/we-m...
This piece was inspired by the powerful words of Indigenous writer and organizer Kelly Hayes in her newsletter, Organizing My Thoughts. I recommend following her and subscribing if you’re not already.

With so much distraction and real harm coming our way under this administration on a daily basis, we have to remember that we also have a daily choice in the kind of person we want to become, not only in this moment, but for the long haul. It’s an ongoing practice, not a one-time event. And whether you’re an artist or not, our everyday practices are creative practices. Having a radical imagination means we don’t accept what’s in front of us. We can be rebellious. We must be, actually.

…when my big mobile zine library box has to be used for merch, I break out its little sibling display. Find the zines themselves (and many others, and a new one coming soon) at guante.info/zines
a small purple toolbox featuring three free zines: “for artists and other creative troublemakers,” “hope does not glimmer; it burns” and “of what future are these the wild, early days”

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

plugging this by @monicatrinidad.bsky.social watched yesterday and it motivated me to get my frustration out on paper. good reminder that everything needs practice, including art for social change! which i tend to be more hesitant to make because of fear i'll fumble it, but that's how you learn
