momatoes @momatoes.com · 03/10/2026My partner is trying to get me to play Trench Crusade, a wargame with minis, but can I just say the reason I'm drawn into it is because of that delicious LAYOUT pictured: screenshots of the book interior 2211

momatoes @momatoes.com · 15/08/2026Finished (finally!) watching The Fall (2006), and wow, what a visual treat. I love how it pays homage to the power of storytelling and moviemaking. 3383
momatoes @momatoes.com · 02/08/2026There's two copies of The Magus left at the GenCon IPR @ipr.bsky.social booth. Who's handsome and cool enough to sweep it all up?? 0134
momatoes @momatoes.com · 26/06/2026We went to an animal sanctuary to practice pet photography, and I felt healed from the presence of joyful dogs. I really loved capturing their smiles. 1201

momatoes @momatoes.com · 24/05/2026We also visited our university and just had a lovely day. It is such a beautiful place that holds so many precious memories. 180
momatoes @momatoes.com · 24/05/2026It was my birthday yesterday :) My partner bought me flowers, which didn't leave my hands the entire day 💐 10630
momatoes @momatoes.com · 18/05/2026Beaches can also be found aplenty in Bohol. Panglao island, in particular, is a popular spot for divers both local and international. Boats would take tourists to smaller islands where they could swim alongside corals and ocean life. 050
momatoes @momatoes.com · 18/05/2026Bohol's top attraction, however, may be its chocolate hills. Numbering over a thousand, these geologic limestone formations emerged from the sea a million years ago. The chocolate hills were named for their brown color during the summer. When we visited though, the grass was a healthy green! 160
momatoes @momatoes.com · 18/05/2026The highlight of our Bohol trip this weekend were the tarsiers. Tarsiers are one of the world's smallest primates, measuring only 3-6 inches in height. Tarsiers are nocturnal and hunt insects at night, using their incredibly long legs (and tarsial ankle bones!) to leap great distances. 2162
momatoes @momatoes.com · 17/05/2026My partner and I visited a mangrove walkway, and it was very very cool! 0300
momatoes @momatoes.com · 01/05/2026I realize I didn't actually take a photo of the church! I was hyper focused on the people, a subject I really love. I have some more photos of Manila, but I think I'll stop here—these few pics were my faves. I hope this gave an interesting glimpse of my country! 140
momatoes @momatoes.com · 01/05/2026Quiapo itself is a chaotic mess of people, faith, and tradition. The Quiapo church commands thousands of devotees, rising up to hundreds of thousands during the Feast of the Nazarene. All around the church you would find statues of Santo Niño, sampaguita garlands, and even fortune telling. 140
momatoes @momatoes.com · 01/05/2026Photo thread incoming! 🧵 Street vendors sit at the heart of Manila's streets. But not just in the capital city—the only place you can't find them would be the walled subdivisions insulated from the outside world. 1133
momatoes @momatoes.com · 01/05/2026Fridays are when major masses are held in Quiapo church, which counts thousands among its devotees. I had a lot of fun taking photographs around the area, and will share some tonight—but for now, have a crowd picture! 0150
momatoes @momatoes.com · 18/04/2026I can push it and make it even warmer and punchier, but is it overprocessed or still OK? 230
momatoes @momatoes.com · 18/04/2026Here is the final version. If you can't tell, I'm really enjoying playing around with editing. 260
momatoes @momatoes.com · 18/04/2026One thing that really amazes me is how a little editing can make a photo look so much more approachable. The first, washed out scene is the original; the warmer, "darker" second scene is the final. 1160
momatoes @momatoes.com · 18/04/2026The textures of Manila are also lovely. The way that objects come together enlivens cities with fresh vibes. 1140
momatoes @momatoes.com · 18/04/2026I had fun taking photos in the streets, but I'm dissatisfied by how many of them were out of focus or just plain had uninteresting subjects. Here are probably the best photos I've taken with people. 1222
momatoes @momatoes.com · 13/04/2026Many street vendors offer quick snacks to commuters in the city. I had the lucky opportunity to snap this pic on my own way home from work. I love the halo of light around the two focal people. 0170
momatoes @momatoes.com · 13/04/2026This one also turned out well. Autofocus on moving cats is a pain, but sometimes I get sharp pics. 0120
momatoes @momatoes.com · 13/04/2026I got my 12-45mm f/4 lens. So of course, I take pictures of cats. 2364
momatoes @momatoes.com · 06/04/2026Through arcane sorcery, despite being shot handheld, everything lined up and the photo came out looking well. Taft, Manila. Always busy, never still. 1241
momatoes @momatoes.com · 05/04/2026I bought a lens, although not the original one I was eyeing. I ended up getting an Olympus 12-45 mm f/4 because the ergonomics would be better on my tiny OMD EM-10 Mark IV, though a part of me is worried I'll regret it because I won't be able to achieve shallow depths of field. 1100
