My Chistmas present arrived slightly early. Well, you've got to check it's working OK, haven't you?! (It is, and it sounds great!) #NewGuitar #Guitar #12String #Leftie #LeftHanded #MusicianSky

For info, she would be something like this. (Disclaimer - neither of us look anything like these pictures!)

What Game of Thrones character would you be? Been watching it through again, and we ended up asking ourselves that question. My better half thinks I'd be a mashup of Bronn and Samwell Tarly. So basically something like this:

I don't think so, personally. NWOBHM also rans with 3 OK albums with lots of filler, followed by a career making plodding shiny cheese rock for people who wanted more shiny cheese than rock.

There are loads that could be included, depending on how broad you want to make it: Between The Buried And Me, Ihsahn, Leprous, Mastodon, Gojira, Ayrean, Boss Kelloid, Devin Townsend, Collibus, Haken, Oceans of Slumber, Intronaut, Protest The Hero, etc. And then there's the whole Djent thing too.

Hard to define precisely, because by definition it's varied & often musically experimental. Broadly, I guess it includes mostly long (and often quite 'technical') compositions, varied music (often classical/jazz influenced) but metal-based, big instrumental bits, etc.. Opeth would be a good example.

I was slightly concerned that all the howling, rattling and banging noises from #StormDarragh might have disturbed the dog She doesn't seem too concerned!

Apparently sleep isn't going to be a thing. Thanks #StormDarragh! If only I'd just released a brand new ambient album as a side project. Something to help with sleep and relaxation. Oh, wait....! It does really work, for me at least. Darragh is a bit loud, tho! open.spotify.com/album/4lOyaY...

Nothing wrong with all the #ambient #chill #NewAge type music for sleep, relaxing, etc. that's out there, of course, but different brains work differently. Mine needs something to grab on to musically for it to shup up and shut down, but without it being percussive or jarring.

The story: I was looking for ambient music to help me sleep but couldn't find what I needed. Some was too formless for my brain to register it, some had whale/water noises that annoyed my brain. Decided to make some but it didn't feel like it was Moistule. So GLOBEULE was born!
