ANYWAY this area of rubbed off paint and rust (now cleaned) is the point of this nonsense I’m gonna put on a white undercoat then use the same overcoat as on the bell. will it work? Yes! well? uhhhhhhhhhhhh we’ll find out lol but it’ll be better than rust regardless #BikeRepair #paint

a shifter cable running over a clamping screw but also running what very much seems like the wrong side of a retention clip built into the shifter

the parallelogram spring in question. if i move the cable to where it feels should be correct, the cable rubs against that spring. in this photo the cable is in as-received position and so is not up against the spring.

A vintage Tri-Met bus in white and vintage Tri-Met livery (orange / red/ brown stripes) on Bothell Way in Kenmore, Washington for some uknown reason. The bus number is 361 and the front route indicator - pre-digital, of course - shows route 27, Market-Main. The side route sign shows the same number.

The same bus from behind, the paint rather more faded, as if someone's restoration isn't finished. But th ebody's in good shape overall.

as always i'm shit at getting "before" pictures but you can see a little of the "pipe clamp" attachment it had originally in this first photo (the other side is the same as this side) and the second photo is a repost of the rust I got rid of #BikeBell

The bell removed showing the heavily rusted interior of the bell and a couple of its components. All this got cleaned, de-rusted, painted with rust stopping paint, and lubricated eventually.

The main body of the bike bell showing a handlebar attachment that consists of essentially two pieces of nickel-plated steel pipe strap screwed together. It would scar anything to which it was attached.
