2023 vs 2026 redraw. The first time I drew Ginger on pc without knowing how to even draw monkeys, to now after three years of study. I'm quite happy with the results. #monkeyOC #GingerMonkey #stonemonkeh #redraw

2026 has shown 3 years of progress. Line weight, color depth, and overall simian anatomy have come around to really highlight the changes in this character. I honestly love this lil brat.

2023. This was the first time I drew Ginger on my PC before I even knew how to draw monkeys. This first version of him had me fighting with the idea of spikey hairstyles verses my old usual, and then how to make a simian face. Thus he has an awkward inbetween human and something else. Line weight also was missing entirely and I was uncomfortable with solid color lines.

I wanted a more dynamic pose for the redraw, whilst still showing off his use of a glaive.

Close up for clarity. Over the past 2 years, Ive grown more confident in drawing clothing as well as use of color. Back in 24, I had a habit of blending all of my colors together and avoiding hard lines, but it left a lot of my images muddled.

Just another close up for facial definition. I need to draw another pose at some point to better accentuate the fluff of his mane. I may go back and blend in his fur a bit. If only to give it some softness.

This was the first colored render I did of Liu back in 2024. It was a time where I struggled with balancing definition with blending. It left clothes rather muddled.
